Good ol Geroge. I can always rely on him over analyzing a movie and constantly asking questions. Dude just sit back and enjoy the ride. Lol

Emily G

I really hope you guys react to Home Alone 2 this holiday season!! It’s just as good as the first and personally my favorite of the two.

Joe

George, I love you, but you gotta stop over analysing things. Home Alone is a family film taken from the perspective of a child. Just have fun with it.

Cinebinge

analyzing things IS how i have fun 🤷‍♂️ if you ever see me sit quietly and not analyze, it means i am bored and not engaged. im not capable of pretending otherwise.

Brien Kliver

Please watch Home Alone 2, it takes place in New York and is awesome!

Divinerights

I know this is old, but Catherine O Hara was like a real mother to Macaulay. They’re still close to this day

twe

might be old, but still brigthened my day to know, thanks

If you want to see more John Candy(A fellow Canadian!), the polka king of the Midwest, I would check out his stuff. I know people have suggested his movies but his Canadian tv show, SCTV, is absolutely hilarious. If you want more Home Alone, Home Alone 2 is not great, more of the same in a new location. Past that movie it’s a new cast.

I found it funny George found John Candy creepy. I can never not see him as a very cheerfully lovable person. I think you should get a few of his movies on the polls. I know the 2 big ones are Planes trains and automobile, and the other one is Uncle Buck. I would also toss in Cool running's as a personal favorite.

Lots of fun facts for this one, but first, on the second film, and the rest of the franchise. In my opinion, the second one is just as good as the first. Similar to what happened with Terminator 2, I think you will have a fairly large consensus telling you that the second one is very good, even if they don't agree that it matches with this one. The other movies are not as good. Fair warning, Home Sweet Home Alone is Speed 2 bad. Even if people don't agree with that, I am pretty good at knowing what people will think of a movie based on reactions to other films, and I think YOU two will love the second film, and you will think the final one is Speed 2 level bad if you see it. You have been warned. The house where this movie was shot (the outside shots of it) is a real house that was in the news when it was sold a little while back. The inside shots were filmed in a gymnasium, of all things, because they couldn't find any real locations that looked right for the film. For the outside shots, the family that lived in the house that was used were asked by the production company to use it, and they were paid for the use of their home. For the scene in the bathroom where Kevin had had a bath and was putting on the anti-perspirant and aftershave. Kevin was putting on spray-on deoderant. It was a thing, and back then, it did look like that. I used to use it. Aftershave doesn't sting when you haven't shaved, no, but on a little kid's skin, which is much more sensitive, it can burn like that. In fact, when McKully Culkin was using it, he put it on for real, but the director wasn't expecting it to burn that intensely. Mckully was completely surprised by the burn, so the reaction you see from the actor is real. His reaction is so good that they left it in the film. Ironic that it became so iconic that they have the statue of liberty on the poster for the second film doing the same hand to face gesture and scream. In the second bathroom scene, where he does it again, it's just water, and he recreated the reaction. The spider. Daniel Stern (Marv) is deathly afraid of spiders in real life. There was a spider handler on hand for filming, and when the spider was brought in, Stern asked him if the spider's venom had been removed. The handler told him that if they did that, the spider would die. So the spider really is poisonous. When Kevin puts the spider on Marv's face, the actor's reaction is real. No one, including Stern, expected his reaction to be that intense. If they had known, they wouldn't have allowed the scene to go that way, because his reaction risked the spider getting scared and biting him or Peschie. They discussed using a fake spider, but dropped the idea because Stern thought he could handle it and the spider would have looked too fake. The movie, Angels With Filthy Souls. It's not a real film. The movie was made specifically for this movie. They had to study how people talked and acted in older black and white films because people talked and acted differently back then. I'm guessing the movie is supposed to be from the 40s or 50s. I'm not good with that sort of thing, but I always thought it was smart to make the movie that old, because it's more believable that the pizza guy and the robbers wouldn't be familiar with it. The pizza guy was too young to have seen a movie like that, and the robbers looked like they were of an age that they might not have seen it. I always saw it that someone in the family likes old movies. Probably Uncle Frank (the really unlikeable one), because he's the one who wouldn't let Kevin watch it, because he's too young. Great reaction, guys. I'm sure there were other questions you guys had, but I can't recall them now. I hope you'll react to the second film, if not this year, then next Christmas. Hope you both have a very happy holidays.

I love Canadian Bacon and Spaceballs, as well as planes trains and automobiles. John Candy is great

King_Panarisi

Home Alone 2 is a good movie but you can drop all the other ones tho

The Maestro

I really like home alone 2 I really like it almost more than the first one

Eik104

The stuntmen really make this movie the gem that it is. Watching it as a kid was an amazing experience, but it's still so much fun to watch now. Great reaction :)

Thomas88

One more thing, the best of the fun facts: Back in the days Chris Columbus always wanted to have John Williams doing the music to one of his movies. Hughes told him to ask Williams but Columbus didnt, because he thought that such a great name... THE John Williams would be so expensive that he could never pay him. However someone of the production crew (its not clear who) send a copy to Williams. He red the script and liked it so much that he did the whole movie for free.

Christopher Greenley

Definitely watch Home Alone 2. It's even better than the first. I highly recommend it! It takes place in New York of course lol. Home Alone 3 is not as good. Watchable but not great. Haven't seen the newest one. Hope you both had a Merry Christmas!!!

Christopher Greenley

Christmas is over. I really hate for it to end. Until next year everyone. Plus I have to go to work in the morning. Bummer dude!!!😆 Xmas over New Years next. Peace and joy.😀

Christopher Greenley

Oh, movie suggestion. I forgot. Stupid me!😆 Crocodile Dundee with Paul Hogan is great!😎

Kate Suhr

I recommended this movie mostly for the traps lol but yeah the only other home alone worth watching is home alone 2. The rest of the sequels were bad attempts to remake the series by using new actors for new roles since the actor playing Kevin would have been too old by the time a 3rd movie came out. Definitely watch home alone 2 though I would say.

Kate Suhr

As mush as I like the 1st movie I think I like the second one even better due to the traps.

Travis Starnes

Loved this reaction. Although, George referring to John Candy as "that guy"... ooff, my heart. One of the greatest comedic actors of a generation, forgotten.

Einherj

Home Alone 2 is good. The other sequels are just cash-grab garbage.

Odd Thomas

Any John Hughes film from the 80s is pretty much perfect. Planes, Trains & Automobiles is one of the best comedies ever. And Breakfast Club of course!

Rainbow Dash

Still going through all your guy's reactions, and really enjoying them! I really hope you guys react to Home Alone 2 Lost in New York. This amazing sequel brings back the same actor's from this first movie. I dare say that it's even better!

Chase Schleich

It's so funny hearing Simon and George react to how horrible the family is at the beginning of this movie. It's how families were in the 80's and 90's, at least mine was lol. Of course, the movie version is more extreme, but it's not that far off. We were raised in chaos, left on our own, yelled at for everything, etc... The only thing this movie left out was the spanking.
