The whole movie is made to feel like a story told by a small boy; children can be over-sensitive, so Kevin feels like the whole family is against him. They can have wild imaginations, so he's able to fight off two seasoned burglars. They pick up on movie/tv quotes and repeat them, like how he used the lines from the old movie to 'talk' to outsiders. It all makes more sense if you imagine the movie is a story that an 8 year old is telling you about their holiday. George, that movie 'Angels with Filthy Souls' was made for this movie. It's not a real old-fashioned movie.

I never fancied this movie, but I sure did enjoy you two reacting to it :) The woman at the counter at the French airport is Hope Davis. I had to look that up. LOL My thought when you said she looked familiar was: she reminds me of Alicia Silverstone. A Merry Christmas to you two. Ups also a Merry Christmas to Mr. Cat :)

They definitely shot those “movie-within-a-movie” scenes just for the film, as “Angels with Filthy Souls” is a parody title of “Angels with Dirty Faces”.

The ticket thing gets a lot of people. They're late and he hands the entire set of tickets to the woman at one time, and she waves them on the plane since they're running late, without counting them.
