I've got to actually Simone: Pipi Longstocking isn't originally an animated character, but rather the protagonist of a series of classic children's books by the late Swedish author Astrid Lindgren.

You guys should actually watch Pippi , and not the cartoon or the new adventures. As follows All four Pippi Longstocking features (Pippi Longstocking, Pippi Goes on Board, Pippi in the South Seas, Pippi on the Run)

The first of those movies were cut together from a tv show, but yeah it's still the best adaptation of the Lindgren books. Inger Nilsson owns the character.

There was a Clueless TV show that aired for about 4 seasons and some of the actors returned for the series but not Alicia Silverstone. Her star burned brightest after this movie but sadly quickly faded after Batman & Robin was a disaster.

That abortion of a movie stalled out a hell of a lot of Hollywood careers, but personally i don't think that even if Silverstone had passed on it she'd have had that much more of a professional shelf-life. She simply didn't have enough range as an actress. She was young and pretty, and could play one character well, but that's just not enough to be more than a flavor-of-the-month transient on the A-list (well B+ List in her case). At least not as an actress, guys can get a pass if they find a viably popular niche to claim and dominate (like Arnold, Willis, and arguably Stallone).

In the theme of rom-coms, I was reminded of a classic one today while at work: 'Taming of the Shrew' (1967) Shakespeare play, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor (married at the time), amazing fun- you both'll have a bit of struggle with some of the dialogue but I'm sure you'll keep up with the story and enjoy it nonetheless!

And then theres stuff like Kiss Me Kate, a stage show about a theater crew putting on a show of Taming of the Shrew that has a great revival from 2000ish. Would be interesting to see you guys watch something completely different like that.
