I often think of a story where a group from Hong Kong visited a smaller town in Finland, and walking around they were terrified because there's no people on the street. They wondered if some plague or nuclear accident had decimated the population, but they thought it would be impolite to ask. And their guides saw how uncomfortable they were, but they thought it would be impolite to ask. The author called this two examples of "high context culture". I call it "if you don't talk to each other you'll not be able to communicate". Although limiting what things you can express is generally helpful to keep the powerless from challenging the powerful, i.e. parents who demand obedient children.

Really good movie and reactions. FYI there is a stinger at the end of the credits. Nothing huge but it’s pretty funny.
