mojo shivers

Good list. Black Hawk Down and Running Man are classics. But I love Master and Commander. I think it’s an underappreciated gem of cinema.

streaky

It won't win but Black Hawk Down is in my top 3 all-time war movies. Gets me every time - and it's so prescient to everything that's happened over the last 20 years.. It's also filled with people who are now really famous actors when they were just pups..

Sean Novack

No film has ever won more Academy Awards than Ben Hur, and this back when they were actually meaningful! It is NOT a popcorn flick so you need to approach it with that in mind. Its plot is very dense and you have to pay attention. It would be a bit of a change of pace for you both, and I highly recommend it for that reason alone, just to expand your horizons!

Mikey

master and commander please, so underrated

Gavin Kinsey

I went Blade Runner, but I'd be happy with any of these except Fury (which might also be great, but I haven't seen it so don't know). A very good set of movies there.

Erwin Quiachon

Without spoiling any plot points, Ben Hur reminds me most of your reaction to First Blood. It's an epic action movie that obviously influenced movies like Star Wars and Grease. But, like First Blood, all of the epic action is driven by the intense hatered that the characters have for each other. Like Rambo, none of them will ever find peace until they can find a way to defeat their own hatred.

redddfer44

A nice selection! If Blade Runner wins, DO NOT WATCH THE THEATRICAL CUT for the channel. I know internet is a cesspool of random people shouting out their uninformed opinions in all caps, but for the love of all gods in all eternity, don't watch the theatrical cut first.

Marko T.

Blade Runner and The Running Man are great.

Mr. Writhms

If “Blade Runner” wins the poll, there are 4 different cuts of the film. “The Final Cut” is the most popular with fans but I would suggest you put all the cuts in a quick poll. U.S. Theatrical Release (1982) International Theatrical Release (1982) Director’s Cut (1992) The Final Cut (2007) Though the 1992 cut says “Director’s Cut”, Ridley Scott did NOT have total control over the final edit. “The Final Cut” is a restored and remastered release that Ridley Scott cut and approved himself. I think that is the one most readily available.

TexasJ

Blade Runner is, by far, the best!

King_Panarisi

You guys should add The Pacific to the next series poll. It’s a miniseries of 10 episodes like Band of Brothers but it focuses on the Pacific theatre instead of the European one.

weirdTangent

I hope that if _Blade Runner_ wins, you watch _Blade Runner: 2049_ shortly after.

James Quinn

Got to be the Running Man all the way- not the BEST Arnold movie ever, but has some of his best one-liners! Comparable to Commando’s one-liners. The dystopian future is pretty rad. I like the hunger games style contest to the death way better than hunger games! The dvd had a mini documentary about Running Man and reality shows comparisons. I love Bladerunner, but I’m questioning who is the badass in it? Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) is the baddest. I can’t help but mention the classic 80s anime: Bubblegum Crisis. Don’t let the name fool ya! It’s about 4 badass chicks in power armor liken to iron man versus hulking green endoskeletal-Terminators called Boomers. The show was highly INFLUENCED by blade runner and shamelessly used the same names such as Dekard/ Priss and the Replicants. It’s pretty amazing! I’d have to say, the next-step movie of Alita Battle Angel caliber anime to live action MUST BE bubblegum crisis! Japanese language version of course. Particularly translating the rock songs into English ruins them. Maybe Alita should be on the badass list 🤔

Toc

I don't even know what "Bladerunner" is anymore, there are so many cuts of it. I tried to watch a reaction for it, I didn't recognize anything, I had to shut it off, lol. I know the theatrical cut, and I know some other cut that doesn't have the Harrison Ford narration. And then there's another cut. And then another one. And maybe there's another one, too, I can't even keep track. I never loved it, I mean it was ok, it was never the greatest thing ever. Great looking. Is there a clear-cut version of this movie that everyone gets behind? Or do people split between all the different versions?

Jeff Smith

Got some good picks here -Master and Commander & Blade & Blackhawk Down - all 3 of these got my vote and the best part is I own all 3 of these movies and with that said everyone there with the exception of Running Man (poorly made movie) is a winner

Sammy Rebbo

Blade got my vote. I tossed a vote for Running Man cause it's a fun movie and would be a fun reaction but Blade is the only one I want to win. Blades 1 and 2 are great, the third one is meh but it does have Ryan Reynolds in it.

AC10

Simone George please let us know which of the MCU movies you have not already seen.... if any. Or better yet just throw the one you most want to watch next on a poll please. Thanks

Brian Hakala

Running Man! I’d love to see more Schwarzenegger reactions!

Stretch

Master and Commander is so good!

micah

blade runner! gotta see 2049 as well if it wins 🙏🏽

Erwin Quiachon

"Commando" is the peak of Scwarzenegger badass beafcake humor. It's the closest Schwarzenegger ever gets to Monty Python.

Twiska Brand

I hope you do both Blade and Blade Runner (no relation)

James Quinn

Major Payne is pretty badass

Wief Chiggum

I love blade so goddamn much

Kripke's Corner

Just to add my 2cents: Wesley Snipes "IS" Blade the moment he arrives in the "bloodbath" scene. First movie was great. The 2nd movie is FANTASTIC! Third movie.... ugh...

Kripke's Corner

I don't know why, but I was obsessed with the Running Man and was a long time favorite of mine growing up. I loved SubZero in it! :D

Eldarth

You want a real badass? Soldier with Kurt Russell

Craig D

you guys like medieval type movies? king arthur(2004) by far the greatest version of this story. kingdom of heaven (2005) troy (2004) centurion (2010)

Happy Hanukkah

13 days of voting? Are you trying to get a 7-way tie?! :-)

Craig D

also some anime suggestions: afro samurai (2005) appleseed (2004) ninja scroll (1993) akira (1988) dante’s inferno (2010)

HeyHeyJK

SO excited to see your reaction to Shaun of the Dead! I gotta figure out how I can upgrade my tier from the yearly one I'm in to the one where I can watch the full length reactions! There's so many I want to go back and rewatch in full.

Haye Zeus

Little love for Ben Hur but I get it. It’s an older movie with no current pop culture standing. I love it tho and it’s the best example of the old Hollywood epic. It feels and looks grand. It’s an event to watch it. But also it’s a fun captivating story.

Happy Hanukkah

I will be boycotting this poll :-) since the only legitimate badasses poll is one which involves choosing one of the characters in The 13th Warrior (1999). (With the likely winner being Buliwyf, portrayed by Vladimir Kulich.)

Tipist

Adding my vote to Black Hawk Down as I actually served under one of the characters in that movie during my military service, so I have a bit of a bias towards that one!

Bill Pearson

Are there not other kinds of movies that are not full of gratuitous violence and hunky men to elicit Simone’s reactions? There are many more out there that touch your soul, make you think, feel and make you yearn for more. There are just too many of the same in my opinion, but maybe that is just me.

Bill Pearson

I have a couple of times. I wasn’t referring to that one. Why would you say that is obvious? I was referring to several of the polls with similar themes. I watch them while they are watching Pan’s Labyrinth and Good Will Hunting and they were moved and intrigued. There are other movies with top notch acting and amazing scripts that would dazzle them and entertain their audience as well, but these movies don’t seem to make it on the short list. Maybe it is just me, but I can’t watch some of the selections having seen them before and was not overly impressed with several of them when I saw them. I only speak on this because they are top notch movie reactors and deserve top notch movies to view. I am sure that I am not making any fans with these comments. I am just trying to be honest. I don’t mean upset anyone.

Toc

Badass? Robert De Niro in "Cape Fear" (1992)! Eventually, everyone is going to be doing that movie, you might as well be the first, Cinebinge!

MacGuffinStuff

I didn't vote for Fury but I hope you guys watch it sometime in the future anyway, it's a solid, very gritty WW2 movie, and it's one of my top 7 Brad Pitt performances, I just had to vote for some other choices first.

Jack Burton

Would never have thought of Blade for a Badass poll.

Marko T.

I haven't seen Blade in a long time but it was good. I recommend Daredevil (2003) Director's cut. Its 30 minutes longer than the theatrical cut and much better.

Erwin Quiachon

You shouldn't be worried about the 4 hour length of Ben Hur if you watch Lord of the Rings every year. The depth and pace of Ben Hur is about the same as Godfather 2. Ben Hur has the intense action scenes that might make it move faster than Godfather 2. The way you handled Godfather 2 makes me think you'll be fine absorbing Ben Hur.

Robert-Lee Sefton

The Running Man definitely needs to be considered for the future! The loosest adaptation of a Stephen King novel ever - and also the film that must be 90% Arnold Schwarzenegger catchphrases. You'll have an absolute blast.

redddfer44

I just realized: you guys have not reacted to the Schwarzenegger showcase masterpiece that is Commando! I know you will at some point so I'm just gonna wait with the patience of a saint.

Ironclad Nomad

Ok, I really have to protest these votes. Nothing against Blade, but it's definitely toward the bottom of that list.

Andrew S

I'm watching Batman Bigins with you guys and I realized you haven't seen American Psycho (2000) its a Dark Comedy/Horror, might end up being a patreon exclusive if George can't cut the movie down, but its a must watch

Andrew S

Also watch The Iron Giant (1999) make sure its the (signature edition)

Mike Adams

Have you guys seen Legend with Tom Cruise?

Robert Cooper

I have never understood the following Master and Commander seems to have. It's not bad, but I have never thought it to be a particularly great movie.

Githerax

George, you got a Mystery category coming up? Simone says she loves the 'figuring things out' kind of movie: - The Usual Suspects - Knives Out - Shutter Island - Memento - Murder on the Orient Express (2017) - Gone Girl - Prisoners (2013) - The Prestige - The Illusionist - North by Northwest (1959) - The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) - Charade (1963) - Rear Window (1954) - Clue, just for fun These are some I've enjoyed and are mostly recognizable titles (Hitchcock might be getting too old for today's audience), anyone else have good ones?

Tyler Foster

I just need to find 30 more people who like Blade Runner...

Steven Cavanagh

It's more a Comedy but you might want to include the Tim Curry film Clue.

Craig D

fear and loathing in vas vegas 🤪

James Quinn

Consider the movie BULLET starring Mickey Rourke and Tupac Shakur! It’s pretty badass 😎 because you liked Marv in Sin City

Jack Burton

I don't get how Blade gets more than Blade Runner. It's... like a McDonalds Hamburger vs. a Filet Mignon. Looks like mediocrity wins again!

Big.Bad.Mr.Mustard

I personally think Apocalypto (2006) directed by Mel Gibson would be an awesome watch. It's not the most historically accurate movie but it's a great example of visual story telling that's very satisfying .

Joanthan Skidmore

Please consider 'The World's Fastest Indian,' with Anthony Hopkins

James Quinn

One interesting thing you’ll find about The Running Man- the dystopian future mirrors our own more and more all the time! Like the media and government spread misinformation and keep THE TRUTH from the people by using deception and distraction 😎

Githerax

FYI, George & Simone, I hope you keep this in mind for if you ever do watch 'Knives Out' (if you haven't already): I was just watching a couple of other reactors watch it and I noticed something they particularly had a problem with. They kept thinking they had to "move from conclusion to conclusion" in order to keep up with the story and ended up being completely confused the whole time. But 'Knives Out' was written as a traditional mystery, in the style of Agatha Christie or Dorothy Sayers, not modern "mysteries" which are more like mere gothic dramas. Like a jigsaw puzzle, every piece was intended to be placed on a table and assembled along the way, and the final picture would not reveal until the end. So if you do watch it, I recommend you watch carefully, and don't try too hard to piece it together along the way. Question everything and assume nothing. Good mystery writers place traps to punish quick assumptions, and 'Knives Out' is a well-written mystery.

E.P.B.F.

Aw man! Master and Commander once again gets the short end of the stick. One of the most underappreciated movies of the last two decades.
