The Batman became available on HBO Max today. Have you guys thought about reacting to it ? :)

Florian

Uhh lots of good ones. Its a long time since if seen City of god, loved that movie.

Nylwell

You two should watch Slingblade

Chago_kiba_Lee

Please do americas darth bond (John wick) haha

Steven Rose

Please add The Prestige (2006) to a future poll. I’d love to see a reaction to that if neither of you have seen it yet.

Marcus Hicks

All of these are great, but Usual Suspects, Fargo & Untouchables are definitely the best IMHO.

Gary Poussard

Yeah Fargo and The Untouchables.

P S

Fargo is top notch, so is it's spinoff tv show

Tiago Borges

Oh, nice to see the City of God on that list, it is very rare to see Brazilian movies on those lists. That is probably the best movie ever produced in Brazi, along A Dog's Will

Velho Heryk

I know that City of God will not win since it's foreign and the competition is a tough one, but that's a damn good movie that deserved more recognition and aside from Fargo (which I haven't watch) it is the best crafted movie on the list by far.

Ben A.M.

Have either of you seen Oceans 11? Maybe it's more of a heist movie, but I think it fits here too! ✌

David Crabtree

Not the biggest fan of Usual Suspects, I feel it's a one trick pony, but would make for a fun reaction

clout strife

Hell yeah Fargo hell yeah Fargo. It’s an American story but with all the mid-west stuff it feels v Canadian lmao

Toc

Casino is basically Goodfellas Goes To Vegas, it's almost like a sequel. Doesn't look like it's going to win this poll, but I can't wait for you to see it because the Goodfellas reaction was so fantastic! You're DEFINITELY going to do a great reaction to that. Fargo is tremendous, can't wait for you to see that also, you guys are going to kill on that one. That and Raising Arizona are so up this channel's alley, it's not even funny! lol. (Raising Arizona and Fargo are both Coen Brothers movies)

A very good list without any objectively weak entries: - Baby Driver. Good cast, excellent direction and music, decent if slightly uneven performances, solid writing though the end slumps a little bit. - The Untouchables. Semi-Classic with a cast star-studded enough to be mistaken for a 70ies disaster movie in the wrong light. Not all that historically accurate storywise, but fun and very meme rich. Never really 'bonded' with that film myself, but i'm aware that's very much a me problem, not a movie problem. - Fargo. It's a Coen Brothers flick what more needs to be said. If you love their other movies - which i do - you'll love this one as well. Though it should be mentioned Fargo is a bit of an outlier for being gory compared to the rest of their films. - Casino. I always think of it as Goodfellas II, because so many of the crew and cast worked on both movies, and it's hard to say which one's better. They are both excellent representatives not just of their genre, but movies period. Everybody brings their A game, including Sharon Stone. Scorsese at his prime. - City of God. What a gem of a movie, and not just because the Brazilian favelas are a criminal milieu that gets very rarely explored by movies. The story for all its grimy background reminds me of a homerian epic by way of Shakespeare the way it plays out. - John Whick. It's arguably an Action rather than a Gangster or a Crime movie, but what the heck it's Keanu, and that fight choreography is simply of the hook so who gives a f#ck about genre classification nitpicks. It's brainless popcorn fun with a higher celluloid bodycount than a 80ies Aahnold movie. - The Usual Suspects. The most Tarantino movie Quentin never directed. Great cast, good script, good direction, excellent performances all around. A must see 90ies classic of the genre. My picks, and it was a very difficult choice, are: 1) Casino. This movie and Goodfellas really belong together. If you've watched one you have to watch the other as well. 2) City of God. It's not just a great gangster movie, its a great movie fullstop. 3) The Usual Suspects. A 90ies gangster classic. Personally i'd group it together as a double feature with 'Things to do in Denver when you are Dead' the same way Goodfellas and Casino should be. They just fit together so well stylistic- and tonally.

Finnulf

What... no Heat? or Ronin (although that's also an espionage thriller)?

Jim Johnson

Really hope Fargo wins, it’s one of my favorite movies

Cubonemaker

How is City of God so low though 🙁

Middy

Fargo could possibly lead the way to you watching the TV series, which is also great, so that gets my vote. City of God probably won't win but I feel like that's just because fewer people have seen it, amazing movie though. The Usual Suspects is a must-see for anybody who calls themselves a movie fan.

Githerax

Let's blow their minds, people; vote up 'The Usual Suspects'. If you're not voting for it because you haven't seen it, then now's your chance to have your mind blown too. If you're not voting for it because you *have* seen it, now's your chance to see it again through Simone and George's eyes.

Theoshin

I think we should vote for a 7 way tie to see what happens

Marko T.

I have a suggestion for the future polls: King Kong (2005). Great remake directed by Peter Jackson.

Tyler Foster

Basically anything except Baby Driver, which (aside from Soho, which I haven't seen) is Edgar Wright's worst film yet. Had such high hopes, but was really disappointed in the results. The video for Mint Royale's "Blue Song" that Wright directed and later "expanded" into Baby Driver is better, IMO. Hoping for Casino and The Untouchables to do better than they are now, although I'd be happy enough with a Fargo win.

Eik104

What a great list once again! I know you'll react to them all, but City of God deserves more votes

Haye Zeus

I was gonna say, if Usual Suspects was winning over Fargo, I would have known what the people who got upset with Austin Powers felt.

Bill Woods

Suggestions: The Right Stuff (1983) -- the early Space Race The 13th Warrior (1999) -- Antonio Banderas goes aviking And of course, You've Got Mail (1998) -- Hanks & Ryan

Peter Hudson

City of God is criminally underwatched, one of the best films ever

Emmet Farrell

Just do all of them :) plus Ronin, Heat, and Sneakers

Andrew Smith

Dang no love for City of God amazing film.

Smanuelle

No list of movies about gangs is complete without "Gangs of New York"

JarHead0351

"Warriors" is a gang movie with a following too ** Can You Dig IT.**

QuiGon_Jim (Howe)

I simply can't believe 'Road to Perdition' isn't on the list. Its a fantastic film set in the 30's starring Tom Hanks.

Bill Pearson

Scent of a Woman, A Few Good Men and Field of Dreams are all three great movies when you decide to do other genres and to expand your viewing base. Simone, you are a writer. These three movies are well written and the acting is amazing. I am sure you two will enjoy any of the three similar to your enjoyment of Good Will Hunting.

Nicodemas944

Suggestion for future polls: O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)

Jah (jakwiq) (Jah Quick)

#1 Fargo will set y'all on the path to Coen Brothers movies. #2 The Usual Suspects will stick with you.

Erik Lundmark

Casino is seriously underrated. But my vote is for Fargo.

Tyler Foster

I agree with Jah above. I hope you continue down the Coen path after Fargo, and not just the big ones (aka Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou?, and No Country For Old Men): Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Man Who Wasn't There, Burn After Reading, and True Grit are all amazing.

HeyHeyJK

'Fargo' is a must for your continued Coen Brothers journey, and I threw in a vote for 'The Usual Suspects' because it's just great. I REALLY want you guys to react to 'Baby Driver' but SO much of the film relies on music with a lot of sequences specifically times to specific songs, sort of like what Edgar Wright did in 'Shaun of the Dead' where they all beat the pub owner to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'. It would be a nightmare to edit, I'm guessing, to avoid any copyright issues, but it's such a great film.

Zeke

Working Girl and Witness, early Harrison Ford The Man from Snowy River (lots of horses)

Monica Alarcon

Oh noooo. A tie! I wonder if someone added her... Er I mean their vote at the last minute to cause it...

Haye Zeus

A tie huh? Shenanigans I say. Shenanigans!
