It's hard to make a bad movie if you follow the Godfather playbook. But, the creativity is lacking. I wanted to see something new. This felt like I'd seen it all before. It's time to give Batman back to little kids. The adults have milked the Michael Corleone daddy issues dry out of Batman over the last 20 years. Batman should be fun again. Bring back the campy, colorful, Batman that the little kids love who also scares the shit out of all the homophobes.

Not gonna lie, I kinda wanna see a few videos from you guys of Simone just singing Blink-182 songs lol. You can post it right after the George flogging video lol

I liked this considerably more than other recent interpretations of Batman because the character's genre is "gothic crime noir." I though this film told an excellent crime noir story, and the bat/cat/psycho costumes added just the right amount of gothic flavor. I am not a genre purist, but I don't need to see a bright, colorful Batman again. He exists and the reruns are still entertaining. Nor do I need any more mopey, emo Superman. Tell me a Superman story without Zod or Kryptonite and be as colorful and zany as you want. Tell me a Batman story (no more Joker, I beg you) that has one foot in crime and the other in gothic horror. Space travel? I'd love to see a (good) Green Lantern film. By all means, let characters have cameos in each other's movies, there is nothing wrong with a little genre-bending, but Superman doesn't structurally make sense in Batman's world, and vice versa.

The ‘crime noir’ take is talked about so much with this film. I appreciate that people wanted to see more of this but it’s not exactly a huge step from the Nolan trilogy. Bale does investigation across his trilogy but apparently comic readers wanted things be moodier with a voiceover… which puts this interpretation between Snyder and Nolan. That’s fine but I don’t get why people find it so thrilling! This is literally the 8th interpretation of Batman on screen in the last 10yrs. Honestly a more supernatural take would at least have felt different. And this film is 3 hours long!! So much unrelenting grimness… what’s so appealing about this?? The twists and turns don’t impact the characters as much as you would think, unless being a symbol of ‘hope’ going forward means this Batman has a sense of humour going forward!!

Simone, your intro played right into an idea I had to do an EDM remix of a bunch of your intros but I don't have the skillz to make it work :D George?? Can you please??

A Red Mage Named Blue

This is the first Batman film in decades that I've wanted to watch more than once. It takes him back to his basic concept of World's Greatest Detective and it does it well. (I dislike the Riddler costume, but it makes sense in the movie's context, and there's hope that he'll go more bombastic in a sequel)

JokerDanny

Please react to the Gotham tv series, it ran for 5 seasons and it's about Bruce Wayne as a child before he became Batman, the show also creates their own origin stories for Batman's enemies like the Joker, Scarecrow, Bane, Riddler, etc. It was a fantastic show and if you loved this movie you'll love this show. It's very much in the same vein as in it's a realistic approach to Batman and his enemies.

Rezblade

In the end Selina Kyle goes to her nightwing patrols and if you like seven and this riddler you like thrillers maybe you would like copycat with Sigourney Weaver

Good reactions and seeing you guys work 👍🏼👌🏼

How do I request a movie be considered for watching? Please watch K-Pax! Starring Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey :)

To answer the evil Alfred question at 25 minutes i want to post one of my favorite Batman pages, from "whatever happened to the caped Crusader?" i believe : https://i.stack.imgur.com/pgHuL.jpg . If i remember right its pretty much just this Page, but such a great idea.
