Hey hey folks! With just 1 more upload left for True Detective Season 1, it's that time again where you all vote for the next tv series for us to react to! For new patrons who joined since the last TV poll, welcome! and just an fyi we do a new poll after each season of any show so that new patrons who missed the previous one wont need to wait potentially months before getting to vote! Remember, you can vote for more than 1 show :)

I remember loving Firefly when it was forced into late night syndication. It rocked! It was not released in order by some angry FOX executives wishes and only lasted a single season. But it still garnered a cult following, a cinematic film to tie it all up and it's DVD box set was the highest selling for a long time. I really see Simone and George enjoying the heck out of this show and eventual film. The characters and the ship are unequalled when it comes to a ragtag group of rogues just trying to survive in such a setting. It will always be a crime against art and culture that this show didn't become a longer running series.

Too many good shows on this list, but the wire is hands down The best written show I've ever seen. No competition.

Are you planning to watch the Firefly-Finale film directly after finishing the series? You should. It ties up the series well and you could easily use it for your usual Patreons/Youtube releases.

To anyone who hasn't seen Arcane, please do, it's a phenomenal show. I worry that Firefly although great and wonderful at the time has not stood up so well to the test of time (and I'm still bitter about how it all went down). Another show worth considering is Sense8, it was really good and another show that ended too soon.

the first expanse book ends half in the middle of season 2, so they dont end storylines at the end of a season which makes stoping there horrendes xD

I joined patreon just after the last poll closed on a tie. I love Firefly, so I was a bit disappointed. But enjoying True Detective more than I did first time, so hopefully all's well that ends well if we get Firefly next. I will forgive people voting for The Wire, which is also great.

Voted for Firefly and The Wire. Firefly will be quicker as it's only one season but The Wire should be next after that IMO. It's the show that took things to a next level and opened the door for shows like Breaking Bad to be made.

Ya'll sleeping on Arcane. -100% critic rating and 97% audience rating on rotten tomatoes -9.4 user rating on Metascore (highest rated Netflix original of all time) -9.3/10 on iMDB (this places Arcane in the top 5 ever scripted shows on iMDB, alongside Breaking Bad, Chernobyl, Band of Brothers, and The Wire) -it won ALL 9 of the awards it was nominated for at the Annies (world record)

For these two reactors, there literally is no other choice than Firefly: --top notch character development --Sci-fi Space-Western (!) --they cuss in chinese! --action, comedy, drama, mystery, government conspiracy, underdogs fight against the man, romance--has it all --need I say it, butts! If has to only pick one it has to be Firefly. Frankly, I’d vote for it 10 times, 100 times even. After that I’d vote Arcane.

I also recommend Sense 8 and Babylon 5 is a longer commitment but well worth it. I'd add the Korean series My Name, the Spanish series Jaguar, and the French series A Very Secret Service if you're ok with subtitles.

Firefly is overrated. It started out strong but it would have been another mediocre Joss Whedon show. Serenity is an okay movie. But yeah would definitely prefer a Wire watch cause that show, as critically beloved as it is, doesn’t get enough of the attention it deserves.

2026-09-17 05:00 I'm new to the Patreon and am in no position to ask for any favors (even if I were a longtime patron, I guess), but *please* *please* *please* do not do a show starring Nathan Fillion, ever. Or created by Joss Whedon, for that matter. I have no bribes to offer you but you'd have my eternal gratitude, fwiw. (I voted for "The Wire," btw.)

Just please no Boobie Fat, the show was downright cringy, Nevermind he was turned into a total wimp. Never seen Firefly though so hoping that wins, Moon Knight is surprisingly good so far as well.

ohh boy. i really hope firefly wins this poll. you two will LOVE Firefly and so will anyone else who hasn't seen it. after that you gotta watch the movie. How would I go about making a donation to specifically get them to watch that movie if they watch Firefly? I'd donate a good sum for that specifically.

Apart from Arcane, which I didn't watch, I like all the shows on that list. But The Expanse is on an entirely different level. I had never seen that before on television, their attention on small details, like what the lack of gravity does to your body, how your hair would behave without gravity, and how ships actually would work in space.

Please don't combine episodes tomake fewer reactions. This show deserves as much time and detail as possible. I would argue, you don't catch all the nuance and subtle dialog on the first time watching. You need to watch this show multiple times to catch all the subtle meanings and dialog.

Don't know if it is already in your backlog list: Con Man (2015) also with Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. It's a comedy (two seasons) and could lead you into another comedy, Galaxy Quest with Sigourney Weaver...
