Poker, I'm familiar with a couple of variations; 5 card stud, 'Hold'm" that's it for me. By the way, of all of Bond's women, the woman was voted #1

djKENTO

I’m shocked yall didn’t continue this.

simon brouillard

Just watched this reaction, as always great, I know that the next one isn’t great, it was shot during a writing strike, I hope you go back to that series including quantum giving that the Craig films are really a continuous series .

Ray Ward

When setting up the car flip stunt, they were trying only to get the car to roll over, but the Aston Martin simply wouldn’t roll. So they put a piston under it to make it flip and the result is what is in the movie. They had no expectation that it would roll so many times. The driver was fine.

Just wanted to chime and say that you did the "finish each others'... sentences" bit in the beginning, what with the "Casino Royale with Cheese" and all. Solid performance!

Michael Lynch

When this popped up on my notification all I could see was you guys were watching casino and I said hell yes. Then I clicked on it and it said casino Royale. Still a cool movie though. To me the best of his Bond movies.

Simone, to go back and watch earlier Bond movies and not have to slog through every one of them I'd recommend: - Dr. No (1962) - From Russia with Love (1963) Establishes many long-running tropes - (optional) Goldfinger (1964) - yeah I said optional come at me - (optional) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) - for the completionist who wants to see all the Bond actors - Live and Let Die (1973) Roger Moore's first, have some wine with it and it will give you loopy nightmares - Moonraker (1979) To see the peak of the Bond camp arc - (optional) License to Kill (1989) - to see Dalton - Goldeneye (1995) - considered Brosnan's best - (optional) Die Another Day (2002) - by this point Bond was all but sunk however I liked what they were trying to do with it here Among the many fun Bond facts: The first 'Casino Royale' (1967), which George referred to, was made as a satire and had a soundtrack composed by Burt Bacharach. Yep, the fella playing the piano on the bus in 'Austin Powers'. It had a staaaacked cast too: Oscar winner David Niven, Oscar winner Peter Sellers (which you will *have to react to in Dr Strangelove* if you haven't seen it already), Ursula Andress (the first Bond Girl) as Vesper and Oscar winner Orson Welles as Le Chiffre I don't recommend you watch it.

The Maestro

M is just the boss of MI6 there have been a number of different Ms over the years but Judy Dench was the M for both Pierce Brosnan and most of the Daniel Craig films

steezo jckson

wasnt expecting you to be a nicki fan

beefjerkywizard

As an Edmontonian I am both hurt and in full agreement :)

RocktSurgeon

The chase scene at the start.. thats actually one of the founders of free running and one of the earliest developers of parkour. He makes it all look so smooth and effortless, great way to contrast the brute force approach of this Bond.

Githerax

George, Poker refers to a (usually) five-card game (although the one in the movie is a popular tournament form with seven cards). There's dozens of variations of Poker; Draw Poker and variations, Stud Poker and variations, and more. Other popular card games include Blackjack, Gin Rummy, Euchre, Hearts, Bridge- the list never ends.

Yes, they do make planes that big. The “Skyfleet” is actually a Boeing 747 that’s been cinematized to look like something else. The actual largest passenger plane is the Airbus A380, a double-decker monster. The largest plane of all was the Antonov An-225, which was unfortunately destroyed recently in Ukraine. Fun fact: The 747 used here can be seen at the airport that Top Gear UK frequently used as their test track.

If you’re going to watch early Bonds, my top three would be From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. I think those three are fairly safely the best of the first dozen or so.

NotlobParrot

Quantum of Solace is basically a continuation of this movie. I won't spoil anything, except to say the older Bond Films were much more standalone, so having CR and QoS be so serialized was a big deal at the time.

wroot

CineBond :D I have read they had to do a trampoline and some explosion to boost that Aston Martin higher in the air to get so many flips. Looked stunning.

Dario Fontana

The location at the end and where bond was recovering are in Italy precisely on the Como's lake.

Monica Alarcon

I hope you do the next Bond films... be advised the next one, James Bond: Shaking of Cam, is not very good but the rest get better

mpd

The best Craig of all time.

Endling_king

that chair torture scene was so painful to watch but at the same time you couldnt help but laugh at the audacity that bond had during that scene. also it was interesting seeing George catch on to what was about to happen before Simone did, I think that scene caused a universal cringe of imaginary pain for every guy who watched it. but then also a laugh when Bond made that joke. which in that kind of situation where you know you are prob going to die. why not fuck with the guy. he may kill you painfully. but his frustration will live on (assuming he would of lived).

This version of poker is Texas hold em, where you have to make the best 5 card hand using any combination of the 2 you have and the 5 on the table. Lowest hand is high card, then a pair, 2 pairs, three of a kind, a straight (eg 23456) flush (any 5 of the same suit) full house, four of a kind, a straight flush (bonds winning hand) and then the best possible hand is a royal flush which is the highest straight flush (AKQJ10)

Tim Boxall

Four "Jeepers" in one movie?! Wow!!

ECCENTRiC

Such a fun series can't wait for the next one!

christopher b swanson

the next one is the 1st direct sequel, but also the shortest, which is good, most drag the next one, but I think its highly underrated.........great series, do mission impossibles as well

Githerax

I googled 'edmonton tourist attractions' and I got images of trees. Trees are nice, though. Edit: kidding. I just did it for real and found you have a knock-off Gehri museum and a knock-off Louvre botanical garden. Those look cool.

Jim Frykman

lol the Octopussy pantomime

Torsten Maekler

It's good to see Simone back up at full health after a long rest :-)

christopher b swanson

you guys are going to die laughing at the end location of next movie lol

JKP1138

You should definitely check out some of the earlier Bond films! Personally, I think all of the Sean Connery ones are worth watching, but if I had to narrow it down to just a couple I'd watch "From Russia With Love" and/or "Goldfinger".

AC10

Seeing Jeffrey Wright in this reminded me just how badly I want to see you two react to Westworld tv series....

Marko T.

One of the best Bond movies. I recommend The Mask of Zorro (1998) from the same director.

JoeySnowyNoey

Probably my favorite bond film! The new one comes in close second, but yeah this movie is dope!

Torsten Maekler

If you want to go for extended fight scenes, try "Atomic Blonde" (around 10min) or "Extraction" (around 12min). First one is a one-shot, second one is a faked one-shot. Very impressive... .

Florian Hoyer

tbh atomic blonde is worth watching for the whole movie its SUCH A GOOD MOVIE that pretty much shows how female action stars are done right :) not just copy/paste or change gender but a smart story with a good actress its just so good

Marko T.

I hope you do the next movie soon. Its not as good as this but its still great. This and the third one are my favorite Craig era Bond movies.

Marko T.

Simone that Nintendo 64 Bond game you mentioned is probably GoldenEye. Its based on the movie from 1995. Martin Campbell directed that too.

Logan Kerlee

I am so upset that I missed/forgot about this! lol, just finished watching the reaction. Super fun and entertaining. It makes me very happy that you both enjoyed the ride. lmao, it blows my mind that neither of you have ever seen a Bond movie before. I grew up with Goldeneye - that was the first one that I ever saw. This was definitely an alright one to begin with. :) As far as other Bond flicks go - there are many that can be skipped altogether. Daniel Craig's films are all worth watching though - so no worries there. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for any upcoming Bond movie reactions!! :)

Tenn Seven

Unfortunately the next Bond film "Quantum of Solace" is garbage. Such a promising start for the era of Daniel Craig just ruined by a crap plot and a hack director.
