Kung Fu Panda - Patreon Version

I'm a little late to the game here, but you missed the post credit scene

Wirenfeldt

You would recognize Ian McShane as Winston, the owner of the New York Continental, from John Wick too.. So Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3 coming to a Patreon Feed near us then? Don't leave us hanging.. .. Have you seen the others too George?

Persnickity

I love how circular the story is in this movie. Every silly thing that Po hurts himself in the beginning of the movie is a move he uses on Tai Lung by the end. If ya'll do end up watching 2 and 3, you will learn more about the Skadoosh

Torsten Maekler

And I was wondering why Kung Fu Panda was not in your animated movie poll... nice surprise :-) This movie is a lot of fun. 2 and 3 are also... so keep on watching.

Grumples

I second this! Please watch the rest when you can. Kung Fu Panda 2 is my absolute favorite and I would love to see Simone's reaction to it.

That was interesting, George, I didn't know about the Chinese film makers' reactions to this. One thing I want to know; how was 'bodacity' translated? :D Also, sooo many Jackie Chan movie references- a fight breaking out in a restaurant (every wuxia movie?), the chopsticks, and also a split-second bit where some noodles fell on his head and looked like long women's hair- a reference to Drunken Master, maybe? Where Jackie tried the 'feminine style' of fighting? https://youtu.be/iE9ZF2eA-Fc?t=215

Nice intro! lol. Wife and I are actually going to see Tenacious D on the 20th! Super excited!

Simone, "This movie is so good!" Wait until 2. It's also- how can I describe it? "...so good!" Also, Simone, "How do they put so much emotion in their little fuzzy faces?" I didn't think about that until you said it, but then I started paying attention and I began to notice the eyes. This movie does amazing things with the eyes. Rewatch it and just see how often the eyes tell it. Like, check out 24:59-25:07, how many eyelines Po hits.

That's awesome... Enjoy! I saw Tenacious D at the House of Blues in San Diego back in 2007. It was a great show.

So happy that you picked Kung Fu Panda to react. I hope you choose to do the other two too. Thanks for a eveing of fun with the two of you.

Spooky Dooky

Did you guys react to Everything Everywhere All At Once and I missed it???

Githerax

Simone, what in the world is 'Rhinos in the snow' sung to the tune of 'Riders on the storm'??

Andrew T

I love all of Cinebinge's reactions, but if I can offer one piece of hopefully constructive criticism, it's to, please, finish your thoughts on certain things. One in particular was when George says something about the scroll possibly representing "one of two tropes"...I would have loved to hear the rest of what you were thinking. I understand it could be difficult, because you are expected to react to the movie in real time, and going into a full explanation of something could result in missing what's going on in the movie. I dunno. I know it's a tough call.

AC10

This was so much fun.

Githerax

If it helps, I think the two common wuxia tropes are grapes or strawberries. I might be misremembering. Wait no, maybe that's two common types of jelly. Never mind, I don't know. Yeah, I was wondering the same thing!

Chris Lüders

It's really a very funny movie. 😊 After this movie you could watch 'The 36th Chamber of Shaolin' (1978). 🐱‍👤

Rasgriz Rising

Definitely need to react to the other 2 kung fu panda movies Also if you react to more Jackie Chan, Who Am I is one of his best and doesnt get enough love, has one of his most dangerous stunts and one of his best just straight up martial arts fights
