Content

The last polls winners was Edge of Tomorrow and we'll be watching/filming our reactions later today and uploaded Saturday.

Simone is going on vacation around the end of July into start of August and as such there will be no polls on July 18th and July 25th

Which is why we are making this poll a big one, and the top 3 winners will become the next 3 weeks weekly Patreon voted for movie.

Weekly movie Poll will resume on August 1st.

no offense, but george cant watch galaxy quest before star trek watching, it would defeat the purpose

streaky

Small tangentially related point if it ever happens (and it should because 2 is even better than 1) that Deadpool 2 becomes a thing don't make the mistake that a lot of reactors have made and make sure you watch the original cut - the other cut is played purely for bonus laughs and actually changes the meaning of the movie from intended.. The other cut isn't a "Snyder" type cut where it is presumed to be more correct. Maybe it's a little early to make this comment but just in case it happens without a poll..

Dirk Rheeder

Come on people, don't let it be Deadpool :/

Marko T.

Die Hard 2. Its a good sequel. I think the third one is my favorite in the series.

Robert Cooper

Much like Kubrick, if there is a Mel Brooks option, you choose the Mel Brooks.

Sam Fuller

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles would make a good Thanksgiving movie, whether Canadian or US

Tara M. Wilcoxon

PLEASE watch "Young Frankenstein". I hope you have a great vacation, Simone! Wishing everyone an awesome week!

Haye Zeus

You don’t necessarily need to know too much about Star Trek to get Galaxy Quest. It’s a fun movie either way.

Thomas Yanez

I see people posting the usual 'you have to watch Star Trek before seeing "Galaxy Quest"' and now that I've seen many people react to the movie, I just don't agree with this anymore. It is far more useful to be familiar with the infamous interpersonal relationship issues that can happen between cast members of a show, and familiarity with the fandom/con experience, both of which extend well beyond just Star Trek. Both of these concepts are firmly embedded in pop culture now. Yes, there are some very specific jokes that are directly aimed at TOS content, both the show and behind-the-scenes with the cast, but they do almost nothing to interfere with the positive reactions I've seen from reactors with no actual Star Trek experience.

Phalanx

Deadpool should have the X-Men movies up to and including Wolverine: Origins as prerequisites. Deadpool 2 requires up to Logan. To fully get all the jokes and references, anyway,

redddfer44

Cool choices as ever. Enjoy your holiday, Simone!

Tyler Foster

Argh, no Blade Runner 2049 or Eternal Sunshine on here! AND people are going to vote for Deadpool...

QuiGon_Jim (Howe)

If Young Frankenstein doesn't come in the top 3 films chosen, ill have lost all faith in this community. Its by FAR the best film on that list.

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

I added Die Hard 2 to my votes but only because I want you to react to Die Hard 3, my favorite of the series

Fuzzy

Can I just vote for Lock, Stock three times?

Jay Davis

It's too bad Simone's already seen Galaxy Quest. As a trekkie, would've been fun to see her genuine, first reaction to it for all us other trekkies. Surely would've gotten my vote but alas. And, yes, I'll stop calling you Shirley.

micah

no blade runner 2049 again ☹️

Bill Woods

Die Hard 2 is a Christmas movie.

Ken Myers

Still no Next, Source Code, Crank, Frailty, Guns Akimbo, 13th Warrior, the Black Hole, Real Men, Human Nature, House... Why do reactors all keep choosing the same movies? Is a 20th reaction to Rocky 2 or Die Hard 2 better than having the 1st or 2nd reaction to any of these other movies?

Theoshin

I find the lack of Rocky Love Disturbing!

JarHead0351

What are doing to us?!? Too many great movies to pick from...lol they all have their own merits, which makes them great.

AC10

They had so much fun watching Kung Fu Panda 1. I want to see the 2nd.

Michael H

Gotta finish the Rocky series...well at least through 4, the rest not so much...but part 2 is great

Travis H

I’m new to the Patreon so apologies if this has been brought up, but have Simone/George seen the Magic Mike series? Their reaction to Magic Mike XXL would be AMAZING!

nossieboy

TCM getting no love :(

Austin Working

Like...I enjoy Deadpool. I think most of us do. And I'll watch their reaction to it, and I'll probably enjoy myself. But, I've seen every other reaction channel I watch do this movie already. There are so many other movies on this list that are just more interesting and not over-done. Oh well, like I said, I'll watch it anyway.

Thomas Yanez

I never understand why people complain about a reactor reacting to something other reactors have already reacted to. I'm not here to see a movie reacted to, I am here to see a person or group of people react to a given movie. I don't care how many people have reacted to "Deadpool", I want to see Simone and George react to it. I subscribe to multiple reactors' Patreon because I want to see each of those people reacting to movies I like (and some I don't like.)

Tyler Foster

Although you won't do a paid requests, maybe once a month there can be some kind of "draw a title out of a hat" thing where poll popularity is not the only factor.

Keith

React to Fury

Bill Pearson

Legends of the Fall Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Aiden Quinn. It will definitely keep your attention.

Who Are These People

Watching a movie with specific cultural references without the context isn't as enjoyable. For example, George has noticed that the US/Canadian audiences don't understand and thus don't fully appreciate the tropes and references in Chinese movies, so when he picked a Jackie Chan movie to show to Simone, it wasn't the iconic 'Drunken Master', it was 'Rush Hour'. Since George didn't grow up in the US culture and also hasn't seen any Star Trek, I will explain a few things to inform and enrich the references of 'Galaxy Quest' so that George will enjoy it more. Sure, we could watch George ask 'is that a reference to something?' over and over and over, or we could help him, right? So, George, a Star Trek summary: The original Star Trek series aired in 1966 and was cancelled after two seasons. It featured a small central cast, notably the very macho Captain Kirk, the emotionless Vulcan science officer Mr. Spock, and fiesty medical officer Dr. 'Bones' McCoy. Many episodes were heavily loaded with exposition (due to the small budget) and often revolved around a moral dilemma and ensuing discussion. William Shatner (Kirk) famously was forced to draw out scenes to fill time and overact dramatically to give energy to otherwise dry dialogue. George, watch this: https://youtu.be/RFI9F13FwD8 Fans loved the show so much they ran a letter-writing campaign to Paramount to have the show renewed, so it did get one more season. This was remarkable in the 60's, since there was no internet to post on forums and spread awareness. For twenty years, the original crew continued to produce Star Trek movies and appear at fan conventions. in 1986, 'Saturday Night Live' hosted by William Shatner did a skit called 'Get a Life', in which Shatner vented at a group of fans: https://youtu.be/ZaB_G1WNT70. Galaxy Quest is a parody of both the original show *and* the ensuing cultural phenomenon of 'Star Trek' fandom. If you watch the two clips I've linked, you'll get the basis of context for a lot of the humor of 'Galaxy Quest'.

ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! I know it’s a big ask but PLEASE do all of the Rocky films and the 2 Creed films! You really get to see a whole character’s life and get to really appreciate Stallone as an actor and writer as he evolves over 40 years! So please do the remaining 5 Rocky’s (yes even Rocky V lol) and it goes without saying the two Creed’s are also fantastic! On a side note Rocky Balboa (the sixth film) is probably my second favorite (just barely behind the original) so much heart and a terrific bookend to the original Rocky saga!! Love all of your Reactions btw, just finished the Reservoir Dogs and My Cousin Vinny Reactions (also my first watch) today!!!

AC10

Today is a good day... I wish you a wonderful vacation Simone. I hope George has some fun time off as well. See you in a few hours.

Torsten Maekler

Looks like "Deadpool", "Galaxy Quest" and "Young Frankenstein". Nice selection. I wonder how much Trek George has seen or does know about - and how he likes or dislikes Galaxy Quest in that context... .

Bob Bittner

I really don’t think you need much background with “Star Trek” to enjoy “Galaxy Quest.” The movie stands on its own.

Justin Wolford

I was really hoping die hard 2 would of won. I really want you guys to react to the rest of them.

Torsten Maekler

Just watched Ashleigh Burtons reaction to "Dead Poets Society". Man, can't wait for you two doing a reaction to that movie. Robin Williams. Also, when you do, don't forget his "Good Morning Vietnam". Two very, very excellent movies.

pichi4ever

Still waiting for Rocky II, and:

pichi4ever

The Game, 12 Monkeys, Scent of a Woman, and all Tarantino's left....PLEASE GUYS.

Joe Paquet

Really hoping they can finish the Cornetto trilogy

Armchair Rizzard

I can't really lose because I love Deadpool AND Galaxy Quest, but I'd love them to react to both.

AC10

Is anyone else looking forward to the 100,000 subscriber celebration video coming later this year? I wonder what they plan to do. I just rewatched the 50k video. It was just as fun the 2nd time. What would be fun for the 100k? Livestream hangout party? Renting a theater? Watch a whole movie live with them? I'm sure people here have great ideas.

Simon Clifton

I do apologise if this has already been mentioned, but as you're also working through other TV series, can I make a heartfelt plea for both series of Spaced? As you both enjoy the Cornetto trilogy, it would as film buffs be wonderful to see you work through the show that really cemented Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jessica Hynes and Edgar Wright as the talents they are. (Have the rips if needed...)

Jonathan

I'm new around here so I don't know if it was in a prior poll and didn't get the votes, but I think Mars Attacks would be a good time for everyone. :)

Brandon Meng

I am so sad There's Something About Mary didn't get into the top 3. It's an absolute all-time great, I hope you all make room for it in the future!

DM DC

I'm curious, has Simone seen the previous X-Men movies, and the prequals First Class; Days of Future Past, etcetera? Have either of them seen the travesty that was Green Lantern? (sorry if that last bit spoils anything for that one. lol)

Tyler Foster

Can't wait for Galaxy Quest.

Einherj

I suggest Waterworld (1995). It's a great post-apocalyptic adventure movie. I suggest watching the Ulysses cut, which is considered to be the definitive version.

Tenn Seven

How does Kung Fu Panda get more votes than Planes, Trains and Automobiles?

AC10

NO SPOILERS!!! Who here is excited about the new Top Gun movie? I hope they do a reaction and don't watch in theaters. For our sake. I think the new movie did what the original was trying to do. They really put the whole meaning of the top gun fighter pilot school on screen this time. I was expecting a lot from this new movie and I think it delivers. How do you think it stands up to the original? Again No Spoilers Please. Just looking for a general A to B comparison here.

John Howard

If you guys liked Deadpool you should really watch the Venture Brothers. It's the comic parody that becomes better than what it's parodying!

Eduardo Garcia

Thanks for the great reactions yous twos! Gotta keep Lock Stock up though! It’s so fucking good, also where can I put in a suggestion? You guys have to watch Crossroads with Ralph Maccio and Joe Seneca, classic movie about the blues! I’m just a bit worried about the music is all.
