Jonah

I personally am here for the Simone verbal diarrhea. lol

JediLounger

So they were for sure out to make money for the sequels, but I was shocked at how legitimately good they were. The casts are great, the scripts are hilarious, and they advanced the idea in fun ways. I would watch them.

Andrew Smith

This is a fun movie and actually surprisingly good.

Persnickity

Haha you should hide more low key George quotes Simone. Mr. Castanza would appreciate you practicing his line

FrancescoTakesItEasy

Love this movie! Saw it in a theater back in '95 when I was ten years old. For a family film it's quite dark. Thanks for covering it!

Ben

Delighted to see you reacted to this, not that it's my favourite film or anything, it is primarily a kids movie after all, but for what it is, it's a genuinely fun adventure with a good story and atmosphere. I love anchorman and really enjoyed laughing along with your reactions, but I was disappointed Jumanji didn't win because I was in the mood for a "cosy" comfortable fun movie, so I'm going to look forward to checking out your reactions. Then again, maybe nostalgia is clouding my judgement and it won't be as good as I remembered! but I guess we'll see!

Elvenwitch

This was the first Laserdisk I bought when I moved to Japan if I remember correctly. It came out the year I graduated from high school.

Chris Davies

The more recent Jumanji movies are actually pretty good

Maya

both the new jumanji movies are really good despite being pretty different tonally from the original. imo they really showcase the correct way to reboot an ip

Prof. Writhms

I recommend "Zathura: A Space Adventure" (2005). It's a movie based on a story by the same author as "Jumanji". It's the same premise, a board game. Only its science fiction this time. It's pretty good! Directed by Jon Favreau.

Carlos Hurtado

You should check out the new movies. They are a lot of fun.

Odd Thomas

Robin Williams is amazing in Insomnia. Very dark thriller by Christopher Nolan.

Jeff I.

Insomnia is a great film. Al Pacino does a good job in it as well. For someone who wants a completely different kind of Robin Williams from his more famous comedic roles, I always suggest the psychological thriller 'One Hour Photo'.

Walter White

yes george that many 12 lb paint cans falling on you would would kill ya xD

Logan Kerlee

Love that you two were singing Barbara Ann at the start. That's a good tune!

Logan Kerlee

lmao!! xD You both are a riot! I watched this for the first time back when it was in theaters, as a kid. Oh wow, I'm going to enjoy this reaction. :) (I'll just be commenting on this to not spam the feed)

redddfer44

I'd have loved it if the endlessly rolling die had got stuck in a small obstacle and they'd all argue what the actual number is and then the game punished them for rolling badly.

TGrimace

I'd like to recommend 'The Game'. Michael Douglass movie that is part of the Criterion Collection. An amazing movie, and I think the reactions would be amazing too.

Logan Kerlee

This movie was an adventure comedy - back in the day at least. I loved watching this with you both. :) Had a lot o fun! :) A good trip down memory lane. Loads of memories came flooding back! hahahaha, I remember imagining loads of scenarios with fierce animals that were hunting me or people I know. Crazy stuff! lmao, didn't both me though. My dad was/is basically the tamed down version of that hunter dude. Loads of guns and plenty of know how in using them. This didn't scare me at all though! It was just an exciting and fun film. Definitely a mind trip. :) Whoever it was that recommending this one - THANK YOU!! The new one(s) are so disappointing in comparison. I've watched them both and felt that they were boring in comparison. If Cinebinge chooses to watch them, I'll watch but I'll be muttering how cool the original is in comparison the whole time. :P

Logan Kerlee

They aren't for me. I can't seem to enjoy them. They don't have the magic feel like this one does. It feels more artificial with the newer movies.

Logan Kerlee

I SUPPORT this idea! xD Jeff Daniels is a laugh, alright!

Josh B.

The new ones are really fun so I hope you guys react to those as well, they are not as great as the original but they are two fun movies that have their own fun twist on the concept.

David Guin

Zathura (2005) is Jumanji in space ;)

Odd Thomas

People always forget about Zathura, which is also based on one of the books. It's as good as, if not better than, Jumanji. I'd argue Jon Favreau's work on it was a big reason he got Iron Man. I hope you guys watch it!

Jayson Phillips

That was sooo fun! yeah screw the spiders! Even an older movie can be so great with Robin Williams. Yeah I identify as an out of shape Rhino!

AC10

So so much fun! And the movie was great too.

Andrew T

I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet that, like Patricia Clarkson, Bonnie Hunt, who played Sarah Whittle, was also in The Green Mile.

Travis

The new versions have almost nothing to do with this or the book. They just took the concept, modernized it and blended it with other pre-existing tropes. Kids play a video game and get sucked in and become adult characters within the game. I think they just borrowed the Jumanji name for easier marketability. As sus as some of the special fx were in this, for 1995 standards they were amazing and I’m surprised how well the held up.

Torsten Maekler

Yeah. The new ones are different but entertaining as well. So give them a shot. Worth your time.

RLYtoxic

Robin Williams making the clue joke, makes me wanna watch Clue now. Clue very good movie.

Bob Bittner

You should definitely check out the newer movies. Rather than producing a remake—the filmmakers really respect this version as untouchable—they wanted to take a different approach with a modern interpretation.

JayF

Can we get Backdraft added to the list? Ron Howard directed it. Kurt Russell, Robert DeNiro, Scott Glen, Rebecca De Mornay, Donald Sutherland, and others.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Recognized Patricia Richardson as the warden's wife in The Green Mile, but Sarah was played by Bonnie Hunt, who played Tom Hanks' wife in The Green Mile. Also, since a lot of us are talking about other great Robin Williams movies, I have to go with one of not only my favorite Robin Williams movies and one of his first, if not very first movies, but also one of my all time favorite movies in general: The World According To Garp It's amazing, funny and smart, also one of John Lithgow's earliest movie performances and it's a good one. You will be surprised by this movie.

Lucifer Moon

There is also a pseudo-canon spiritual-successor to the first Jumanji, I think it was called Zathura: a space adventure.

Kinokind

It was indeed "Zathura", which id essentially"Jumanji" as an outer space themed game. I know it sound cheesy and derivative when described thaty

Kinokind

Typos! . . .when described that way, but I think it is equally good.

Craig Brennan

Even though not a part of the Jumanji Trillogy the 2005 movie Zathura: A Space Adventure is a part of the franchise.

Samuel Vincent

I'm glad you enjoyed this movie. It was so well done, and the CG isn't bad considering it's 27 years old....man I feel really old now. If you are a Robin Williams fan, you should check out Hook.

SuicuneSol

Guilty childhood pleasure. :) I thought the lion was amazing for a practical prop. Certain features of the lion really popped even though it wasn't real. I don't consider this a Robin Williams film though. He's a good actor, but he's capable of so much more.

Onno Smits

I also strongly recommend Zathura, it's a lot of fun.
