How is their version of this movie 6 minutes longer? There's literally only one version of this movie, I'm so confused

Steve H

I was a Junior in high school when this happened, I wish the whole mess happed the way this movie did.

Steve H

I'ld watch the FBI, myself on ABC, channel 7, every Sunday night

punterjoe

Between this and Inglorious Basterds, I'm glad Quentin became a filmmaker and not a history teacher. 😏

Steve H

That girl who tried to pick up on the stunt-man, the girl was the little girl in "Kill Bill"

Jesse Coombs

related to this and the Hateful Eight, I hope you guys watch "Death Proof" soon. One of my favorite Tarantino movies.

Jesse Coombs

This is another request for you guys to react to "The Great Escape".

Andrew Smith

Awesome choice this is a fantastic movie.

Sean Barbante

I was just thinking earlier today that I'd love for you both to watch this movie. Can't wait to watch along.

Odd Thomas

My favourite Tarantino after Kill Bill. Have you guys watched Death Proof yet?

Ned Warbone

The ending of this film is incredible. A happy ending that makes you sad with a sense of loss, seeing a reality that never was

Kenneth thomas

This movie gets better every time i watch it. This is prob my 4th or 5th time watching with you guys, and I'm starting to think it's my favorite Tarantino film

Martin Nicholls

I've mentioned this movie a couple of times - but I was just thinking about it yesterday during the Apocalypse Now reaction when they get their mail bag there's a newspaper front page and it talks about the Tate murder. Little crazy.

David Martin

"Was that a real film?" The Great Escape is a GREAT real film and should be on your short list. There are so many factual things mixed in with the fictional things in this movie, the older viewers have an advantage, since they can separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. I haven't counted, but I think the best course would be to consider anything you don't know to be fictional to be factual.

JayF

Other Al Pacino films I'd love to see you react to are Heat (which I'm sure has already been suggested at some point), The Insider, Serpico, and Donnie Brasco. All of them have great casts and are rated at least a 7.7 on IMDB.

Young Blood Priest

No lie. The Great Escape is a must watch. I might be alone on this one but Dean Martin in the Mat Helm films are some of my favorite 1960s turn off your brain shake your head and enjoy flicks.

Martin

This is a very nice surprise to wake up to. One of my favorite Tarantino movies.

Disciple_of_M

You guys were wondering if the girl who played Beatrix’s daughter in Kill Bill continued to work. She’s in this film as the girl Brad Pitt picks up who’s selling acid cigarettes.

Mati D.

The Hateful eight next please from Tarantino.

Odd Thomas

Austin Butler, who plays Tex, is Elvis in the new movie. I hope you guys watch it; it's my favourite film I've seen this year.

Jeff

The ending is the greatest catharsis I've ever felt in a film. The release of of all the tension built in anticipation of the murders is perfect.

Brant

You guys should do Death Proof at some point. Tarantino’s most underrated film.

olly.enn

You missed a scene during the credits... (maybe best to leave the credits play to the end im the background while you have your discussion? I think you in fact do that from time to time, no?)

ChickensAreRacist

As far as what’s next/last for Tarantino, I’m hoping it reveals how all his movies are tied in his universe.

Grandmaster B

Gotta put in a vote for Jackie Brown.

JayF

The Great Escape is indeed a real film. Leo was digitally put into a real scene from it in place of Steve McQueen. Hopefully you'll get to it sometime and remember the scene from this movie.

Jack Burton

Why is George surprised that a famous rich dude in the 60's is wearing clothing similar to Austin Powers? Where do you think Austin Powers got the idea? This is the 60's. It was a style. :)

Com1xguy

One of my favorite movies and you are watching it!! I am beyond excited. I love this movie so much.

REDR58

It makes me wonder how many references to things like The Great Escape and other films George misses in The Simpsons!

Philipp Roensch

A great Tarantino movie, truly a love letter to old Hollywood. As you correctly deduced, this was a fairy tale in the end, with happy ending and all. Blew me away in cinemas and your reaction was joyous to watch as always. Cool BTS detail: they actually filmed with restored oldtimers on the main roads in LA, stopping a lot of traffic, but also filled in many of the skyline with the historical buildings via CGI. It's practically invisible and top notch.

Haye Zeus

Okay you got this one out of the way, next should be Jackie Brown.

JoeySnowyNoey

I enjoyed this movie but it just seemed random? Lol it’s like if this wasn’t made by a famous director I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t of gotten made. Haha

Thomas Yanez

That's kind of what he does, though - he doesn't make other people's movies or follow studio algorithms. He writes, directs and produces the movies he wants to make telling the stories he wants to tell and people who want in on the money distribute it for him.

Gary Fixler

There are so many interesting little things in this movie, at least to me. Pussycat is played by Andie MacDowell's daughter, Margaret Qualley. The family member who goes back for her knife and flees in the car is played by Maya Hawke, daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman (she's also Robin on Stranger Things). Another family member is Harley Quinn Smith, daughter of Kevin Smith. I didn't even recognize her, but Squeaky, the girl in Spahn's house was Dakota Fanning. The friend who visits Margot, and gets the tour of the house, is Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Booth's wife on the boat wasn't recognizable, in the hat and glasses, but it was Rebecca Gayheart, who everyone knew in the early 90s, because she was on TV for years as the cute Noxzema girl in a long-running add campaign. When Booth first enters Spahn's house, a Noxzema commercial is playing on the TV in the background. Probably unrelated. The old man Margot picks up the book from in the store is famous old western actor, Clu Gulager, whose name I know especially because Mystery Science Theater had a field day with it in several of their riffs. He just died in August. George asked who the familiar cowboy was in the scene where Dalton kept forgetting his lines. That's Timothy Olyphant. You'll remember him as the marshal in the first episode of season 2 of the Mandalorian, the one protecting the town in the mando armor he bought. I probably missed a bunch. There's so much going on in this film.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

So we're reacting, to George and Simone reacting, to Rick and Cliff reacting, to... I love this movie on so many levels. And it's made for people who love movies so much they love movies about movies, me. And how about that soundtrack kids? Pretty swell!

redddfer44

The Eye-talian that Rick did a spaghetti western for was Sergio Corbucci, the guy who made the original Django in -66. Really hopin' that one of them days yall gonn' make a Western poll, pardon my horrendous axe-ent, and include some classic spaghettis in it.

David Martin

I have a hard time believing anything in Tarantino's films is unrelated or coincidence. Just too many details to consider.

Daniel Popp

So Damian Lewis (AKA: Winters from Band of Brothers) playing Steve McQueen was a nod to the fact that McQueen himself was almost at the Polanski residence the same night the murders occurred. According to his wife, he was attracted to Sharon Tate, knew Roman would fuck up at some point, and he was planning to catch her on the rebound. But, he decided to meet up with a girlfriend of his that night instead. Many think things would’ve gone a lot differently if he was there. Possibly like how it went down in this movie. He wasn’t a veteran like Cliff, but McQueen did serve in the Marines, so he had training in hand to hand combat.

Ethan Holgate

Oh Wow that's crazy I had no idea about that, it does make you wonder how things would have played out if that happened of course in QTs eyes we get to see it in a wish fulfillment way

E.P.B.F.

Yeah the Great Escape is a real movie. In fact it is a _great_ movie.

Steve H

There was a Show called "FBI, I watched it myself regularily

Steve H

Love how Tarrentino ended this, hell yea!

Doctor Horton

the steve mcqueen film was the great escape, and it is a real film. I think that was Leo's character imagining himself as the lead
