You're missing out if you haven't watched Death Proof. Planet Terror is the other film in that double feature, directed by Robert Rodriguez, and it is sort of a sequel since both films share at least one character and setting in common.

It so weird how much she looks like her dad Peter Fonda

Rayna & Mike Sitter

Tarantino's best film. I'm so glad you guys finally got to this one. Max Cherry is one of my favorite characters, and Robert Forster should have won an Oscar for him.

Tom H

I just noticed for the first time at 2:04: Casting by Jaki Brown lol

Jim Frykman

Ahh man, so excited for this one! My favorite Tarantino film!

Ken Myers

If you want to see all Quentin Tarantino movies, you should include FOUR ROOMS, starring Tim Roth (from Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction) which is partially written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. And it is just a really fun movie experience.

Joe Williams

Max is one of those rare things in a Tarantino movie: an unashamedly good guy.

Brent Garripee

Pulp Fiction changed my perspective of what films could do, how stories could be told, but I think, at the end of the day, Jackie Brown is my favorite of his. Max's last shot guts me every time. Hits *hard*.

My favourite Tarantino movie too. (Well, of the ones I've seen anyway.) It's more subtle and nuanced than a lot of them. Elmore Leonard's written a lot of books like this - pulpy stories about people double-crossing each other - and a lot of them were turned into movies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmore_Leonard#Adaptations

Also, bail bonds: I'm pretty sure LeagleEagle has a video about this somewhere. Instead of making people sit in prison while they wait for their trial date, they make them put up money as collateral. When the trial's over, win or lose, you get your money back, and in the meantime you're free to live your life. Unless you don't show up, in which case the state keeps your money AND charges you with failing to appear in court. One reason this is abusive to defendants is, obviously, rich people can better afford to pay their bail, go on with their lives, and get their money back later. Poor people are less able to afford bail in the first place, in which case they do have to stay in prison until the trial, AND sitting in prison will screw them over more. And supposedly people are innocent until proven guilty, so it's not fair to put them in jail before they're convicted just because they don't have money for collateral. I don't know what to replace the system with, though, because there needs to be some incentive not to just skip town after being charged with something. Bail bondsmen are basically loan sharks. They loan people money for bail, so that they can stay out of jail until their trial. If the person shows up for court, the bondsman gets the bail money back, plus keeps the interest on the loan. If they don't show up, the bondsman loses the money they put up, so they have a vested interest in making sure people show up in court. That's why they do stuff like picking people up when they get out of jail after paying the bail, and keeping tabs on them until their court date. And, if they do skip town, hiring bounty hunters to drag them back. They've taken on the risk of losing the bail money if this person doesn't show up.

Christoph Plank

All of his movies are subtle and nuanced, don't take everything at face value. It just seems that way, because this is a great love story and has a more open ending.

If you want a good Michael Keaton film, "Multiplicity" is great.

You two really have to watch a Sergio Leone movie like "The good, the bad and the ugly" or "Once upon a time in the West" to see where Tarantino got much of his inspiration on how to make movies. Much of his camera-technique is like straight of of a Leone movie. They are long movies but they are worth it.... and you could make 2 YouTube videos for one of the movies :)

Blacky

Even without the Tarantino connection, a movie like The Good, The Bad, The Ugly is both a masterpiece and very enjoyable. And works well in the Reaction format (with work, of course). The pseudo-trilogy would be even better, but choices have to be made...

Mr TV Eye

Yes, to me True Romance feels like a "true" Tarantino movie. Even more than some of his later works. Then again, he wrote the script for Natural Born Killers, too, and while a good movie, that on doesn't feel like a Trantino movie. Maybe because of Stones very special directing style.

Maarten Martens

1. Kill Bill Vol. 1 -. Kill Bill Vol. 2 3. Pulp Fiction 4. Inglourious Basterds 5. Django Unchained 6. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 7. Jackie Brown 8. Reservoir Dogs 9. The Hateful Eight I never saw Death Proof and Jackie Brown was the first Tarantino I saw. Maybe I should give it another viewing. Kill Bill is in a category of its own for me, it combines everything I love about Tarantino and film making in general.
