Final Destination - Patreon Version

Comments

redddfer44

It's 3pm here when the videos air, or 2pm now that we're in winter time. They usually air right when I'm done with the necessary stuff of the day! I watch Patreon video start chit chat first, then if I'm interested in the movie, a bit later. (EDIT: Also, you two are really lovable :3 EDIT 2: ALSO FUCKING SANDSTORM)

JediLounger

Oh snap. Keep going. They are cheesy and silly and probably more suitable for Cinecringe in a lot of ways, but it pays off. They are so much fun. Watch them all with Simone. Edit 1: I watch most of your stuff when they land at 7am for me. It’s how I start my day. Edit 2: I promise you, KEEP GOING. If you want to see some creative deaths, every movie is hilariously awesome. I just finished the movie with you guys, George they are all bad movies, but you guys should watch them all.

W T

Released at 1 pm in Germany, lazy day so I might dive in sooner rather than later. Usually gonna wait until in the evening or some other day, sometimes I wake up at 4 am and just watch a reaction I saved for a rainy day. No telling, really.

Jack Burton

Never had any interest in these movies. Bummer.

Prof. Writhms

You Cinebingers should check out the movie that many would call the forerunner of the Final Destination franchise. "The Omen" (1976)

Thomas Yanez

*puppy head tilt* ... oh, because there isn't a killer per se, and some deaths seems like an "act of God"? I can see that, if that is what you mean. Especially "Damien: Omen II".

Thexx

Thanks for sharing. Please go on and tell the world about everything else you don't have an interest in. /s

Fabian Kracik

If I remember right, the second one is also worth a watch...I've seen 3-5 as well but can't remember the tiniest bit

mpd

we need more 'Clear' license plates in the gift shop, I repeat, we are sold out of 'Clear' license plates

E.P.B.F.

The paper snippet says 'Tod' not 'Todd'. Tod means Death in German, as in the concept or the entity since it is capitalized as a noun (i.e The Grimreaper itself). Which makes sense in the context of the movie.

George's "creepy fan" joke at 7:15 is pretty funny, considering the guy who plays Alex in this played "Stan" in the Eminem music video. I quite enjoyed that movie, it was silly, but I honestly don't think that's a bad thing when it comes to movies. The early 2000's cheesiness is so distinct, it's hard to explain it though. I think "The Butterfly Effect" would probably be a good reaction, haven't seen it in years but it was the first movie to come to mind after watching this. There are some similar themes but I don't think it's as cheesy as this.

Prof. Writhms

To answer your question, George: I usually comment on a movie as soon as there is a notification on my phone, if something in particular comes to mind. I will watch the full reaction later on. And I only watch the YT edited version if its a movie I don't care to re-watch in full, just to see you and Simone react. And if its a movie I don't like, just be careful crossing the road. 🙂

King_Panarisi

Vid's usually come out 14:00h Brussels time for me and watch them at 19:00h or 20:00h Brussels time.

Odd Thomas

I think the first two are the best. 3 is decent too but 4 and 5 are diminishing returns, though still kinda entertaining

Odd Thomas

I tend to watch your vids asap, unless it's a film I'm indifferent about

Justin Wolford

Im from ohio and i work nite shift. I get home about 8am take a shower make dinner and then settle in to watch the newest installment in what i consider a movie club because not only do i get the pleasure of simone and George's visual reaction but the reaction of the other patrons in the comments. Then i go to bed. I also hit up youtube once a week to like all the videos to show my support, lol.

Kocyte

I watch as soon as I get home from work, which is usually around 2pm central time in the US.

sarCC

I usually watch it the night after it drops, unless I've seen the movie too recently or if it's more appropriate to watch later(saving Gremlins for Xmas!).

gobmob2000

I always imagine that they show this film at health and safety seminars.

Monica Alarcon

on thursdays (and saturdays when I have to work) I watch the patreon version after work, on the weekends I watch shortly after waking up... Then I watch the edited versions on youtube when they're released to the public... And sometimes when I'm feeling down I re-watch youtube versions, like last night I watched both Jumanji videos...

Monica Alarcon

In my opinion this series is very consistent, all of the movies are at least fun, mainly because the story and characters don't really matter but the set pieces are fun and it keeps you guessing how they're going to die and the deaths are creative... the second one is my favorite followed by the 3rd, and the fift one has a great payoff at the end... so go for it!

Thomas Yanez

I enjoyed watching you guys continuing to come up with guesses and being able to think, "No... no... it's dumber than that. You'll get there."

Thomas Yanez

Oh, and something I've seen in a few of your videos is happening here... even though I am perfectly synched with the video, your reaction is running almost a full second ahead of the onscreen action. Simone jumped well before the hand of the cadaver moved and Candyman showed up.

Robb

Since we doing this one a reaction to the saw series would be hella fun

Kinokind

I had forgotten how many inside movie jokes there were in the character names. Val Lewton was the famous director of "Cat People", other characters are named (Alfred) Hitchcock, (Lon) Chaney, (Tod) Browning, (F. W.) Murnau, (Carl) Dreyer, etc. Even Agent Schreck is named for Max Schreck, the actor who played the vampire in "Nosfaratu", who's name is, in turn, a joke, since Schreck means" fear" in German! As for sequels, I think of it as being like the "Die Hard" franchise. Numbers 1 and 3 were directed by Wong, and are better than 2, which was not. My personal favorite is 3, mostly because of the amusement park rollercoaster theme, and the quality of the acting. Number 2 has a bunch of strangers flung together rather than student friends, and I think it suffers for it. I would rate them 3, 1, 2, then, don't bother. Much like Die Hard. Although many fans consider the original to be the best, and I wouldn't argue against that.

Kinokind

Oh, I forgot, there was a scene where Clear and Alex got it on when they were on the beach, and a plot element later where she gives birth and that disrupts death's plan, but the director and producer decided to go a different way. I believe Alex was killed by sacrificing himself to pull the power line off the car. I think they made a good decision. George did correctly observe their unexplained closeness later.

Middy

If you're watching it for the plot, sure. If you just wanna see people trying and failing to cheat death, they're all worth at least one go each.

Middy

That's first time I've ever seen somebody call it dumb. The general consensus seemed to be that people were appreciative of the fact it wasn't just something trite and basic like "sCaRy WiTchEs WoOo". It was considered quite creative and a breath of fresh air for the horror genre having existential uncertainty as the antagonist, even the negative reviews acknowledged this.

JoeySnowyNoey

Love this movie! It’s so fun and goofy!

redddfer44

I just watched the second one for the first time. Personally, I think it's a significant improvement in all respects over the original. Recommended for grisly fun times!

JayF

"Officer, we are having a doozy of a day."

Logan Kerlee

I'm watching this a day late but only because I wasn't on my computer a ton yesterday. LUL Only for you George! <3 hahahaha

Jetofi

I didn´t expect song"Darude - Sandstorm" in the beginning :) Thanks for that.

Logan Kerlee

Really enjoyed this! Unfortunately my long ass comment was deleted because my power went out for 20 minutes or so. Bit bummed about that. I'm glad you both enjoyed the movie, though! This movie's definitely a blast from the past. The sequels are more of the same but with less good acting. That's how I see it at least. Worth watching if you enjoyed this type of content. :)

KnittingHaven

If you enjoy this one at all, I think all the sequels but 4 are worth watching. I like 2 and 5 the best, but 3 is also pretty good.

JoeySnowyNoey

I watch these randomly just whatever I feel like watching! Lol if y'all make one of these for a movie I loved I watch them right away! Like if I wasn't busy yesterday I would've already seen this! This is one of my favorite movies. It's so goofy and fun.

Onno Smits

2 is the best if I recall correctly. This was more fun than I remembered it being!

redddfer44

Okay, so I actually watched all of these and read some comments on them. I'm in the camp that liked 2 and 5 best. Some like 1 and 3 best. Pretty much no one likes the fourth one. A lot of folks think, and I agree, that the series is exceptionally even in quality for a horror franchise (except the fourth one). The fifth one ranks highest in Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and Cinemascore. If the first one does well on the channel and you had reasonably fun with this one, I'd say they're worth a watch. All of them are enjoyably short, as well.
