Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012) please watch this underrated Steve Carrell film

BND

Mission Impossible was a TV show in the 60's, the opening credits were meant to pay homage to the opening of the TV show.

Damian

Excellent reaction. You seemed to follow it a lot more than I did on first watch (or maybe that’s good editing). As I remember the films get less spy-craft and more action-y from one film to the next. Not too their detriment as those are great summer-blockbuster films. Can’t wait for reactions on those and the crazy Tom Cruise stunts (Ghost protocol’s might be the best). Any chance of finishing off any other franchises soon?…Rocky/Matrix (I know I am the only one who likes 2 and 3)/remaining Nolan films, come to mind.

Donald Selvester

I think just the fact that Jim was alive caused Ethan to be suspicious and start thinking through the possibility of Jim being the mole. Ultimately, everything fitted and made more sense that it being Kitteridge.

Oscar Diggs

When De Palma gets it right, he is the best there is.

People will tell you the second mission impossible is bad. I don't know if I agree but what I'm sure of is that I love it. It's expertly directed by John Woo but sadly the American public isn't used to his style. Don't get me wrong MI2 is a bit silly but sooo much fun :) I personally don't like the third one at all. I feel it's stuck in the early 2000's and we all know what that's like... 4 is Brad Bird !! Great film all over!

redddfer44

Yay, a like-minded soul! I used to despise 2, but now I kinda love it. It's unlike anything else on the market. The third one I actually -- and I don't use this word easily -- hate. All its storytelling and cinematic choices are the absolute opposite of what I want from a film.

Twiska Brand

I say watch 2. It is unjustly hated.

Michael

I'm so glad to see someone else thinks Brad Bird's live-action directorial debut, Ghost Protocol, has the best action! I love the whole franchise, even the flawed or less-loved ones like 2, and while I really dig Fallout I've been seeing a lot of fans online treat that as the defacto peak, but GP is one of my favorite action movies ever and has some of the most inventive and well shot sequences and set pieces, a fun thrilling plot, great characters, and one of my favorite climactic dangerous saves-the-day moves I've seen any action hero think of. Hope these 2 react to the whole series but especially Ghost Protocol.

Mr TV Eye

And it was a great show (for it's time). And exactly the reason I don't like the movies. Making Phelps the Traitor was just a smack in the face for everyone who loved the original series. Plus it was always an ensemble series, where everyone in the team had his special talents and was more or less equally important. In the movie, they made Cruise more or less a single super hero with some sidekicks.

Generators

i can imagine he prob wanted to say something but decided not to so people will stop telling him to stop using his brain or whatever.

Kris Brown

For more films like this; Ronin, Sneakers, and No Way Out.

BlackOpsElf

I noticed you didn't notice who the white haired agent is.

Damian

Sneakers is amazing, the concepts hold up quite well today, quote it all the time "It's all about the information". A charming and delightful film to boot.

MatthewBrown74m

I say give mi2 a try and mi3 is pretty good but 4 5 6 are the best ones

warcrimes

These first couple of MIs are bad but MI3 and beyond are good. Look forward to them

JoeNotCharles

It's funny to hear you singing the Bond theme every time the Mission Impossible theme starts, because in my mind the MI theme is just as famous! (Also you should definitely watch the TV show. Leonard Nimoy's in it!)

Brian Harris

MI 2 is kinda garbage, MI 3 has one of the best action movie villains of the last twenty years, and 4, 5, and 6 are all just Tom Cruise topping himself with stunts again and again. That’s not AT ALL a complaint. I think Cruise is a scumbag as a human being and a lazy actor, but his physical performances are all-time. On par with Chan and Chaplin.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

Lazy actor? The dude puts more time, energy, and effort into his art than anyone else. He's no Philip Seymour Hoffman but he's also no Charlie Sheen either. He's not a scumbag either. He literally stops to help people in trouble while others just drive on by. Only thing I actually do agree with you on is that he's on par with Chan and Chaplin and might I add Buster Keaton.

Turnt SNACO

Didn't like 2 as much as 1, went on too long, and a little ridiculous. I liked 3 much better.

AC10

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAit Wait wait wait.......... 1:41 Did this movie steal the midnight bowling music from my local bowling alley or did my local bowling alley steal this music from this movie??????? Genuine question! For Years of my life I bowled to this music over and over and over... I Feel Robbed!!

Crow

Enjoyed this reaction, as usual :) I really hope you guys do the rest of the series. IMO, after a slight dip in the second one, they just get better and better as they go, which seems to be the general consensus. Even the second one I thought was good too, just not on par with the rest.

Marc Post

Definitely check out the rest. These movies are all great

Luis Torrefranca

Have you seen "Sneakers" yet? If not, consider it for the list.
