George’s history-loving brain immediately goes “I wonder if I could meet some old ass ghosts”

Ginger

Why would anyone get angry about you describing the poster? It's the best part! :D

Drew

George's thumbnail ability is the stuff of legends

Bruce Bromley

George, of course you've seen references to the pottery scene. It was spoofed in the Naked Gun.

Dave Gaskin

I really love this movie. I was 13 when it came out so me & my friends got all squirmy at the pottery wheel scene but as I’ve gotten older, I appreciate it so much more on so many levels. Great reaction as always.

Gaius Frakking Baltar

Regarding George's question about how the movie was advertised: the trailer for Ghost portrayed it as a fantasy romance drama, emphasizing some of the crime action and murder mystery elements of the story. The trailer also gave away most of the plot with some big-time spoilers - why the hell do trailers do that so often? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uubih798tg

The great movie that has a little of everything—romance, drama, suspense, and good heap of comedy in Oda Mae Brown. Plus, it has the best line when you find yourselves in a potentially troublesome situation and you want to lighten the mood: “Molly, you in danger, girl.” I still use that quote today.

Ginger

At the time, that pottery scene was parodied and copied at least as much as the Mission: Impossible "hanging from a wire" scene or the Matrix bullet time shots.

Vincent

These thumbnails! 🤣

michael clarke

this was really enjoyable to watch with you. for sure one of your best episodes.

Pam Nail

This movie came out when I was in high school and everyone was obsessed with it. I remember my band friends and I being especially into the soundtrack. And those "bad place" spirits still freak me out (the sound is what really makes it).

More dramas please! This was great. I feel like you guys could do a ton more tear-jerker type dramas and it'd be awesome. A great one to start with would be the Notebook because it's so popular but a movie like Manchester by the Sea would be perfect!

Oscar Diggs

The most copied scene is probably the astronaut hero walk from "The Right Stuff." It's so common that people reference the references when they want to go "Oh, that's from movie name"

Rachel W

"The Right Stuff " would be a great film for them to react to--as it too is a combo film with drama comedy, adventure, sci fi, romance and the best part is it's a true story!

Adam Amaya

I’m sure you guys have a ton of movies to watch already so I’m sure this comment will get lost, but in light of it being the holidays you should look into the movie Jack Frost(1998) with Michael Keaton. I’ve watched it every year since it came out basically and it’s so damn good.

Logan Kerlee

I'm not a huge fan of The Notebook, but I'd be down to check Manchester by the Sea out. Haven't watched that before.

Octarine Wind

If you're in the mood for another "Ghost"-like movie, try "Chances Are" with Robert Downey Jr.

BNJ

"Does that mean Patrick Swayze's character has never committed a sin?" Not sure if you were joking or not when you asked this but it's not that he's never committed a sin, it's that he's a good person. Obviously there are different beliefs regarding afterlife among different cultures but I guess in this instance it has more to do with what kind of person you are.

HeyHeyJK

I'd offer up "Truly Madly Deeply" with the great, late Alan Rickman. Be sure you have tissues at the ready.

Crow

This has always been one of my favorites from that general time. On a similar note, I'd love it if you guys checked out What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams at some point. So good....maybe my favorite of his in terms of his acting etc.
