This movie is as bad as I remember. I think they really should have just stopped after the first one. I haven't seen Prey yet but this and AvP kind of killed my enthusiasm for the franchise.

Prey is great. In a similar fashion to the original movie, all the natives are bad-ass which in turn elevates the predator. Superb action, good story and no unnecessary filler dialogue.

Also: between Running Man yesterday and Predator 2 today, it's just become a full-on Maria Conchita Alonso celebration weekend. "Here's a theory..." "Gary Busey's an alien?" George, she said a theory, not a proven, real-life fact.

George, i just pitched you cannibal holocaust on the instagram page. simone is playing "the forest", i just came from her stream. that game is based on this film. picture 'the blair witch' except the director was put on trial because people were so convinced it was real, they thought the actors were murdered. they literally had to testify at their own murder trial where they were the deceased. its a hard watch. its among the most unpleasant films you will ever see, but it is well made. this is a cultural touchstone. if we dont have it, we dont have found footage films... period.

Predator is genuinely excellent. I think Simone mentioned at the time how the movie does a good job of ramping up the tension. It had quiet bits punctuating the action, but the tension continued to rise. This seems a lot more stop-start and kills the atmosphere. Saw predator 2 when it first came out, thought it was ok then, and think it’s a little worse than that now. Predators is good with a similar style to the first film - elite fighters in the middle of nowhere fighting - with a twist to keep it interesting. Prey is excellent, can’t wait for your reaction. Oh, and more Simone-Arnie impressions please. Excellent work! And we’ve established Arnie doesn’t have to be in the film to break out the accent.

Alien vs Predator was a game first, Pred-alien hybrids were really bad news. Predator vision is not just heat based, the soldiers here are just mis-informed. Predator masks have a whole bunch of vision options, that seem almost modular in nature. They prep their vision modes for the environment they are in, which makes sense as they are essentially an advanced alien race on safari. Love the idea of the financial Predator caste that takes down traders using advanced alien economic theory.

I know Prey changed the story behind the flintlock pistol that the predator gave him at the end but I prefer the original story, the one with the pirates. It's so much better than what they did in Prey IMO. Honestly they should have made a movie about that story instead of Prey.

Yeah, they should not have had the pistol in Prey. It was the lamest part of the film. It's like they realized they were in the right time period so they decided to throw it in at the last minute. I didn't read the comics so didn't know it was pirate related, but a Predator on a pirate island and a pirate ship would have been pretty awesome. They should make that film and should've saved the pistol until then.
