Jay Davis

You're no Falling Down but, sure... I'll take this bunny out of the box.

Martin Nicholls

This movie has so many actors I really like, it's really stupid but also kinda smart in a weird way and importantly they remembered to do that thing that so many movies forget: bring the funny.

JediLounger

I’m watching the intro and…they have have no idea what they are about to watch lol.

Greymond

I've got a bit of a hidden gem for you guys. "A Monster Calls" with Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson. I never hear ANYONE talk about that one.

BND

please add Face/Off to a future poll, it's such a crazy movie I have a feeling it'll be right up your alley

JayF

In the 80s and 90s we did love our "turn your brain off and enjoy" action movies. This is a fun one and I *think* it's your intro to John Cusack. Please please please watch some of his movies - Comedies - Grosse Pointe Blank, Better Off Dead, Being John Malkovich, Crime - The Grifters, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

redddfer44

I'm sure you checked it already, but Bruckheimer produced Top Gun, The Rock, Armageddon, the entire Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Black Hawk Down, and from the Cinecringe side, Gone in Sixty Seconds. No Transformers, though, which surprised me, but many other Michael Bay films.

Odd Thomas

The lesser of the Cage action trilogy, but fun. Face/off however, is the daddy of 90s action movies.

JediLounger

Based on what one of them said during the reaction, we are getting a big reaction soon. My guess is tomorrow.

Spacedone

It's more romantic comedy than action, although it does have occasional moments of action, but Grosse Point Blank would be well worth watching. Also, if you want to see another interesting Steve Buscemi role where he's playing on the "he was a quiet guy' trope, try Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead. Have you guys watched Die Hard With A Vengeance yet? That one is lots of fun.

Dave

If you want to see Nick Cage in another action movie, albeit one with a very different tone, I'd love to see you both react to Mandy

Odd Thomas

I really hope you're doing the new Dune and not the original (I'm a David Lynch superfan but that one is hot garbage - and Lynch himself agrees).

Rob Parry

2 other Nic Cage movies to check out I didn't see mentioned are Raising Arizona and Moonstruck

Jeff I.

To be fair, it'd be the ultimate troll reaction if they did the shitty original. Haha

King_Panarisi

Nic Cage is also in 'World Trade Center (2006)' if you wan't a more serious movie with him. It's based on a firefighter's true story. Also watch 'The Island (2005)' for more Steve Buscemi, Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor.

Ian O'Donnell

Perfect timing. The Rock > Face/Off > Con Air > Everything else ever > King Charles III's Coronation

beefjerkywizard

'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' should be on the list

Ginger

I always forget Don S. Davis is in this. So great :D He's the guy in the car Pinball falls on, mostly known for being in Stargate SG1.

JonnyBoomstick

As far as Cage movies I think you might like Knowing and National Treasure

Ginger

I got a few possible hints there: Gone in 60 seconds, Speed 2 and maybe Dune.

sarCC

Grosse Pointe Blank is one of the best 90s movies to come out of the wake of Pulp Fiction. Along with Out Of Sight and Get Shorty.

sarCC

Face/Off will be one of the best films you'll see in this vein.

Steve Arnold

Grosse Pointe Blank is a comedy/action movie with John Cusack that you should watch!

silverarrow06

@Simone: On behalf of Ross I have to say it: They were on a break! 🤣🙈

djKENTO

don’t blame trash tuesday on Nic Cage. The man has been putting out legit brilliant work over the past few years. Mandy, Pig, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talnet, Color Out of Space…

Mike Adams

Time to finish the Cage Holy Trinity movies and do Face/Off

Logan Kerlee

I'd love for them to watch that! Pretty sure that I requested it sometime ago. :)

Jayson Phillips

Yeah but in the US defending yourself doesn't matter anymore. A guy is being looked at for murder charges now because he stood up to a crazy man threatning everyone on the subway in NY.

Com1xguy

The greatest hero in this film is Nicolas Cage's hair. Love this film. Such a great watch.

Lou Gallucci

that mug's bigger than your head

akaTheBARON

🖤Yep, Nicolas Cage was cast as Superman and the movie was called "Superman Lives." It was written by Kevin Smith and Tim Burton was supposed to direct. There were even pictures taken of him in the costume. Never got past pre-production tho which is a shame because I heard Michael Keaton's Batman would have made a cameo which would have been "super" tight :)

akaTheBARON

🖤I hope we get this one at some point too. I can't imagine a world where they never react to it, it's just not possible LOL

Ry Jo

John cusack in Grosse Pointe Blank is a good movie with him

MatthewBrown74m

Good eye on noticing the short hair girl was on friends simone I never thought anyone would notice that👏👏👏👏🤝

Miguel Tapia

This movie is amazing but please do FACE/OFF. This, THE ROCK, and FACE/OFF are some of nic cage's best action.

Logan Kerlee

Really happy that you both enjoyed this! Such a fun movie! :)

Logan Kerlee

Face/Off is definitely worth watching! Super cheese but very entertaining. Honestly, The Rock could have that same description. I for sure recommend both!

Thomas Young

I feel like Garland Greene's interaction with a little girl that wasn't afraid of him, that genuinely just wanted someone to play with, changed him. I think he went there with the intention to kill her, but her being unafraid of him and her showing him kindness made him change.

Logan Kerlee

I don't know if I'd consider him a changed man. Instead, I think that she's still alive simply because she wasn't afraid/repulsed by him. If the little girl was afraid or upset toward him then he might've found a new hat.

Opti_Frog

Even in the 90s this was too cringe for me 😅

WayneC

Las Vegas Airport is right next to the Strip, so you would think they could have crashed there. And I don't think the movie makers know how diabetes works.

Foodassassin4life

John Cusack and Joan Cusack are both in Grosse Point Blank

Starromania72

Joining the sudden clamour for Grosse Point Blank and High Fidelity. Apart from the John Cusack angle, they both have great soundtracks. Another Nic Cage/Ving Rhames team-up worth watching is the Scorsese-directed Bringing out the Dead, with Cage as a burned-out paramedic - dark, frenetic, high-strung, strung out drama.

evilmunky

if you want to see Colm "O'Brien" Meaney in a great film you need to watch The Van

Ricardo Alanis

Please do Face/Off. Another Cage classic.

Truth

Lord of War and Face/off are absolute classics. They definitely part of Nick Cages best.

Justin Wolford

Forth acts are definitely a jerry Bruckheimer thing. He was/is king of producing action movies you should try bad boys with will smith and martin lawrence. It was also michael bays diretorial debute. Bruckheimer and don simpson wanted it to look like a music video so they hired bay.

Tanx

I remember seeing Nick Cage on a late night talk show after this came out and the host told Nick he had a hard time taking the movie seriously because the person who came up with the title forgot Con-Air was a major brand of hair dryers.

Andy H.

Action (ish) films with John Cussak include: Grosse Pointe Blank, War, Inc, and The Numbers Station. Cussak's fighting coach actually has a role in Grosse Pointe Blank as well.

Joanthan Skidmore

John Malkovich is a brilliant and versatile actor, I wish he had been in The Worlds Fastest Indian!

Tenn Seven

I love Simone's reactions to explosions. Whoahohoho!

craig towell

1;53;34 they were on a break

Philipp Noller

When i started the video it was perfectly synchronized, but every few minutes I had to pause my own video because it wasn't synchronized anymore. Am I the only one with that problem?

Alan Kobb

The best thing about this movie is that the cheesy love song, "How Do I Live" was nominated both for the Oscar for Best Original Song and for the Razzie for Worst Original Song. Sadly, it did not win either award, but still an amazing accomplishment!

Connor Macarty

Ok I’m new here, do all Patreon reactions look like this and the Dune? You cant see or hear a thing they were watching

WarboyFeffy

I'll chime in on Grosse Pointe Blank. It (and its unofficial sequel War, Inc.) are Cusack's "action" movies. GPB has a couple of really solid fight scene/action sequences. Cusack is a legit kickboxer in real life and trains with Benny "The Jet" Urquidez (who cameo's in the film). Benny is a well-known stunt guy/fight choreographer who's been in a few Hong Kong cinema films.

BlindPanda

For more Cusack check out the movie “Runaway Jury” it’s really great 👍🏻 🔥🔥🔥🔥

simon brouillard

There’s a great documentary about it called the death of superman lives what happened by John Schnepp

simon brouillard

Cusack also did a movie with Jackie Chan a couples of years ago called Dragon Blade, unfortunately not really good

Habman

George, referring a little girl as creepy worries me a bit

Rhiannon

I agree with everyone about Face/Off - but for another movie that's got a great dry wit (and another 90s Bruckheimer) is Enemy of the State with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. Hackman's character is SUPER dry.

Amelie W

It's a bit pedantic to disagree with the basic plot premise, but if it seems weird Cammy gets ten years in prison for killing that guy it may be because it's complete nonsense. Realistically he would stand trial in a military court and possibly spend a little time in military prison, if they can make the case he's a military asset with his special soldier skills and all that. Or else he's acting as a civilian and can only be judged as a civilian in which case there's probably no country on Earth where he wouldn't get off on self defense. But that's what we need to go on this fun little ride so whatevs. And yeah you are not the only two mystified by Steve Buscemi's character arc. We're told he's killed at least 30 people and all that gross Hannibal Lecter-wannabe stuff, he glides through the plot without really interacting with it, has a pleasant tea party with a random abandoned child, and then obviously escapes justice at the end. My friends and I have wondered about it for decades. Like, the movie goes out of its way to deliver karma to all the other many ne'erdowells, it clearly has a theme and a message, and that message is not very far off from Agent Malloy's thesis that criminals are bad people who deserve to get shot down with missiles en masse, as much as the movie picks on him - so what is it trying to say about the big time serial killer? Maybe he just needed to sing a happy song about Jesus to find redemption and peace?

David Lonewolf Wright

The director, Simon West, is responsible for giving us the Rick Astley RickRolled music video. I saw this movie before my first trip to Vegas, now I am super familiar and that plane crash and fire truck chase scene was nonsensical in regards to where the hotels were placed and how it jumped to various places on the strip. The Hard Rock Casino is not on the strip and not anywhere near Circus Circus. Oh, sadly George, the Hard Rock Casino is gone and turned into the Virgin Casino... though The Mirage is officially closing and going through a 2-3 year conversion to become the next Hard Rock. I am also on the Grosse Point Blank plane for an actiony comedy starring John Cusack... and his sister.

David Lonewolf Wright

Yeah, you have to have your own copy of the movie or show they are watching for the full length watch-a-longs as they do not have the license to broadcast the content and would get in trouble for doing so.
