Puss in Boots is possibly the best supporting character in the franchise. He’s the missing part of the quartet that adds so much humor and swashbuckling to the series that he eventually got his own spin-off series. I love this film even more than the original.

Third one had different writers and failed to capture a lot of what the first two did. Puss in Boots the Last Wish is designed to be a stand alone story. There's I think only one character that gets carried over from PIB 1

The third shriek is really bad and only had one thing of note happen. So I think it’s a easy skip. The Fourth one is fantastic maybe not quite as great as 1 and two but very close and a great close on the series. The puss in boots movies are their own series with little nods, so you can watch them whenever. The first is decent to good so I would watch it before last wish but you could skip it also as it is very much it’s own thing with only like two characters coming back in two.

If you want to skip straight to Puss in Boots last wish, you could and I don’t think you’d miss anything significant. Shriek 4 and puss in boots 1 are fine. Not great but not terrible. Shrek 3 is pretty bad and I’d only watch it if you are a completionist.

I think if you want you can jump to Puss in Boots movies now, there are they own thing there are almost zero reference to Shrek movies, and yes the next Shrek movies are not as good as the first 2, maybe the Shrek 4th

They are. There was a poll posted on August 4th that was asking for a show to watch for a season (Ted Lasso which they currently release on Tuesdays) before they started Breaking Bad. Ted Lasso Season 1 will be wrapped up this coming Tuesday (the 5th) with the final 4 episodes. The start of Breaking Bad should be posted up the following Tuesday, on the 12th.

While I won't argue that there was definitely a marked loss of quality after the second movie, the third has that one scene (you know what I'm talking about...) that makes it worth at least one watch.

Another sequel that is worth a look is Police Academy 2-4. 5 is kind of cringe.
