My favourite one. If I recall, 3 is awful but 4 was decent

Wulfric

I'm not complaining about Shrek 2, its a great movie but when are we going to get other sequels like Men in Black 2, Home Alone 2, Rush Hour 2, Equalizer 2. The first ones of those came out on patreon much earlier and yet still no sequels of them yet. The third Equalizer is in theaters now and I'd really like that one to be reacted to when it comes out on dvd.

Tall Paul

I also like How to Train Your Dragon 2 and especially Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, we already have enough good sequels for a poll if George is tempted

Odd Thomas

What kind of psycho skips a Cinebinge intro, lol

MacGuffinStuff

Oh man that's so funny, the Fairy Godmother billboard when they first get to Far Far Away, that's a reference to Angelyne. Back in the day if you were driving around Hollywood, there'd be these extremely pink billboards of this blonde lady, Angelyne. I don't know the story and I think they made a movie or something about her, but as far as I know she was just this random lady who somehow had money to pay for billboards all over the city for years, I think she was trying to be a music star or something. It was just one of those weird quirks about LA.

DM DC

I don't skip anything. Love your reactions! I still do need to go to the youtube versions and watch some of those. But Love the patreon and find myself not really wanting to watch movies unless it's along side your patreon viewings lol.

BHillzebub

End credit scene starts. Me "Don't think about it George, Just don't. Nope." George "How does that work?" Me "Nooooo" 🤦‍♂️🤣

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I seem to recall the first Puss movie being pretty much standalone so I think you can watch it anytime now that the character has been introduced to you. The second Puss movie is definitely a standalone from the main series.

Tobi-Wan-Kenobi

The third Shrek movie is pretty bad in my opinion, the fourth one is kinda underrated. Maybe on the same level as the first Puss in Boots movie. I absolutly love the second Puss in Boots. One of my favourite animated movie and such an unexpected hit! Also Shrek might come from the german word "Schreck", which means scare or fright.

Odd Thomas

Simone, if you love 'I need a hero' you need to watch the Short Circuit films

REDR58

It’s part of the “Footloose” (1984) soundtrack where it got its initial popularity.

silverarrow06

Love this movie and your reaction to it! 😊 Rupert Everett is a british theater and film-actor, probably best known for his role of Julia Roberts best gay friend in "My best friends wedding" and Jennifer Saunders is no less than the british Queen of Comedy and an accomplished actress and singer as well. 🙂 Did you notice that when the giant gingerbread man stomped through the town, people run out of one "Farbucks" and straight into another, because there is literally one at every corner? 🤣 The less we talk about the "Shrek the Third", the better, but the fourth one is actually quiet good. 🤔

silverarrow06

As I am from germany I can tell you it "might" not, it actually does. It's a yiddish word and is related to the german word "Schreck", which means, as you said, scare or fright. 😊

overdev

this movie is easily in my top 10 of best comedies of all time one of the best sequels ever I watched it so many times :D sadly shrek 3 and 4 were pretty weak but the 2nd puss and boots is really great

Mindistala

You could go straight to the Puss in Boots movie now after Shrek 2.

Carlos Hurtado

When George guessed if Fiona's dad was an ogre, Simone said “totally”. But all I heard was Toad-ally. 🤣

ChickensAreRacist

I’d recommend reacting to them all just in order of chronological release. Shrek 3 isn’t as good as the first two in most opinions, but I think they’re still all quite good. Jmo.

MatthewBrown74m

If you wanna watch the third you can but would recommend anything else after that except the puss in boots films lol

Logan Kerlee

Super enjoyed this reaction, you two! This movie's pretty good but it isn't nearly as the first - I feel. The first will always be my favorite. :) I'd be down to jump to Puss and Boots after this or continue on the 3rd, it's all good either way. hahahaha, very happy that you've FINALLY jumped into Baldur's Gate 3, George! I'm very interested in hearing about your progress through the game. Please include updates with the next show/movie you two cover. :)

Pearl Jam

“Fiona, Fiona” that made me want to watch Euro Trip. If you haven’t seen, I highly recommend!

Kinokind

So many gags! The king is a frog and his wife's name is "Lilian", get it? And Jennifer Saunders has such bona fides! She was half of the comedy duo, Saunders and French, she was one of the creators and stars of the brilliant comedy series "Absolutely Fabulous". She's something of a comedy genius.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

I assume Dragon was left out of most of the film to nerf Shrek’s ally assistance for the climax and because the world wasn’t ready for the hottest variant of the dragon lady trope.

beefjerkywizard

"So I married an Axe Murderer" should be added to the list. It's the first place Mike Myers broke out his Scottish accent.

Richard Flores

I'm kind of surprised about the lackluster reception to 4. I might be wrong, it might be because I watched 3 and 4 back to back, and had such a strong negative reaction to 3 that 4 seemed so much better by comparison. But I always have rated it... okay, look... its like a tight 4, 2, 1, all of them are neck and neck, and 3 is a good five feet behind that group. Both George and Simone said that its hard to choose between 2 and 1 because each was so well made, and each had its own message, 1 was about appearance for yourself and 2 was about appearance in the eyes of others. And 4 has such a strong message of its own... It really is (to me) the one that seemed like a perfect finale. Not of the world, because we NEED Puss In Boots, but a perfect finale of Shrek's story in that world.

James O'Sullivan

I always wonder what the dragon turned into...

Bill Campbell

If you like Ian McShane you should watch the HBO series Deadwood.

guyincognito

Glad to see I am not the only one who finds real life getting in the way of my BG 3 play.

JayF

I now find that Starfield is getting in the way of my BG3 play time. To be fair, I've been in BG3 early access for a very long time so almost all of Act I is not new at all to me and boredom played a role.

JokerDanny

Please watch the next 2 Shrek movies and form your own opinions. I think every Shrek movie is important for Shrek's story, for example Shrek 4 explains more of how Fiona was locked in the tower.

Vinh Nguyen

With Halloween coming soon, I'd love to see you guys react to Silent Hill.

Isabelle Xena Autumn

Please do Shrek the Third, I loved it so much as a kid, I feel like it's underated, even if you guys don't like it as much as the first 2 I think it's still worth it

Amos T Fairchild

I really like Shrek the Third. Don't think I've seen 4

Christopher Shukait

3 and 4 are both good and the puss in boots movies are good too

sarCC

The fairy godmother crooning atop the piano is a reference to Michelle Pfeiffer doing the same in the movie The Fabulous Baker Boys.

Raven Dark

As much as I adore the first film, I love the second one a little more. One of the little details I love that connects the two movies is in the first film. When Fiona first meets Shrek and he takes off his helmet, she has this disappointed look. He says, "Oh, you were expecting Prince Charming?" And then in the second film, we find out Prince Charming is a real person. A guy who, moreover, she was "supposed" to be with, and she had a crush on as a child, as if he was a teen heartthrob. It's a really neat touch. Shrek is also one of my favorite characters. He's just so grumpy, and somehow manages to be both cantankerous and incredibly lovable at the same time. So well done. When I saw the first film, I was on my second date with my hubs. I remember being so impressed with the movie, and laughing so much. I remember thinking I'd never laughed so much or had so much fun at a movie. Then I saw the second one, and I was completely blown away at how great it was. Oh, and by the way, twenty years later, we are still together. :D The third film is okay, to me. The fourth is decent, but nowhere near as good as the first two. Unfortunately, you'd only have full appreciation for the fourth movie if you see the third, so I don't recommend you skip it. Great reactions to both films, guys. I really enjoyed watching them with you.

Cincassette

I think it'd be awesome to see some more Wes Anderson on the channel. Personally my favourite is "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" (2004), but any of his movies are really enjoyable and worth a watch!

FranciscoGios

If you guys do like Shrek the Third watch the 4th. As far as where did the Puss and Boots originate from I don’t have a clue.

Julian

The general consensus is that the third movie is the weakest, but it is worth watching still. Especially just so you can see the Fourth. I think the fourth is amazing and a great finale to the series before the Puss in Boots films!

TokyoLopez

i just watched the last wish with someone else and i’d love for you to react when the schedule allows for y’all, and i like all the shrek and puss movies

So apparently Dragon was gonna have a larger role where it was revealed the potion turned her into a talking Pegasus. Oh and the official term for their kids.....Dronkies!!! More old TV references: the trumpet player going off script was playing I believe the "Hawaii Five O" theme (the original 80s show not the current reboot)....and Donkey's "I'm coming Elizabeth" line is a recurring gag from the sitcom "Sanford and Son" where the father repeatedly believed he was having a heart attack so he would join his dead wife, hence "I'm coming Elizabeth". When all the "celebs" gather on the red carpet, that's Joan Rivers playing herself (R.I.P.) since that was something she was known for. Doris the Ugly Stepsister is voiced by Larry King (R.I.P.). In the 3rd Shrek another ugly stepsister is voiced by fellow talk show host Regis Philbin (also R.I.P.).

Trevor S Bright

So timeline wise: 1st there's "Puss in Boots" so it's a spin off & a prequel; then there's all the Shrek movies ("Shrek", "Shrek 2", "Shrek the Third" & "Shrek Forever After"); finally there's "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish". Hope that helps.

samuel Jakob

In my opinion the best shrek movie, and on of the most fun movies over all, the refrences etc. are just so perfect, the songs, and even the story, are so(stupid but...) perfect. Great reaction again.

Vector

This movie is one of the best things to come out, not only among Shrek movies but in cinema in general. Packed full with amazing lines, a great story, fantastic acting, unbelievable soundtack and an unforgettable climax. It's truly special, and will always be one of my favorite movies of all time.

Felreign

This is pretty late, but Donkey's line "I'm coming, Elizabeth!" is a reference to the TV show Sanford and Son, where Redd Foxx's character had a running gag of pretending to have a heart attack and cry out to his deceased wife "Oh its the big one! I'm coming Elizabeth!"

Rupert Purcat

Any chance of the next ones and on to Puss'n'Boots
