HUGO TORRES

Everyone always brings up candyman on any Tony Todd movie so this better win lol

Mark McKeown

Scream is so over rated 😬

FaceMustache

I voted for Halloween, but you can’t go wrong with basically any of these.

Dibbles

Out of all the good movies.. scream is gonna win 💀

sarah preston

While I hope they see Scream I feel like they should see Halloween and Nightmare first for the jokes

The Fool

I think Halloween needs to be watched before Scream

sarCC

[holds up sign] Halloween before Scream!

W T

Upgrade 2018

Ricardo Alanis

Also hoping for IT: Chapter 2 this coming month!

redddfer44

Candymaaaaaan. And a support vote for Halloween before Scream. Not my kinda movie, but it should be a fun reaction.

Joe Mallard

Halloween and Texas Chainsaw need to be watched before any of the b movies(aside Conjuring) in the poll.

Naw

Candyman is *CRIMINALLY* underrated, sigh....

GnolRevilo

The Conjuring is surprisingly really good, highly recommend.

Śéáń

Good selection, pretty much any of them would be a good win given the choices. This is a suggestion one for a later month, once horror-season is over, but I'll put in here before I forget. "Push" (2009) is a really fun low budget scifi/thriller set in Hong Kong with Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning, based in a world where there's various types of psychics mixed in with some gang warfare. Worth a consideration, I don't often see much chatter about it online.

Duncan

The first Scream is fine ,but RIP to the views if they continue in to the franchise

jmundt33a

Have you already watched ParaNorman for laughs in this area?

Chris Servais

Gotta be Scream this time y'all! Absolutely a classic in it's own right, independent of having seen the older classics. (Edit: it's in the lead! -- aaaand push!)

Rob M

Scream, Halloween and Texas Chainsaw would be my top 3. These are all really good choices though

Fernando Alamán

Perfect movie for this horror season: "Let The Right One In" (original swedish from 2008)

ChrisXIllustrates

If Scream wins they gotta react to Scary Movie 1.

Gareth Turner

I’m not really a horror fan, but I love the Scream franchise. Of course, if you watch the first one, you kind of have to do the rest at some point… :D

Dirge Girl

An American Werewolf In London (1981)

Viilutaja

This list should include The Descent!

Dakota

Recommendations for action, mystery movies are Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes movies. Fun and great.

cincassette

The Scream franchise is one of the most fun franchises imo in the "slasher" genre, although it is worth noting that it plays a lot better after having seen at least Halloween (1978) first. Scream plays off of the tropes of the genre, which are nicely established in Halloween.

Random Nevermind

Please do The Others (2001) one day. It is a good one

Donnie Darko

Halloween will always get my vote!

Mark McKeown

Any plans to continue on with Saw?

Matrim

Man, Candyman getting done dirty. That said, Scream is good, but it really works better after you’ve seen other slashers. Halloween at the very least, but I’d also recommend seeing the first Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street films before watching it.

FrancescoTakesItEasy

I never upgraded Scream from DVD to any newer format, because the unrated cut never made it to blu-ray, and even with the differences being marginal I know I'd miss the extra gore. But, if Scream wins the poll I'm gonna buy the 4K disc just for this.

Mr. Writhms

"Scream" satirizes "Friday the 13th" and "Halloween" so prepare for spoilers.

Elliot

Really recommend Scream for after you've done a few more horror classics.

Jay

Scream was obviously going to win this. It has previously scored well when included in "bit of everything" polls, where horror films generally languish at the bottom. I love Scream but it may as well have just been pencilled in for October, let the rest fight it out in a poll.

Chase Lonnergan

You really should watch the movies that Scream references before watching Scream. Hopefully, Halloween will win this so you can. Count of Monte Cristo Beverly Hills Cop II From Dusk til Dawn Tremors Dexter (seasons 1-5) Clue Labyrinth

Jason McCloud

Some good choices. Disappointing to see TCM trailing by so much considering how groundbreaking it was for the time.

sol stapleton

couple of recommendations for October -Mandy (2018) -mad god (2021) -the wicker man (1973)

Richard Maurer

I always know two things when I see Scream on a horror poll - that it will win and that it will be the worst film in the poll. Although with Insidious and The Conjuring on here it was a closer race for worst film than usual.

Shane Darcy

Original TCM is awesome Consider adding ‘Possession’ (1981) to your next horror poll? 😇

Alex Ch

Feels angrier than usual here today. Hope everyone has a great week and at least a tolerable Monday!

Random Nevermind

The Others (2001) please? That's a nice one.

Alex Ch

Oh, and I was thinking a Cameron Crowe movie would be great. If George and Simone haven’t seen “Almost Famous” or “Jerry Maguire” yet, I would love to see a reaction.

AlimonyMoney

Scream is a satire of horror movies. But if you are going to do Scream than you must follow it up with Scary Movie. A Scream parody movie with the Wayne Bros.

Joh

Scream 🤞🤞 !!! But also please can we have IT chapter two pretty please 🥺🙏🥺 Halloween/October is the perfect time for it. Thank you 🫂

Scott CineRam

Scream is winning your poll, but you should familiarize yourselves with horror movies of the 70s and 80s in order to get some of the references. Halloween, Carrie, Friday the 13th, Prom Night, Nightmare on Elm Street and The Exorcist would be a good start.

FranciscoGios

I hope you guys decided to watch the two top winners, so we can watch Candyman sooner than later.

GnolRevilo

Side note, hoping you guys get around to watching Talk To Me this halloween season, surprise hit of the year for me.

Zoltán Bublos

I hope Scream wins and after that they can watch Scary Movie.

Martin

More suggestions for horror: It Follows Let Me In Barbarian Sinister Men It: Chapter 2 Get Out Us Mandy Bone Tomahawk (Western horror) I See You

Kasa

do Prisoners (2013) u wont regret it

JoeE

2 more suggestions

JoeE

one cut of the dead (Japanese) and you’re next

Lola Lirola

Don't forget about Midsommar for horror! You actually liked Hereditary, and this one is right up there! Very subversive of tropes and it opens very interesting themes and metaphors.

Josh

This one’s tough between scream and Halloween but all of those are good movies

Mark D

Shame The Grudge isn’t on the list. You guys gotta watch it it’s awesome

Jeff I.

I’ll throw out a suggestion for Barbarian. It’s so well done!

Lola Lirola

Thanks to RandomNevermind, here are some Spanish horror recommendations, just in case! - Pan's Labyrinth is an amazing mix of horror, mythical creatures and our 1936 Civil War. - Tesis is an indie about film students who discover an underbelly of snuff movies. (this was Amenabar's debut film, he filmed it after hours at the film school where he himself studied, later he went on to direct The Others) - El Día de la Bestia is a horror comedy where the devil is going to be born in Madrid.

Stu84

Need to add Hellraiser to these Horror polls. (just 1+2 though)

Khal Atlas

Gotta agree with others. If you watch scream you gotta watch Scary Movie 1. The real life story inspiration behind Scream is much more terrifying than the actual movie but it's worth a watch.

Angie

i wish Candyman was doing better in the poll. it really is an outstanding film. if you're ever interested in something a bit more bizarre, then i recommend The Lair of the White Worm (1988) and Titane (2021). the former is a horror comedy and the latter is more body horror/psychological drama. i love them both, but i doubt either one would ever win a poll. and if you're ever interested in a horror-ish TV series, then please watch Yellowjackets. season 1 is only 10 episodes and is one of the most entertaining shows i've seen in a long time.

HeyHeyJK

Well, for horror TV you can't get better than "The Haunting of Hill House", except for maybe "Midnight Mass" and "The Haunting of Bly Manor". Each a stand alone 10-episode season, all written and often directed by the great Mike Flanagan. 'Hill House' however, is my favorite because the original film from 1962 is still my favorite haunted house film (based on the great novel by Shirley Jackson) and the way Mike worked in how family grief and trauma can become our ghosts was brilliant. Not only does THoHH have one of the biggest jump scares of all-time (if you know, you know), but I've never cried as hard at a "horror" project as I did watching this one. I'm so excited for Mike's new (and last) Netflix series, the Edgar Allen Poe adaptation, "The Fall of the House of Usher" which early reactions are saying is fantastic.

HeyHeyJK

So, if "The Changeling" with George C. Scott (General Buck Turgeson from "Dr. Strangelove") or "The Others" with Nicole Kidman (I'm assuming you know who she is) aren't on this list - both part of my trifecta of all-time greatest haunted house films (see above post for the third) - then I'm going to cast a lone vote for "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", one of the classics of the horror genre, coming a few years before "Halloween" which really ushered in the slasher era.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Numerous on the poll I'd be happy w..as a person who only votes the one I want the most (which is how I think it should be) I voted for The Conjuring...as I feel the entire Conjuring universe is excellent and would love to have S&G get started on those films.. It looks like Scream will win and I love the first couple of those films and def would be a fun reaction

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Staying on the horror theme...some requests (and was really disappointed the first on my list did not make the poll) - The VVitch (2015) - X (2022) and then must be followed by Pearl (2022)..(3rd film Maxxxine is in post production) - The Nun (2018) note: part of The Conjuring universe but can be watched on it's own. The Nun 2 just recently out...both are outstanding (along w most of that universe of films)

MadCat

I would suggest "Sinister" (2012) to be added into horror movie pool for later.

Pearl Jam

So Scream is one of the big ones. If you watch it, I’d highly recommend its parody Scary Movie. Another suggestion along the Horror/Comedy line I’d recommend is Happy Death Day 1 & 2.

OldBeardedGuyReacts

Scream is a lot of fun....but I do agree that there are a lot of references to classic horror movies that you guys won't get a lot of....in particular, there's a pretty major spoiler for Friday The 13th right at the beginning.

MacGuffinStuff

The thing is, Scream is great, but it's like Ready Player One, it's full of references to other movies, especially movies like Halloween, it kind of assumes the audience is already familiar with them. So I think you'd appreciate it more after you've seen those other movies. But it is what it is, Cinebinge reactions are always fun anyway. For truly creepy horror, I suggest for the future: Exorcist 3 (forget 2, it didn't happen), and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, they're both more cerebral than you'd expect but also creepy AF. Oh, and Doctor Sleep, one of the best horror sequels.

DemNikoArt

I'm just gonna drop this one here 😁 - Lucky number Slevin (gangster film with a stellar cast incl. Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman etc) - Smokin' Aces (also a gangster film with a stellar cast incl. Ryan Reynolds, Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck & Chris Pine) - Thank you for smoking (Satire about the smoking lobby, with Aaron Eckhart and Katie Holmes) - Sunshine (Danny Boyle's beautiful trip into the sci-fi genre, with Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans & Hiroyuki Sanada) - Starsky & Hutch (Ben Stiller and Owen Willson teaming up again, I mean... c'mon 😁) - Beerfest (ridiculous comedy about a group of friends who compete in an international beer drinking contest) - Love and Monsters (Fantasy comedy about a guy's trip through a post apocalyptic USA to save his love) - Face off (John woo, John Travolta, nick cage. Do I need to say more?) - Wedding crashers (Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson crashing weddings 😄 ) - Boogie Nights (a period piece about the porn industry of the 70s, with Marc Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Burt Reynolds) - Cloudy with a chance of meatballs (Lord & Miller's first directed animated movie, has already their super hilarious humour) - Palm Springs (groundhog Day with Andy samberg) - The Game (David Finchers Thriller about a guy who is pulled into a "game" where he doesn't know what is real or not, with Michael Douglas & Sean Penn) Please, give this list some love! 💕☺️

nossieboy

Looks like TCM isn’t popular here like last time but it is the best film on the list.

David Crabtree

Diggin the poll results so far! Scream is my all time favorite horror film, and Poltergeist is easily 2 or 3.

Matt Chris

28 Weeks Later (sequel to 28 days Later)

Wrencher86

If we're doing horror I have to plug Ravenous again. You guys just did a Western so it'll make the transition as it is a horror/Western.

Craig D

consider doing Repo! the Genetic Opera as a patreon exclusive 🤔

Jay

Am I right in saying the runner up gets watched 2-3 weeks later? If so and if the results remain as they are right now, watch Halloween first. I personally don't think an encyclopaedic knowledge of horror movies is necessary to enjoy Scream, but it would be ridiculous to watch Scream and Halloween in a short space of time and watch Scream first. This is a rare thing, I can't imagine any patron disagreeing with me on this.

Frank from Vegas

I'd throw in Peter Jackson's Dead Alive aka Braindead for your next horror poll.

Kelly Pickard

Please, PLEASE consider The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix for a TV horror series next month. I promise you won't be disappointed.

sahliente

I would put Requiem for a Dream in the horror category and would be a great first reaction film

Will

I know it won't win, but I voted Candyman simply because I've seen all of the others.

Lola Lirola

Wait, wait, wait!! How are we all forgetting this one!? Ginger Snaps (2000) is grunge Canadian teen girl werewolves! And I fully support women becoming hairy, angry, bloodthirsty beasts every 28 days. An excellent horror trope that I can't believe isn't more established (as far as I know, it's this movie and Blood & Chocolate?)

G P

Poltergeist is an absolute classic, and was a lot of people's first 'horror' movie back in the day. Hope you get a chance to check it out!

CrunklJack don’t poop.

Don't remember The Conjuring. But I DID watch it. Never saw Insidious (so I'll wait and watch along with you guys). Other than those two, not a bad choice on this poll.

Monica Alarcon

sigh... Poltergeist, the perennial 2nd placer...

DM DC

A pitty Candyman is so low in the poll. I'd love them to see that since they've seen and commented on Tony Todd from the Final Destination films. Candyman is a true masterpeice. Though Scream I am really excited about too. Scream is one of my faves!

Jeff I.

Have y'all seen The Witch from 2015? If not, I'd suggest it. It's a really good horror movie that relies more on tension/dread and psychological horror than jump scares or gore.

PoopsInShoes

Silent Hill (Probably the best movie based on a video game ever) Evil Dead 2 (So we can get to Army of Darkness) Event Horizon (where we're going you don't need eyes) Don't look up (scary cause it's true)

Torsten Maekler

Just watched another reaction channel finally starting to watch Battlestar Galactica (Kat & Sonny). Man, you two need to start that one, too. It starts with a two film-long episodes Miniseries. Maybe a good dip to check if this series is for you. The series itself then picks up after those two episodes... .

Rachel W

"Descent" is scarier than all those films.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Recent films request that are all on streaming wo extra rental costs 1. Asteroid City 2. The Super Mario Bros Movie 3. The Whale 4. X 5. Pearl (must watch X first)

Chappie_nottherobot

An American Werewolf in London pleaseeeeeeee!!!! You two would love it!

Craig D

Mirrormask (2005) has a fantastic story and spooky atmosphere.

Dazzler & Em

All great films, can't wait to see the reactions when you get around to Halloween, poltergeist and candy man.

Jeb Manning

With Halloween coming up, I would recommend checking out the sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch, if that's OKay? It's one of the best horror sequels, one of the best comedy sequels, and one of the best sequels in general. I love that it doesn't try to top the original and it just leans into being a live action cartoon comedy movie. I also love that it pokes fun at the original and in particular makes fun of the rules. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I think it'd make for a great reaction and it's definitely worth a watch.

Matt Chris

28 Weeks Later (sequel of 28 Days Later)

warcrimes

man, you people have some bad taste

Dirge Girl

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) Directed by Wes Anderson, lovely little autumn film... ... George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murry, Jason Shwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Michael Gambon (Dumbeldore), Jarvis Cocker (Pulp).

Jacob King

Dr Sleep!!! Sequel to the Shining. Like all good sequels it keeps the tone but switches genre. Where the Shining is a taught and focused thriller narrowing down to a point Dr Sleep is a sprawling fantasy adventure about escaping that point. Feel good movie with a bucket load of horror imagery thrown over everything.

Hans Olav Sletnes

As far as horror movies go, I'd recommend "Jacob's Ladder" - a profound psychological thriller that served as an inspiration for "Silent Hill."

Jonah

Have you guys seen the Jeepers Creepers franchise?? add that to the next pole or consider it thu spooky season if not!!!

redddfer44

Since George isn't big on seasonal movies, here are some recommendations that have nothing whatsoever to do with horror or the spooky season: - Dog Day Afternoon - Before Sunrise - 12 Angry Men - Wayne's World - Harold & Maude - Casablanca - Rear Window (okay, this one's suspenseful)

Parabolica

If you ever fancy doing horror comedy, Josh Ruben’s films (Scare Me and Werewolves Within) are worth a watch.

mitch s

Scream really needs to be seen after some of the movies on this list, it deals with all horror movie stereotypes and gives away endings to very good horror movies, ones on this list.. just doesn't seem right

Dazzler & Em

Just to agree, after considering the poll, it really might be better for you to watch scream after halloween and similar films.

Joe Mallard

As a filmmaker, Simone needs to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre regardless.

Michael

the top 2 movies winning this poll are the 2 least scariest movies on this list

Carl Noraas

Seems like you guys are locked in now, Scream is going to win. It’s a great movie, but I have to concur with the others. For your own sake, you should record your reactions to Halloween (1978) and Friday the 13th (1980) before watching Scream! There are literal spoilers within the first 5 minutes and understanding the references will make Scream a much richer experience.

Michael Gryphon

Please do Poltergeist! There is one scene I really really really wanna see Simone's reaction too.

DeAndrew Greene

3 movies that are underrated and would be great reactions: Frequency 1408 Frailty

Logan Kerlee

I'm totally down with Scream winning this poll! I just hope that we'll be able to dive into Halloween this year. Also voted for the terrifying Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

sol stapleton

I would love to see a LOTR commentary from you guys

Dazzler & Em

As we are entering halloween season, can you let is in on some spoilers for more upcoming films😱😱 for next month.

Joe

For the love of horrible clowns, please do It Chapter 2.

Efrain Zavala

A couple of recommendations for scary movies: "Get Out" and "Midsommar."

werewolfhunger

13 hours (2016) Drive (2011) Her (2013) Lone Survivor (2013) Nightcrawler (2014) American Sniper (2014) Slow West (2015) Wind River (2017) The Disaster Artist (2017) The Aviator (2004) 50 First Dates (2004) Starsky & Hutch (2004)

Civil Hooligan

Holding out hope for Shin Godzilla (2016 I think)

Brandon Meng

The original Friday the 13th omitted from this list is criminal

DM DC

If George and Simone haven't seen Friday the 13th yet, highly recommend seeing that before Scream, there will be some spoilers.

Jonah

Can you guys please check out "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon." I don't think it will ever win a poll because it's a very unknown gem. Its from 2006 and crosses the lines between a mockumentary, horror/slasher, suspense, and a bit of comedy. It's a SUPER unique movie so I can't tease you with anything that will get you to watch it without spoiling the plot. PLEASE consider during the spooky season. throw it in as wild card or something <3

Dirge Girl

The Burbs (1989) Comedy/Horror w/ Tom Hanks?

David Crabtree

Scream can be seen and thoroughly enjoyed without seeing movies like Friday the 13th and Halloween. I hadn't seen either before seeing Scream and I still loved it and understood what the movie was referencing.
