Damn George and Simone binge watching MI series ;)

MatthewBrown74m

HEY YOU GUYS ANSWERED MY PRAYERS!! I am excited to watch this!!

Kasa

IM SO GLAD THEY'RE CONTINUING WITH THE SERIES !!!!. MI:FALLOUT IS THE BEST ONE IMO

Robb

Please dont forget the Saw saga as well 🙏

JediLounger

Man while you guys were looking up the poster I was really worried you might spoil the signature stunt from the movie, at least one of the posters does. Be careful with the next two movies, some of the posters give too much away.

Rash Bandicoot

Awesome! Looking forward to watching this with you guys after work! Your early morning emails give me something to look forward to all day.

j...

let's go!!!! I can't wait for them to watch Mission Impossible Fallout

8bitAndy

For me, this is when MI movies start becoming about Tom Cruise just trying to one-up himself. The action from here on out is top notch, but I have a hard time getting invested in the stories.

Joe

Wooooo! I'm going to save this for later, when I am of "unsound" mind.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

The highs and lows of non poll winner watch days....hoping you get a movie you want..haha

Prof. Writhms

There is a photo of Tom Cruise sitting on top of the needle at the very tip top of the Burj Khalifa. And Will Smith posed for the same photo. Apparently he also has no fear of heights. The difference is, Smith is all strapped up with a harness and Cruise is just sitting there with nothing in his bare feet! Yikes!

Lola Lirola

Same. I haven't been rewatching any of these (but I will!) and I still vaguely remember the plot and the twist of the first one. For this one and the others, it's all "this is the one where Tom Cruise does [insert unbelievable stunt]". I can't wait for them to get to the Henry Cavill one, though. I love that one in all of its sneakily homoerotic absurdity. It's gonna be so much fun!

Tay Schumaker

At the beginning he threw the air bag down. You can see him throw an object to the ground before turning and firing as he falls

Kasa

Great reaction. can't wait for the next one. It only gets better from Rouge Nation to Fallout. Dead Reckoning is pretty alright.

Onno Smits

Y'all should watch the Hawkeye Disney+ show for Christmas, for more Jeremy Renner deadpan comedy action. 6 short episodes of fun Christmas-themed action.

djKENTO

speaking of breaking ankles… Tom literally breaks his ankle in a stunt in MI: Fallout. AND HE FINISHES THE SHOT!

Lola Lirola

This reaction was so much fun!! I love it when you guys can make me enjoy a popcorn movie like that. It brightens the middle of the week. George made the tiniest comment about how 'it must be really difficult to talk while you listen at the same time' and I have done some practice as a booth translator (interpreter), so I can tell you! When I started, it surprised me that it's s not so much "difficult" as it is a "wild ride": the talking while listening part takes some used to, but not as much as you'd think (for me, about a month to be able to technically do it). A big part of the training is more about how to not get tripped by the sound of your own voice, how to pace yourself, how different languages require different approaches (e.g. Spanish verbs happen early, but German puts all the verb tense at the end, so you have to wait and retool the sentence), how to correct mistakes on the fly, how to do pre-research, what to do if someone says something rude, or makes an idiomatic joke, or you didn't catch what they said... stuff like that. But the process itself does weird things to your brain. I felt like I was a tube through which words just travelled by, if that makes sense? Like, I felt almost incorporeal and very removed, because I have to be able to not hear myself talking in order to listen to the original speaker. So words exited me while I tried not to notice them. It also felt like I was using my brain at full capacity, like revving the engine of a really fas F1 car and putting it on full blast. Most of us just ended the sessions hyper energetic, exhilarated and powerful ...and then comes the crash. This I observed on myself and also all my colleagues in the booth sessions! We'd end the session and feel like we'd drunk a thousand red bulls, be super chatty and dissect the session for 15 minutes, and then... in 15 minutes your brain turns to mush. Thoughts just cannot happen anymore and you can't form words at all, in any language. And we'd get so knocked out we'd just sit there for a while staring at the ceiling saying nothing. And then about an hour later we'd be fine again! I just thought you'd get a kick out of knowing the experience, even though you didn't ask.

REDR58

One of the more interesting things about this film series from this movie onward they happen to show the major scenes from the movie in the opening credits in little snips and cuts, but I bet you don’t remember it all by the end!

REDR58

Oh and twinkies are good and all that but Tastykake is better!

christopher b swanson

great movie.............but the next 3 are still better................enjoy, can't wait

Odd Thomas

Brad Bird's least interesting film but still enjoyable. An underrated film of his: Tomorrowland with George Clooney. In fact, thinking about it, it shares very similar themes to Iron Giant and Ghost Protocol

Odd Thomas

Zombieland 2! It's even better than the first!

Ginger

My favorite of the series

Joe

Lol. Simone, Fishburne wasn't the bad guy in MI 3. You be stoned again.

Odd Thomas

Lea Seydoux has been in both MI and Bond movies. For more of her I recommend the French version of Beauty and the Beast from 2014; far more interesting than the bland Disney version with Hermione

REDR58

The blond guy (Andreas Wisniewski) with the black hood for Ethan is the same guy seen in the very first Mission Impossible as one of Max’s (Vanessa Redgrave) men. He is also the first terrorist killed by Bruce Willis in Die Hard, the brother of Karl (the late Alexander Godunov).

sarCC

[extremely Homer voice] Woohoo! I'm sure this watchalong will be a blast!

Truth

Mission Impossible 5 Rogue Nation next. Its possibly my favourite although i cant really decide because i can watch all movies over and over. I prefer 3 a lot more than 4 tbh. Although this is a great film i just prefer the more gritty 3.

gobmob2000

Speaking of getting high, when will you react to the next Harold and Kumar film? Also, since you like trying out sweets and confectionery, thought about doing a PO box opening video?

Eric S

The best way to eat a Twinkie is roasted over a campfire like a marshmallow. It takes some engineering, but the outside caramelizes and the cake underneath stays soft, and the filling gets warm and more fluid. Its amazing.

Jeff I.

Ew, Twinkies are nasty enough as it is, and that just sounds even worse. Haha

Com1xguy

George, where can I get that coffee mug? I need it!

Vwlss Nvwls

Twinkies for a birthday present, means you have a true friend. This is my favorite, even though they do just get better each time. But this one just hits all the right points for me. I especially like that they went back to showing scenes of the movie during the opening credits, like the t.v. show and first movie did. In the opening scene, when the agent runs out the door on the roof, he activates a device you can hear charging up, then throws that device at the ground as he jumps off the roof. That is what he landed on.

Vwlss Nvwls

The villain, Hendricks, was played by Michael Nyqvist (RIP) who played the Russian mobster in the first John Wick movie.

Vwlss Nvwls

In the original Conan the Barbarian, Conan had to pretend to be interested in a man who was obviously gay in order to get his priest robes for a disguise. Just to answer your question. :)

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

I'd prefer movies w sequels get a once a month limit...for those that don't like to watch a particular movie series it ends up clogging up the non poll winner days

DinChild

War for the Planet of the Apes, please. I know we want to satisfy the View Gods, but like How to Train Your Dragon, the story isn't done! :-) And it's a great film.

Amos T Fairchild

It's a perfectly rational fear of heights...

Jared Winn

The scream that you guys let out when he fell had me laughing for 2 minutes lol

Tenn Seven

Movie Russians have the best leather jackets.

Jacob King

Great reaction. I’ve seen this movie a bunch of times including in the cinema but George’s fear of heights really made the Burj scene hit different. The comedy is definitely deliberate with Brad Bird being an animation guy. This is the most science fiction-y of the franchise but Brad Bird’s got an anti-technology thread running through most of his movies, Iron Giant has to learn he’s not a gun, the villain in the Incredibles uses machines to make himself super, Tomorrowland over relies on CGI, which meshes well with all the crazy machines because they are more believable in that they don’t work. My favourite one is the message at the start not destructing. If you’re still looking for spooky Halloween movies I’d again recommend Dr Sleep because [ spoiler redacted] significant part [spoiler redacted] of the MI movies.

Rachel W

This, for me, is the best film of the series.

WastedPo

I love Ghost Protocol. But I do agree that the villain was the weakest aspect of the movie. Even though he didn't get a lot of screen time or lines, I feel like they still could've made him more memorable by maybe casting a different actor--someone with more unique looks, or just more physically imposing. In contrast, in this very same movie, the Lea Seydoux character didn't get much screen time either, but I think she was far more memorable, and even arguably more menacing. I'm glad all the humor worked for you. I can see George's point about how this felt slightly MCU-ish. But I think it really works here. This is also the point in Tom Cruise's career where he started to sprinkle in a lot of self-deprecating humor and comedic beats to his performances. Very different from the straight-as-an-arrow portrayal of Ethan in the first MI.

Logan Kerlee

I really enjoyed watching this with you both! Whole lot of fun. I totally agree with George in that this is most similar to the first in the series, which I really liked, I don't have much of anything to say about this one - just that I enjoyed watching the reaction with you both. :) Really looking forward to the next one though.

gobmob2000

I always laugh at the bit where Beni is like "yea i can fix the server in 5 min", I do this as a job, been around servers and had to patch the cable back in after some idiot tripped over them because another idiot did not manage the cables (yes stuff like that does happen), and there is no way you can fix that mess in 5 min. I don't care how good he is.

gobmob2000

There are people who free climb skyscrapers, there is even a guy, Alan Robert, who has free climbed the Burj Khalifa. He was nicknamed the french spiderman, so yes stuff like that is real.

gobmob2000

Sorry, he did have safety harnesses while climbing the Burj Khalifa, but he has free climbed other buildings.

Michael Kemmet

It sounds like the reaction was filmed on Sept 18th, so those Twinkies were about two weeks old. Current Twinkies have an official shelf life of 45 days, so they were baked and packaged on Sept 3rd, give or take a day. Hope that alleviates any residual concern Simone might have. lol - The info George googled is out of date. Hostess(the company that makes Twinkies) went out of business in 2012. At that time, the official shelf life was 25 days. Several months later, a newly formed company bought the Hostess assets in bankruptcy court and brought many of their products back to market. Apparently some of those products were slightly modified, as the shelf life on the reborn Twinkies was extended to 45 days. The More You Know (tm) For the record, I prefer Raspberry Zingers over Twinkies if I'm going to have a log-shaped Hostess snack cake. lol

Cortez4819

next have simone try a deep fried twinkie! make it happen!

EddySpagetti

I’m rewatching these with u guys and my dad We’re having a blast

Steve kephart

Brad Bird is one of my favorite directors. Even his one "mistep" I still enjoyed. Every other movie he has done is pure gold.

MasterElodin

Just a little fun fact for George: An irrational phobia is kind of redundant as phobias are by definition irrational. But I feel you on the heights. I dont get as nervous but my hands are still drenched

David Lonewolf Wright

Twinkies used to be better and was a common road trip snack for me 20 years ago. Now I only really indulge in white chocolate covered oreos. Funny thing is the first time I found them was on my 2016 Iceland trip. They have made it to the states but are mostly only available around Christmas time. Since the movie had a scene in India, I am going to take the opportunity to recommend watching the Indian cinema movie RRR. I have a funny thing with heights where I really only get bothered by them in video games. In person I used to be hesitant at getting close to the edges of drop offs, but now I almost don't give it a second thought... not that I am not careful. Great reaction. Looking forward to watching the rest of them with you two.
