For Shrek 2 the director said in an interview that Dragon turned into a Pegasus in their original concepts in case the studio wanted additional story added. Would have been cool to see

RandomNevermind

Please watch Shrek 3 and especially 4. It is true that the third one is the worst of them all but It's not THAT bad. It's like Mission impossible 2. It is kinda "Okay" movie. And it has some funny scenes in it. Shrek 4 is a good movie -better than third. I see no reason why not to watch it. I think it should be the part three of the trilogy actually. They are not "what the crap are we watching". They worth watching once or twice

Onno Smits

I know these videos maybe don't do as well on YouTube as others do, but I hope you continue doing them, and take into account that these have actually motivated me in the past to go back and watch previous reactions I initially skipped. I'm sure they are having the same effect on the view count of your YouTube videos.

Amos T Fairchild

The bleeds for 5 days is a pretty standard line in this house...

Onno Smits

For the YouTube timestamps, the first timestamp in the video desciption _MUST_ be 00:00 in order for the chapters to show up in the timeline on the video. So just add a "00:00 - Intro" at the top of the list of timestamps in the description of the video for YouTube to show the chapters in the timeline of the video automatically.

The thumbnail is like a still frame from the outro of an 80s sitcom

Amos T Fairchild

Weird. I thought Shrek 3 was as good as any of them.

christopher b swanson

for a series.................watch succession on HBO................ it's amazing, but it's as if Ted Lasso had an evil doppelganger...............pure opposite

Lola Lirola

Re: The Crow, and wanting to see more movies with that tone; what you're missing is *camp*. Which is a very specific tightrope walk that can happen in any genre (like Simone says, you have to do it right, and commit, and there's a specific x factor or it doesn't work, but I promise you can find it in many other genres). And I can recommend *tons* of it!

Hans Olav Sletnes

Once again, if you liked The Crow, I suggest checking out Dark City from the same director. It does have a somewhat different tone, though. Where the crow has an "MTV goth" vibe, Dark City is more in the vein of scifi-noir.

Jay

I love Succession. While you wouldn't call it a comedy, I personally find it funnier than Ted Lasso. I'm sure that's a minority opinion, but I've always thought complete assholes make for very funny TV.

Ph4ZeD

I really enjoy these retrospectives guys :)

Lola Lirola

Same! As one of the weirdos who actually likes the commentary at the end of the movie and wishes it was longer, this is the best. I also like that they can come back to the movies after a while and comment with more depth after just the reaction, and comment on the comments, lol. It's such a great idea to do it like this!

Logan Kerlee

lmao, loved the end of that! "Those are the movies we watched in Septemberrr!" hahahaha, perfect close Simone! xD

Cincassette

After Ted Lasso and Breaking Bad (Or between the seasons at some point) I highly recommend considering The Good Place. It's one of the best TV shows I've watched, and I think it would be perfect for you two. Funny, wholesome and thought provoking!

MikeBdrx

I love these recaps. I think I'm more excited for Evil Dead 2 now!

Opti_Frog

Did i hear that right? Evil Dead II reaction incoming? 😀

JayF

Love the recaps. Taking a second opportunity to point out to George that his take on Signs is making an assumption that aliens are omnipotent. We aren't given any background on why they came here, how long they've been in space, if these particular members of their species are scientists, how many planets they've visited before Earth, and so on. There's no reason to make the assumption that they knew how harmful Earth's water would be to them. Just saying.

Jeff K

And it has one of the best series finales I've ever seen. I think The Good Place is pretty close to a perfect comedy series.

Jeff K

Assuming that one's coming out either tomorrow or Sunday, if they've already watched it. I hope this means they'll watch Army of Darkness now too.

Lola Lirola

Also, since you loved Ted Lasso, go for The Good Place next, you're going to love it!

Odd Thomas

We need Evil Dead 2! And 3! And the remake! And the TV series! And the remake sequel! Edit: 2 is on the way! Hurray!

Jeff K

Ted Lasso, Schitt's Creek, and The Good Place are my holy triumvirate for shows that just make you feel good.

Johnny Liu

Maybe as a final segment to these videos, it would be cool to hear which movie was each of your favorites for that month.

Odd Thomas

An underrated comic-book movie from 1994: The Shadow. Nowhere near as dark as The Crow but very stylish, very 1940s

Jonah

That's hilarious Simone: "everyone's favorite month is their birthday month right?" My first thoughts: "nah, fuck February." George: "agreed" lol

Jonah

Damn Simone. We now know where your mind goes when you guys are talking about joining patreon for the "uncut" versions of every episode. LOLOLOL

Jeff K

My birthday is in November; I do not love November. Probably because I just don't care for Thanksgiving, though I do like hoodie season and, since I live in Texas, November counts as hoodie weather more often than not...

overdev

I agree, you can skip the rest of the Shrek movies and also the first Puss n Boots movie, it's alright but nothing too exciting, the 2nd one (The Last Wish) is at least the quality of Shrek 2 with a lot of jokes, it was my movie of the year to be honest

Jay Davis

I loved sports as a kid, but I haaaaaated Nascar. Hated. Years later, I had a co-worker who didn't have many friends or much in common with people to talk about. I started reading and following a little on Nascar in hopes of bringing him out of his shell. Now I love it (once I got into the numbers and science within it)! That being said, George, F1 racing and Nascar are completely different. F1 is a karate tournament with a judge stopping to award points after a hit. Nascar is somewhere in between MMA fighting and a street brawl.

REDR58

More campy/goofy gang movies, watch The Warriors from 1979 directed by Walter Hill.

WastedPo

Okay, I have a suggestion based on your discussion of The Crow, and how you liked the urban landscaped that felt just a bit too exaggerated and goth: The 2004 Director's cut of HELLBOY. (Guillermo Del Toro.) It's more restrained than the Crow. But it does have a bit of a goth/emo feel, and neat cinematography and set design. And yes, it also reminds me of a 90's movie, even though it came out in the 2000s.

Lucifer Moon

CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO THE HARLEY QUINN SHOW ON HBOMAX / MAX PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Angie

for something else in the campy/goofy gang movie vein i highly recommend Streets of Fire (1984). it's also got a bangin soundtrack. and some big names like Willem Dafoe, Diane Lane, Bill Paxton, and Rick Moranis. so much fun!!

Terry Yelmene

For me, season 1 of Ted Lasso is as good as ANY comedic series season EVER produced! Please continue on with this amazing series no matter any negative feedback. Seasons 2 and 3 are fantastic in their own right... perhaps 1-2% less amazing han the whole of season 1, BUT THE MAGICAL TRANSCENDENT EPISODES... 'Man City', 'No Weddings', 'Sunflowers', OH YEAH 'SUNFLOWERS', and the final 3 episodes which will permanently impact you! Ted Lasso simply fosters hope in humanity.

Ryan Skinner

You guys had a great month! Thank you both for the content. I truly cannot wait for you to return to Ted Lasso; considering how season 1 already affected you both in terms of emotional responses and hailing it as 'maybe one of my favorite shows' - 2 & 3 are going to break you with how good it is. I can say that I 100% relate with what Simone experienced with her family, being unable to stop talking about it / recommending it. Several of my friends were beyond just rolling their eyes whenever I'd bring it up earlier this year (and then they finally watched it and understood! ha!) Certainly enjoying the Breaking Bad, too. It's been a long time since I've watched it all, so this is a fun revist for me. Thank you both again! Happy October, pals. <3

Talledega Nights solidified that Gary Cole is great. Bill Lumburgh from Office Space and Ricky Bobby’s dad are played by the same guy? How?! Because he’s great.

ChickensAreRacist

Was Barbie too polarizing to discuss? Sorry if so. And if I just missed it, extra sorry.

Scott CineRam

I hope you two give "Dark City" a try! It's about a mysterious city...that's kind of dark. (In the vein of Gotham or where "The Crow" is set.)

WastedPo

I think they recorded these before actually knowing which movies would be released in September. For instance, I'm fairly sure they reacted to MI4 in September, but they didn't include that here either. I'd bet money that they discuss Barbie in the next roundup video.

Happy Hanukkah

57:02 :-) :-) :-) 58:08 "They will look up and shout 'Play Free Bird!'... and I'll whisper "no."

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

This is kind of a random request, but I just got done watching my own 80s Chevy Chase/John Landis double feature, if you ever feel like some basic 80s comedy, check out Spies Like Us and Three Amigos. I've heard a lot of people say Spies Like Us sucks, but apart from a kind of janky ending I think it's funny, Dan Aykroyd wrote and stars in it and I think he's great. Three Amigos is kind of a joke because Michael Scott in The Office references it, but I think it's actually very funny on multiple levels, including how it makes fun of Hollywood and cultural appropriation, the white savior trope, not really, but it is fun. Plus, you can't go wrong with Steve Martin, Martin Short, and 80s Chevy Chase. "Do you have anything besides Mexican food?"

Lola Lirola

I just remembered another campy, witchy recommendation, though this is one you can watch at any time of the year and it would be just as gloriously ridiculous: The Covenant (2006) It was one of Sebastian Stan's first ever roles, he appeared in this even before he was on Gossip Girl! And it's basically like if someone put all of the CW shows in a blender, made it about boy witches (not warlocks, mind you! it's *boy witches*, so that should give you an idea about how amazing this is going to be), cast all the prettiest Tiger Beat guys of the moment so that girls will go see it, and improvised the plot, because who cares, nobody is keeping track, they're all busy looking at Taylor Kitsch's abs. It's glorious. A zenith of supernatural camp.

Lola Lirola

And another one! Cruel intentions (1999) is a retelling of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, but set in an American posh Catholic school, and it is glorious. It's most probably where Gossip Girls drew most of its inspiration, because it's basically like a full-length episode of it, but with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair and Reese Witherspoon. It hits the perfect tone of camp and committed performance, right in the center, and never misses a note.

Jesse Coombs

When it comes to adults playing "kids", I think the gold standard is Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. It's really really good (and weird), and it's also Tim Burton's first movie. (And one of his best.)

Jesse Coombs

I don't know if it's been recommended, but "In & Of Itself" would be an amazing video for you guys to react to. It's a filmed live performance (although edited and also directed by Frank Oz) that blew my mind. It's on Hulu. Also, a reaction to Hamilton (Disney+) would be great as well.
