Jeff K.

City of God all day, every day.

Luca Kelly

City of god is so so so very good

streaky

Seven Samurai should win but won't :)

Hernani

More polls like this please ! And replace intouchable by La Haine if you gotta pick a french movie.

Andi Herr

City of God is absolutely amazing!

Nathan Jasper

Whenever you do another one of these, I'd like to suggest the 2009 Girl with the dragon tattoo extended edition starring noomi rapace. In fact the whole Millennium Trilogy is fantastic

David Martin

Ohhh, and you left out "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"? Sooo much better than the English remake. Did you perhaps see it already?

Jusiu

gotta be life is beautiful

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

City of God has some of the best editing in many a film. Definitely recommended even if it doesn’t get up there in votes 😀

OrangeMg

Wow, nobody with “3 Idiots”. Some day :)

Helly R

Too many movies to mention, but hope Downfall is on one of these listes one day

Peter Dillard

Seven Samurai is not only a classic but spawned other movies with the same plot ('Magnificent Seven')

Garin

Man, I know martial arts films don’t do well in these polls but I’m so excited to see you react to Drunken Master in the future. I love hearing George’s insight and commentary as someone who understands the culture and language!

King_Panarisi

Intouchables and la Vita e Bella

Fernando Alamán

Let The Right One Win!! Come on guys, let's do it!!

Glaucia Oliveira

As a Brazilian I would love to see you react to City of God

Nemo

Anyone knows if they've seen Parasite or not? I'm surprised it hasn't been on any poll.

Lost1Sole

An additional choice for a future list : "Lola rennt" ("Run Lola Run") awesome German multi-award winning crime thriller from 1998. Also, pulse-ponding sound track!

Rodrigo Arcos

A good one for next time is "La Haine".

PartyStartsHere

La Vita e Bella was shown to us in our film studies class in High School, in the original Italian audio (with subtitles). Never seen a group of high schoolers cry so hard before.

Grinznmore

There is a reason Let the Right One In has a 98% Rating and is regarded as one of the best vampire movies.

Joe Williams

Some absolute bangers on this list! Some for next time could include La Haine, Memories of Murder, In The Mood For Love and Cinema Paradiso.

MrDorry

Oh wow "3 Idiots". One can only hope

Darlan Felix

If you liked The Wire you'll probably like City of God, it reminds me a little of part of the series, not to mention it's a masterpiece of cinema

Conner

City of God and Seven Samurai are widely considered 2 of the best films of all time. If they don't win or you never react to them, watching them independently is doing yourself good service if you're passionate about the medium.

Matrim

Seven Samurai and Drunken Master are fantastic.

Bonny T

Because it's October, Let The Right One In... but in any other month, I'd say La Vita e Bella.

Martin

I voted City of God because it’s brilliant. I refrained from voting for Let The Right One In because I’m one of the few people who preferred the English version, Let Me In, and didn’t want to ruin the chance that it would be viewed because it’s already been spoiled. Attack me if you must, but I found the English version much more atmospheric and creepy than the original. I acknowledge this isn’t a popular opinion.

Viilutaja

Why Intouchables/Untouchables are so low in voting? Hollywood even decided to make US version of that, which sucked of course. Should definetly be higher or even at top spot.

Ian Hunt

Let the Right One In is an all timer! You could give La Haine, the Orphanage and Rec a go, if you havent already

Jonathan

Man I hope Seven Samurai can pull this off.

Andrew Hussey

Let the right one in is just...something else, one of maybe a half dozen movies I have actually gotten really choked up over...you HAVE to see it

Sphh69

The Swedish movie Kopps for the next poll 🤞

James Hewitt

La Vita e Bella is an amazing movie, but also one that I never want to see again.

Ricardo Alanis

I also recommend Roma as another great foreign language film.

DemNikoArt

Ooooof... I would probably vote for City of God, but that's a tough watch. The Untouchables is probably more what you'd like to see. I would love to see more comedies. How about these? 😉 - Blades of Glory (Ridiculous comedy with Will Ferrell and John Heder about two competing male ice skaters) - Starsky & Hutch (Ben Stiller and Owen Willson teaming up again, I mean... c'mon 😁) - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Crime-Comedy from Shane Black similar to his other movie, The Nice Guys. With Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer) - Palm Springs (groundhog Day with Andy Samberg) - Cloudy with a chance of meatballs (Lord & Miller's first directed animated movie, has already their super hilarious humour) - Wedding Crashers (Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson crashing weddings 😄 ) - Beerfest (ridiculous comedy about a group of friends who compete in an international beer drinking contest) - Thank you for smoking (Satire about the smoking lobby, with Aaron Eckhart and Katie Holmes) - Mars Attacks (A comedy from Tim Burton about Aliens attacking Earth with an insane Cast including, Pierce Brosnan, Jack Nicholson, Jack Black, Glen Close, Michael J Fox etc.) - Just Friends (Comedy with Ryan Reynolds & Amy Smart about a smug guy coming back to his hometown on Christmas)

M.C.G

This is an excellent group of flms, all well worth watching. Personally I'm pulling for Seven Samurai, as that's in the running for my favorite film of all time: incredibly important to cinema, beautiful to look at, and still deeply entertaining.

PickettsChargingPort

This is a pretty easy choice. Let the Right One In is one of those 'must see' horror films. Picked Seven Samurai as a second because, well, Kurosawa

J.R.

foreign films and no memories of murder? damn

Kevin luna

Please do Pleasentville

Jay

LTROI would be apt for October but I'm voting City of God. I remember the poster said something like "The Brazilian Goodfellas". It is about gangsters alright but there isn't a hint of Goodfellas glamour in the favelas. City of God is a brutal and shocking film, it's also an incredibly wild ride that isn't boring for 1 second of it's 2+ hour duration.

DracJeriba

Lady Vengeance(2006) Joint Security Area(2000)

David Lengyel

Let the right one in is great and I'm looking forward to it. The book is excellent too. I wish there was Ondskan as an option, great Swedish drama.

TokyoLopez

i cant tell what any of these are about, so i’ll just wait for it to end and one wins so i can watch it

Random Nevermind

Wow. All the movies are super cool. I am gonna vote for all of them except the City of God). And I bet that Untouchable wins this race)) And one more recommendation "And Justice for All" with Al Pacino. Please do it one day. I think you'll going to like it.

Random Nevermind

And as for non-english movie I hope that one day you'll watch "The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe". It is a gem movie

Brandon Fong

"RRR" is probably the film I'd most like to see of any language.

Richard Maurer

Wow, it looks like Let the Right One In might finally win a poll. I've seen it get buried on other reactors polls, usually against American movies. Looking forward to it.

Robb

Add The Platform 2019 to these ones next please

Hexon66

Seven Samurai, by a mile. Not only is a brilliantly made film, it informs so much of the cinema which came after it.

Powers209

My favorite foreign movie is the 1990 La Femme Nikita.

sarCC

I highly recommend Run Lola Run and [REC]

Kate P

Intouchables is one of my favourite movies of all time so glad it’s on the poll!

Da Big Appa

I personally think George and Simone would love Life is beautiful and it's a movie that sticks with some people for life. They may cry a lot at the end but compared to the other movies its the only "must see" IMO.

Wrencher86

Recommending 13 Assassins (2010) for future non-english polls. Absolutely bonkers samurai film.

Haye Zeus

All good choices. But Seven Samurai? That’s a true classic.

Nikolaos Michaelides

The movie that inspired all of cinema, and the most copied one. Seven Samurai.

Swede for the table

Omfg!!!!!! I'd would make my month if "låt den rätte komma in" won! I think you guys will REALLY appreciate it! Considering your reactions to evil dead etc!

FranciscoGios

Nice! If 'Let the Right One In' wins thats three Halloween movies in 2 weeks closer for the Halloween Holiday and you don't see that often in Cinebinge.

James I

You guys watched crouching tiger hidden dragon, so for the next poll I would suggest Hero :)

The Gunslinger

You should check out Downfall. It is a masterpiece.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Some good choices but Im quite shocked Parasite didn't make the poll... Change of pace, Fun Movies I've seen recently to get on the request list - Dicks: The Musical - Theater Camp

HeyHeyJK

While I could vote for most of these, I'm sticking with "Let the Right One In" cuz spooky season.

ziggyroach

Life is Beautiful is a must watch in my opinion. Love the videos!

Opti_Frog

Clearly voting for Let the Right One In, possibly the best Swedish film ever made that is not directed by Ingmar Bergman, but throwing in votes for Drunken Master and City of God as well. Truly a poll for hardcore cineasts.

FromDarknessComesLight

I love Life is Beautiful! The little boy in that movie is absolutely adorable.

j c

Just an observation: I'm honestly shocked City of God isn't leading, I thought it would by a landslide

Connor Glaze

Cityofgodcityofgodcityofgodcityofgodcityofgodcityofgodcityofgod

JayF

I don't know about any of these aside from Seven Samurai and Drunken Master. I'll withhold my vote on this one and see what everyone else chooses. Also, George - Other Foreign films The Man From Nowhere (2010) A Pure Formality (1994) (Warning - convicted pedo is one of the stars) House of Flying Daggers (2004)

QuiGon_Jim (Howe)

What about some Irish films? Everywhere I go outside Ireland people haven't a notion what I'm saying. 😅

cincassette

"Good Bye Lenin!" (2003), "Das Boot" (1981) and "The Lives of Others" (2006) are some excellent German films. The French film "La Haine" (1995) also comes to mind.

Jeff W

I’d like to see you watch ‘Yojimbo’, in my opinion it is the best samurai movie. Probably my favorite movie of all time. The movie was remade a couple times, ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ starring Clint Eastwood and ‘Last Man Standing’ starring Bruce Willis. Yojimbo is much better than those two though. A Fistful of Dollars is really good though, it is part of a trilogy by Sergio Leone called ‘The Man With no Name Trilogy’. They all are starring Clint Eastwood with soundtracks by Ennio Morricone. They are ‘The Good, The Bad, The Ugly’, ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ and ‘For a Few Dollars More’, it would be really cool to see you react to those as well. Thanks for all the videos, I’m really enjoying watching Breaking Bad with you guys.

Jobbe Smit

La Vita e Bella isn't going to win and that's a damn shame. I get it's not a happy one but it's damn good. Don't we wanna see Simone weep? /s

MadCat

- My Sassy Girl (Yeopgijeogin geunyeo, 2001, romantic comedy) - A Moment to Remember (Nae meorisogui jiugae, 2004, romantic drama). To represent my home country: - The Cremator (1968, psychological thriller) - Snowdrop Festivities (1983, comedy) - The Elementary School (1991, comedy drama) - A Journey to the Beginning of Time (1955, adventure, kids) - Kolya (1996, comedy drama) - Dark Blue World (2001, war, drama, romantic) - Cosy Dens (1999, comedy drama)

Tenn Seven

"Life Is Beautiful" is such an amazing, heartfelt movie. I don't expect it to win the poll, but I always recommend people check it out.

Logan Kerlee

I see that 3 Idiots is dead last in the poll. That's heartbreaking to me! I love the movie so much and feel that both George and Simone would enjoy it quite a bit. It's a great movie!

Florian

City of god blew me away the first time I saw it, such an awsome movie! Also want to recommend some french comedy to watch - Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis (Welcome to the land of Ch’tis) - Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au Bon Dieu? (What have we done to the Good Lord?) - La famille Bélier (The Family Bélier) Also want to recommend - Im Westen nichts neues (all quiet on the western front) 2022 Oscar winning german movie about the last days of the west front of world war one

Florian

Fucked up spanish movie, El Hoyo (The Platform)

Ethan Holgate

Surprised more people aren't picking drunken master

Jeff K.

So another non-English movie for you guys to check out, if you haven't seen it: "Old Boy." Phenomenal action sequences and... well, I won't spoil it. But I want to see George and Simone react to the ending. Because I'm still fucked up from that ending, years and years later.

Brendan Rafferty

Foreign language film recommendations: Downfall (German) Battle of Algiers (French/Arabic) Black Book (German/Dutch) Ran (Japanese) Elite Squad (Portuguese) The Brand New Testament (French) Volver (Spanish) Lust/Caution (Cantonese/Japanese)

Nick Parker

Everyone needs to watch Intouchables. If you'd seen it, you'd vote for it.

Onno Smits

I'm sad Intouchables isn't winning, but I'm glad it's on your radar and hopefully you'll get to it eventually!

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) would be a good follow-up to your viewing of The Nice Guys. Also, it has Sid Shattuck's corpse in the lead role alongside Michelle Monaghan.

Darin Foat

Seven Samurai is a really magnificent movie. My only hesitation for a reaction video is that it is quite long.

E.P.B.F.

Come on City of God you can do it!!! Seven Samurai is arguably my favorite Kurosawa/Mifune movie and let the right one in is fine ( if a bit over hyped ), but City of God has been in the running for so long only to be ultimately scooped by more popular and/or Hollywood competitors it really needs to win this time.

Tim T—

Such a great poll and such great additional recommendations in the comments. My non-english recommendations are: Das Boot (1981, but better the 1997 Director's Cut) Run, Lola, Run (1998) L'Auberge Espagnol (2002) Ronja Rövardottar (1984) - Ronia Robbersdaughter - the best children's movie there is) 8 Femmes (2002) – a musical movie! All Quiet on the Western Front, both the (1930) and (2022) adaptations Downfall (2004) Hero (2002) Night on Earth (1991) Extra english-language, but well "foreign" movies: Le Grand Bleu (The Big Blue 1988) and The Last Emperor (1987), the latter one I'd really like George to see and comment.

The Pentagenarian

Recommendations - 1) Diva - absolute masterpiece of French Cinema, 2) The City of Lost Children - surrealism and it even has Ron Pearlman in a role.

tundra

Mostly Martha (2001) would be a terrific addition to your next non English movie poll.

Michael Buhl

Aguirre, the Wrath of God (Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes, 1972) 8½ (1963) The Seventh Seal (Det sjunde inseglet, 1957) Wings of Desire (Der Himmel über Berlin, 1987) Raise the Red Lantern (大红灯笼高高挂, 1991) Breathless (À bout de souffle, 1960)

Jacob King

Foreign language is such a wide category. I voted for the Swedish one but it would be good to have some nation specific polls. Some Chinese options (all different genres): Infernal Affairs Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame House of Flying Daggers Dumplings 2046

Cromulentius

Ah, Let the Right One In. The film that will have you constantly and rapidly alternating between thinking, "Aw, that's so sweet," and "Holy shit, this us fucked up." Sometimes both simultaneously.

Actuarial Lurker

Untouchables (2011) is one of the most heartfelt movies I've ever seen. The movie brings men and women to tears about the power of life

Bryan Barton

Polling seems to still be broken, but I remember City of God (Cidade de Deus) left me shook when it came out. I'll be watching that again.

Pearl Jam

🎃 Rare Spooky Treat Alert! 🎃 This Friday isn't just any Friday... it's Friday the 13th in October! 🪓 A spooktacularly rare occasion to watch the iconic horror movie "Friday the 13th" on its namesake date during the Halloween season! Not to mention, it’s one of the prerequisites for Scream.

Lola Lirola

Some women centered foreign movies for next time, so that there's not the eternal 'one (or half) only option'! - Whale Rider (2002): I hesitate to call this 'Dark Moana', but Disney took a lot of inspiration from this story of a young Māori girl who wants to be chief, and it shows the culture and beauty of New Zealand beyond LotR. - Runner up: Mustang (2015) I hesitate to call this a Turkish The Virgin Suicides, without well, the suicides, but here five sisters are also forbidden to interact with boys... - Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019): the yearning, the silences, the now iconic forbidden sapphic love... - Runner up: The Handmaiden (2016) also sapphic, but with Korean twists and turns. - Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988): *the* quintessential Almodóvar movie, an absolute landmark of Spanish cinema, and it all still holds up! - Runner up: Volver (2006) same Almodóvar style, with Penélope Cruz at her best. - Persepolis (2007): a beautiful adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's comic book about the seismic changes of life for women in Iran. - Runner up: A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) also in Iran, there is a girl vampire... - The Wedding Banquet (1993) a gay Taiwanese man makes a friendly pact to marry a Chinese woman so he can thwart his nosy relatives. -Runner up: Monsoon Wedding (2009): nothing like an elaborate indian wedding to bring out all the secrets in a family. *These two also have some dialogue in English. - Rafiki (2018): the film that was recently banned in Kenya for showing a joyous story of two women in love. - Runner up: Fucking Åmål (aka Show Me Love) (1998) Åmål is a small and boring Swedish town where two teen girls discover each other instead. - Titane (2021): because not all 'women centered stories' have to be romantic comedies, this is the weirdest, darkest, most daring option. - Runner up: Raw (2016) is the same director's first film, mixing female desire and cannibalism, already as daring out of the gate. Extra: Cléo from 5 to 7, or really any Agnès Varda movie, for a celebration of the richness of mundane life.

PoopsInShoes

Let the Right One In is good, but City of God is by far the best movie of these choices

Mati D.

Still waiting for my recommendation to appear here, 10 months an counting :( :( maybe one day

JoeE

Recommend one cut of the dead (Japanese)

JoeySnowyNoey

Let The Right One In is such a sick movie! Its manages to be equal parts horrific, beautiful and sweet.

QuiGon_Jim (Howe)

Though I haven't seen too many foreign films, and I haven't seen it since I was ~9 or 10.. I always remember liking 'Taxi' (1998). Directed by Luc Besson. Might be something to look in to for future polls.

Josh

Gosh I hope let the right one in wins. It’s my second favorite movie of all time. I remember back in 2011 getting home from work at 4 in the morning and flipping through the movie channels and stumbled upon it and couldn’t look away. I would get high and watch it once a week for months. It’s also the first movie I bought off Amazon since I couldn’t find it anywhere

wertnez

I second Aguirre, the Wrath of God.

Khalayx

Seven Samurai is magnificent (see what I did there?) and obligatory for film buffs, but I was not sure how good a reaction it would make. And honestly there are at least four other Kurosawa movies I like more. I voted for Life is Beautiful - a truly incredible film. Given current events I could cry just thinking about it. I mean no disrespect to the many people who voted for it but I am shocked to see Let the Right One In doing so well. I guess I would watch it again, maybe I missed something the first time as I do not really understand its popularity.

Richard Maurer

Had to pull my Seven Samurai vote, it's getting a little too close to Let the Right One In and I can't have that.

Tall Paul

I'm hoping Seven Samurai comes second. My favourite from the list, but I don't want to torture George with a three hour poll winner

Daniel

I'll recommend Das Boot (1981). One of the best anti war movies of all time about a german submarine crew in world war 2.

silverarrow06

Please watch La Vita e Bella sometimes. It is one of the most beautiful, hilarious movies ever made. At the same time it is heartbreaking, earth shaking, sad and yet it never looses it's optimistic perspective even in the darkest moments. It won an International Oscar in 1997 and rightfully so. 🤩

Patrick

Looks like a 3-man race, but I'm good with all 3 options. City of God is amazing, Seven Samurai is incredible as well (It's on HBOmax and Prime if patrons are wondering where to watch), and honestly I've never heard of the third option, but I'm down for a new movie.

Craig D

should have put Red Cliff on this list, the full 5 hr version.

Jeff I.

For a future foreign movie poll, I'll throw out a suggestion for Der Untergang from 2004. A really good drama about the inside of Hitler's bunker in the final days of WW2. It was nominated for an Oscar for best foreign film and all the actors are great, especially the one playing Hitler.

YYZHawk

Damn, no love for Intouchables :/

Khan1001

Damn, no chance for 3 Idiots, I have a Bollywood bias, you should have put RRR on there instead of 3 Idiots, anyway please also add 'The Secret in Their Eyes 2009' foreign version, not the American remake.

Dazzler & Em

Definetly worth watching Das Boot, Downfall, the Raid 2(Possibly better than the first film). More Jackie Chan(Armour of God, Police story 2).

Rav Low

Oh man, I'm really really pulling for Seven Samurai

Jesse Coombs

Any Kurosawa would be awesome.

Maikeru Dagurasu

Amores Perros (2000) is another good one or The Skin I Live In (2011)

lucas rabelo

City of God. plssssssssssssss

lucas rabelo

City of God, Elite Squad 1 and 2...

MacGuffinStuff

I think Seven Samurai is amazing, love Akira Kurosawa and I hope you guys do watch it, but I voted for City of God for two reasons: one, it's a true story, two, it's got a great narrative style I think you'll love.

Immortal

3 idiots such a great movie but i guess it cant win in the poll

Brandon Meng

I am losing my mind that Life is Beautiful is on a poll and doing so poorly, but thanks to the lovely commenters and people talking up City of God, that movie is shooting straight up my list of must-sees.

Björn Karlsson

Trollhunter from Norway is great 😁😁

Peter Hudson

Damn, 2nd and 3rd place right now are 2 of the best movies ever made (City of God is what I consider #1). Please bring them back to a poll soon if Let the Right One In wins!!!

Fernando Alamán

Incredibly happy (and surprised) that "Let The Right One In" won the poll. Regarding "City Of God", I hope it doesn't even need to be put in a next poll, but finds directly its place in the queue of scheduled movies. Such a powerful story told in such a masterful way (amazing editing and cinematography). No doubt a masterpiece and a modern classic.

Reece Chapford

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007)

Cash driver

a taxi driver is a very cool true story thats also non english.

Michael Buhl

The 1998 Taiwanese movie The Hole (洞) would be a good one. It's a romance between two lonely people, it's an absurdist sci-fi thriller, and it's a musical. It's also a commentary on the quality of life in Asian cities.

von Hule

If you guys stayed in Scandinavia, you cold watch The Hunt (2012) starring Mads Mikkelsen next. It's a tough watch.
