Nice to see a comedy movie thrown into the mix in October. For real, though...Bill Hader saved this entire movie.

Glad you got around to this one. This has some of the best casting of kids to adults out there for sure. And yes: Stephen King’s endings are hit and miss for many but super cool he’s in on the joke

Only liked the first one of these. Was this really voted in? Kinda surprising

The Joker was an even earlier example of the "evil clown" archetype (going back to his first appearance in 1940) and there are other examples that go back to the 19th century. But it became a Thing in the 80s, not just with It but also the character of Frenchy the Clown (from a National Lampoon magazine called "Evil Clown Comics"), the clown doll in Poltergeist and the movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space. John Wayne Gacy predates all of those and was probably an influence on most of them -- he got the nickname "Killer Clown" in the late 70s.

not voted but people have been asking for it for a while. ive seen those comments in nearly every video. wonder where those people are now.

Fun casting tidbit: the woman who plays Ziggy from The Wire’s wife is the same actress who played that character’s mom in the first movie.

With how much you love Bill Hader you NEED to watch the 3 season masterpiece, Barry! It's absolutely incredible!

Lol, Simone you killed me, When they asked "Where do we go from here?" I too started singing that song, only the end part of it instead ^__^

Calvin Allen

Love a Buffy reference. I always think of that song whenever anyone asks that.

Such a good time for Stephen King movies. If it's not already in the cards you should check out Doctor Sleep, the sequel of The Shining. Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson are top notch

Jeff I.

Four seasons, but yeah each one is only 8 episodes at 35 minutes or so each. They would definitely love it!

Thomas Hilbert

Yay, finally! I've been waiting like... 27 years for this!

I think one thing I loved about the book was Mike interviewing townsfolk of Derry and confirming that Pennywise was present during some of the worst atrocities in the towns history.

Oh my god?!?

You mentioned how striking the opening scene was, of the gay bashing at the carnival, and again later about how people almost seem like a bigger monster than It. That's a good reading, because that's based on a true event. The real-life murder of Charlie Howard in 1984 was the inspiration for that scene in the novel. It happened almost identically. Stephen King has said that the sheer brutality and callousness of that crime was more horrifying to him than any of the monsters he could create. He included it because he couldn't think of anything else that so perfectly encapsulated the pointless cruelty of humanity.
