Mark McKeown

This is certainly unexpected loll

djKENTO

NOBODY reacts to this movie because of how brutal the youtube edit is and how it gets suppressed.. But it is an ALL TIME GREAT for me. I adore this movie. Every performance in it is perfect to me… And you put such a fun twist on it by inviting an adult performer to join the reaction. I literally put Back to the Future Part 3 in my blu-ray player just now for that reaction but it can wait. This is a MUST WATCH RIGHT AWAY situation. I’m rolling joints and making popcorn. I don’t care that it’s 5:33am. LET’S GO INSOMNIAC GANG!

Ph4ZeD

REALLY wasn’t expecting this haha, career change for Simone inc?

dieselbeast

Surprised Simone would agree to this lol only 50 seconds in but she looks so uncomfortable 😂

JokerDanny

Holy shit.... I mean... I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT WOMAN IN MY LIFE!

Kasa

HOLLYLYLYLYOY FUCCK?????? THEY JUST GONNA DROP THIS LIKE THAT?????????

Luca Kelly

This is the funniest shit I ever seen, 10/10 movie tho so I’m hyped

dieselbeast

George looks so interested Simone not so much, kinda feel bad lol

Generators

why wouldnt she? it seems like Cherie is George's friend, how is this different than "hey, my dad is an expert and has personal experience in war, i wanna have him on for a few war movies".

JoshG

Be nice guys 🧡

Generators

shame their guest? you mean his joke at our expense, saying how Patrons pretend not to know who she is and prob should not google her at work? that shaming of the guest that is neither shaming or targeted at the guest?

Duncan

I would have been all in for Foxy Di

Generators

lmao holy fuck when Cherie says "im always the mom in every movie". nearly spat my drink out

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Well alrighty, excited for this reaction, big Paul Thomas Anderson fan and, this should be different, I'm here for it. Also, The People Vs Larry Flynt, great movie.

Shane Darcy

Great shout, amazing movie that is mostly overlooked nowadays. Id throw ‘Quiz Show’ in that same boat. Always gave me similar vibes to TPvLF

Martin

This is amazing. I have been asking for this reaction for so long, and not only is it here, but reacting to it with an adult film star? Next level genius. Simone and George, welcome to the weird, frantic world of Paul Thomas Anderson.

PastaDon

Holy Shit.. Ms. DeVille WHAT!! virtual handshake George.. and P.T. Anderson is goat status in the film industry.. imo.. Edit: If y'all get the chance.. checkout "Wonderland" '03.. Val Kilmer.. it's pretty dark though..

Monica Alarcon

Ooooh, extra content friday!. And it's a movie I've never got to seeing!, With a special guest, she seems nice...

Chase Lonnergan

As a movie, I enjoy it. But as someone who studied the Golden Age of Adult Cinema in college... Its historical accuracy is abysmal, and the real people that some of the characters are obviously based on have every right to be upset with it. If they had set it in the late 80s, it would have been far more accurate

Marco

Amazing.

Fernando Alamán

Extra content is always very much appreciated, but this particular (great) movie with this special guest, gotta be very fun and informative. Thanks for the surprise!!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Don Cheadle is so funny in this, especially because I generally think of him in the context of two of his performances, as War Machine, and as Rocket in Colors, a hardcore gangster Crip, and the scene where Luis tells him to "watch the phone" and he literally watches the phone like it's going to try to escape 🤣 Also, one of my favorite stories about this movie is how Burt Reynolds HATED it, and was so embarrassed by it, but it's one of my favorite of his performances. To be fair, you have to know what a cultural icon he was in the 70s, that was before my time but even in the 80s he was still a legend as Bandit in Smokey and the Bandit, that's a super fun movie btw, that definitely inspired Talladega Nights The entire cast in this movie is so good, especially at pretending to be bad at acting. Awesome soundtrack too. Oh btw, Mark Wahlberg says he got to keep the dick as a souvenir, he still has it.

JayF

My only concern is for Simone. If she was 100% down for this then okay. If not this makes me uncomfy. Anyway, we have to fix the lack of Burt Reynolds on this channel. He was a huge 70s and early 80s A-lister. Some suggestions - Smokey and the Bandit The Cannonball Run Sharky's Machine The Longest Yard (1974)

dieselbeast

If it was just George and The other lady it might have been a bad look on Simone's part if she refused to be part of this, idk Not everyone is comfortable talking to an adult star, well it's over and done with, who knows but yeah Simone's vibe was a bit different especially at the beginning eight minutes in and hardly said a word or a question 🤷 If she was uncomfortable I don't blame her

Johnny Liu

Woooowzers that was unexpected, cant wait to dive in a bit later today!

Rob M

This might genuinely be the most unexpected collab of all time

Diiirk706

What/how in the Fuck........

Elder Lyons

i just want to say my appreciation for how much content you guys put out, not just consistently but also these extra bonus content drops without trying to charge extra like some other channels do. especially considering that you guys also charge less per month than other channels... which is crazy, you charge less and give more.

Ph4ZeD

Why am I NOT surprised that George used work in porn? :D

beefjerkywizard

George and Simone out here proving why they're the best

Monica Alarcon

Wait this is about porn? I thought it was about disco...

Kyle Baker

Dirk Gently was a novel written by Douglas Adams in 1987 first, so if anything PTA got the name from that, though probably just a coincidence.

Jeff K

And then when she followed up like, "She's about to get stuck in something" immediately after... so funny.

christopher b swanson

1 of my top 10 of the 90s, and 1 of the best films ever..............also an example of how editing saves a movie, the deleted scenes show vastly different endings for certain characters that would change it, I'm glad they didn't.................also while I do think 2 people can banter better than 3, I really enjoyed her presence as a 3rd.........I'm a middle-aged guy, of course, i have seen porn, but it's not a regular habit and I have no clue who she is, but I loved watching her because it humanizes the reality of a sex worker and i respect her for it

Jay Davis

I was watching real world craziness all day and just saw this craziness. It's crazy! It's all crazy!!!

Jesse Coombs

This was awesome. Cherie is great, and it was wonderful to hear her perspective. I really appreciate that you guys have given a positive voice to sex workers. All that being said, I really hope y'all watch more Paul Thomas Anderson movies. I'm sure I've commented it before, but he hasn't made a bad movie. Some are really weird, but I wouldn't say bad. My favorites are Punch Drunk Love and The Phantom Thread, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

Jesse Coombs

The long shot of Mark Wahlberg during the fiasco of drug deal is one of my favorite shots in all of cinema. Without cutting, we actually see him thinking and processing what is happening and he realizes that he's got to turn around his life. Great directing and great acting. It's similar to the shot in Jackie Brown when Ordell is in the van with Louis and he stops to think and realizes that Jackie took advantage of Louis and how sad that makes him.

Opti_Frog

This was so much fun!

Keerit Thind

OMG finally. This movie is responsible for burning the image of Alfred Molina in an ill fitting Speedo in my mind anytime Jessie's Girl comes on.

James MacDonald

Wait, was George involved in the porn industry behind the scenes?

Joe

Ph4ZeD

So he claims but I think we all know he was a big performer

David N

If they were worse youtubers they could use those 2 faces for hundreds of thumbnails and it would probably match up with their genuine reactions.

Patrick

She graduated High School in 1996!? Holy hell does she look good. "Black don't crack." "Asians don't raisin."....trying to think of a clever white girl pornstar version of that trope.

djKENTO

Forgot to mention my favorite part, the song he sings, that’s the theme to the 1986 Transformers animated movie.

richard wilkinson

Fabulous reaction! This is a good entry into the 70s 80s. I recommend The Deuce series: the underbelly of NYC and Times Square , 42nd St in the 70s.

Martin

Yes, great observation. Such a great shot that conveys so much just from a closeup of his face. And the moment where it finally clicks with him when he finally closes his eyes, rubs his temples, and says “Alright, we’re out of here.” So powerful. A short 30 second shot with no dialogue that conveys the moment that Dirk hits his rock bottom.

Persnickity

Another great reaction!! I hope you bring Cherie back. That would be DeVine and it would be Cruella if you didn't :P

Steve Mercier

Oh, this is just fucking awesome...good shit, good shit.

Com1xguy

A very unexpected surprise! Finally!!

Chase Lonnergan

I really tried to get through the movie, but I just couldn't. LOL. Too much of what I know about the industry from the 70s conflicting with what's on screen. Simone, George, and Cherie were great. But this is like a programmer watching the movie Hackers, or a historian watching 300. Still awesome to see you guys branching out and working with interesting people. Keep killing it.

Jesus F Christ

Boogie Nights is one of those great movies to come out of the Sundance/Indie-Film resurgence of the 1990s. Paul Thomas Anderson followed it up with Magnolia & Punch Drunk Love, which you should watch too. Magnolia has a lot of the same cast as Boogie Nights, with a phenomenal dramatic performance by, of all people, Tom Cruise. It's the role that shows he's not just a movie star, but can be a really great actor. Punch Drunk Love was the first time we got to see a dramatic performance from Adam Sandler. I think you've already seen There Will Be Blood, but I could be wrong. It stars Daniel Day Lewis and Paul Dano, you'd love it too. Philip Seymour Hoffman, John C Reilly, Julianne Moore, and Philip Baker Hall show up in a few of Paul Thomas Anderson's films, and he gets great performances out of all of them. At one time, in the 1970s-1980s, Burt Reynolds was the biggest star in Hollywood. His movies weren't all that great, but his charisma and charm made them enjoyable to watch; watch Smokey & The Bandit sometime and you'll see. When he was offered the role of Jack Horner his career was at a low point - he'd been doing TV which was a step-down from film at the time, and he'd gone through an expensive divorce - and he didn't want to take it. He finally relented after 7 offers, but he disavowed the movie before it opened, thinking it was going to be a bomb and drag him down with it. That says everything about Burt's career choices and taste in a nutshell. Instead, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and he won the Golden Globe for that same category. Check out Smokey & The Bandit though, it's a really fun time-capsule of late 70s, bicentennial America. Thanks for this surprise upload, and special thanks to Cheri DeVille for being a great guest! This is one of the movies from my favorite era of cinema, and I'm glad y'all liked it.

Jihad Lee

wait i know...and watch her....ummm nevermind. im defintely watching this

CT

FYI Magnolia is referenced in Ted Lasso, early on in the 2nd season. It's a great film.

Jesus F Christ

Another thing... I can't pinpoint why, but this part of the main Boogie Nights theme/suite almost makes me tear up every time I hear it. The organ and strings sound so sad and forlorn to me that it evokes every sad feeling from childhood films like Charlotte's Web or Watership Down. It's like if The Giving Tree had music at the end, it would sound like this. https://youtu.be/F_fMFVdezhc?si=rWO22rmUQW6C8F5w&t=120 Maybe someone who knows more about music can explain it to me.

ThePVO

She forgot 'Everybody's Stepmom' when she introduced herself.

AstralCars

There has to be a huge Q&A video dedicated solely to how and why George worked in the porn industry. You can’t just drop a bomb like that and not give details! 😳

Hal451

I would love to see you guys react to more Paul Thomas Anderson films. Magnolia would be the next movie from him I would recommend watching.

Alex Ch

PTA, beautiful and sad but hopeful. Always love revisiting his films. Thanks! I appreciate the reaction and the attempt to bring something unique to the experience.

Kenneth thomas

The part where they try to rob the drug dealer was loosely based on true events where John Holmes (Dirk) befriended these dudes who robbed that guy, which resulted in the Wonderland Murders, a horrific famous murder case. There's also a movie just about those events with Val Kilmer called Wonderland. As a true crime junkie it's a pretty wild story.

Hernani

Yes more PT Anderson please !

Zayani

You need to watch X (2022) , it's about a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in rural Texas in 1979.

Young Blood Priest

I worked 12 hours yesterday and was exhausted. I get home pick up my tablet and see the alert for this movie, on a Friday and with a surprise guest (she was great by the way), I immediately perked up. Really enjoyed watching with you guys.

Bruce Ward

I've been reccomending Wonderland to many reactors with no luck. Both are great movies Also, I recently read that John C. Reilly was David Simon's first choice to play Jimmy McNulty in "The Wire." ("Yeah Tall Man, I can't wrap my head around that one either".)

Jack Urmson

Haven’t watched this movie straight through in over 15 years at least. Excellent guest with stories and insight. It’s absolutely terrible that the discrimination with banking STILL exists for people in the industry.

Justin Leone

Can we all take a moment and appreciate George's restraint for not beginning every video by saying "I'm George, friend of adult film performer Cherie Deville"? Is it only because Simone does the intros, or is George simply more humble than he needs to be?

Eddie Baker

Of all of the possible combinations of any two content creators I'm subscribed to in an online form collaborating together, this is the last pair I would've expected to see.

Wayne Kryka

Robert Ridgely, who played The Colonel, was the Hangman in BLAZING SADDLES

Ludovic Ligot

It's a great movie... and an interesting collaboration !

Cristian Garcia

Knowing how thw movie ends it was hilarious watching Simone begging: "Pls do it" haha

DM DC

This was a fun collabroation and reaction! I am not ashamed to say I know who Cherie DeVille is. Lookin great by the way! I didn't know she was that squeemish lol. Sorry but I found her reactions to some of the dark gory scenes humourous- I'm a terrible person ;) . But I know another movie with Burt Reynolds I think y'all might like. I don't know if any of you seen it before but it's one of the few musicals I actually really like. I highly recomend another collab with Cherie for it, as I think she would like this one too-that is if she hasn't already seen it. "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" 1982. It's got a great cast and is lots of laughs and fun!
