Comments

Jon

yes ! 😋 an "old" movie poll (I don't know if I have something to do with it or not, but I take it) : 12 Angry men, let's go !

Tim Nicolle

Hard to choose between Lawrence of Arabia and Casablanca. They are both so fantastic.

Luca Kelly

Literally all of them are must watches, this is the best line up yet imo

Joe Williams

Can we have all of these please 😍?

Bonny T

Would love for you to watch WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989) around New Year's Eve 🙏🏼

Jordy's_Here!

12 Angry Men doesn’t get enough love. It’s one of my favorite classics and I even had the privilege of acting in a stage production of it back 2017! Hopefully this one gets checked out at some point if it doesn’t win the poll 🙂

dudewheresmycar

Lawrence of Arabia is quite possibly the most influential movie ever made. Name a top tier AAA famous director and their favourite movie is almost always going to be Lawrence of Arabia. Steven Spielberg? Yep. Martin Scorsese? Yep.

Helly R

All mandatory.

JayF

Thank you both for this poll! I hope more classics will follow eventually.

Ramon Ibarra

12 Angry Men is a great reaction movie! I hope it wins!

Karen A

Can I vote for every single one. Wow!!!!

Mr. Writhms

If you do "2001: A Space Odyssey", please do "2010: The Year We Make Contact". Its a worthy sequel. It's not Kubrick but it's still very well made.

Grinznmore

No movie has ever reached the the cultural impact in American culture than The Wizard of OZ. Music, storyline, special effects places the film in a league of its own. It's past due for a reaction of this classic.

Woody G

12 Angry men is one of my favorite older movies, timeless and for the love of God, please do the black and white one😂😂

Thomas Thompson

Yet another movie that no one is surprised Simone has already seen.

Fernando Alamán

Great and necessary poll (imho) I voted 2001, but I'd be happy with any winner

Simon Clifton

Fantastic selection - all brilliant films! Going for 2001 myself. With only 40 minutes of dialogue , you don’t need to worry about talking over it ;)

Deserana12

It has to be 12 Angry Men! It’s just the gold standard of Screenwriting. You completely forget you’re watching an old movie after 20 minutes.

cincassette

YES!! All of these are a must watch, but personally I'd like to see 2001 or 12 Angry Men the most.

FrancescoTakesItEasy

I'd say 12 Angry Men, so I have a reason to break in my 4K disc, or 2001 because it had its 55th anniversary this year.

John

Great Poll, I would like to suggest The Good Place for a TV poll, I imagine you are getting suggestions for Better Call Saul after Breaking Bad and if you would like to continue having a comedy to watch in between seasons. I think the Good Place is fantastic the seasons are short, it along with the Wire really changed the way I looked at the world, hopefully for the better.

TD

Suggesting Super Troopers again for your next comedy poll. I think y'all would love it! There's even a sequel set in a small Canadian town on the border!

The Gunslinger

A classic you should check out is Rear Window.

Ken Schneyer

How the heck are we to choose among *these*?? I don’t think there’s any way you can go wrong with any of them.

jmundt33a

I picked 12 Angry Men. It is great. You should also check out the 1997 remake as a contrast comparison--it's updated by the same screenwriter with another solid cast.

Jay Davis

Yeah. Really. Where's the "All Of The Above" checkbox??

FaceMustache

I think you guys would love 12 Angry Men.

Martin Roca

12 angry men is soooo good

Mark Messer

2001 is a must see for everyone

Liesmith

Really hoping for 12 Angry Men; it's such a timeless classic.

Xpndable

I know YouTube edits on musicals are tough, but if The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins can make it into your list then I have to make the case for movies like My Fair Lady and Singing in the Rain

John DelVecchio

Hopefully you guys can get to “Wedding Crashers” I think is a movie you would get a lot of laughs from with a tremendous cast.

sarCC

[from the rooftops] CA-SA-BLANCAAAAAAAAAA! Just an absolutely perfect film, with one of best, wittiest scripts, accompanied by some of the best performances of all-time. An absolute delight you'll be mad you hadn't seen earlier because you could've rewatched it hundreds of time by now.

Todd R

Please be aware that 2001, while an epic at the top of the Sci-Fi genre, it is HARD sci-fi, not space fantasy or space adventure. I love it but it is slooooow in several places.

sol stapleton

Two recommendations, the rocky horror picture show and clue.

James Falato

And I'm Suggesting 1951's Christmas Classic "Scrooge" starring Alistair Sim... For Me it's the Best Version of Charles Dickens' Classic Tale "A Christmas Carol"...

JBK405

This is one of the first polls where I actually want to vote for every single option. There isn't a single stinker in the bunch.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Will take this opportunity to requests some films I recently saw that deserve a reaction when they hit streaming - Saltburn - Eileen - The Sweet East

Roxolan

Suggesting: - Brazil (1985, sci-fi dystopian dark comedy) - The Game (1997, mystery thriller) - Pleasantville (1998, earnest comedy-drama-scifi) - Hero (2002, colourful atmospheric wuxia) - Annihilation (2018, cosmic horror)

AstralCars

More polls of the classics in the future please!🙏

Happy Hanukkah

There are different approaches when it comes to voting in multi-vote polls. In this case, I voted for only movie in order to improve its relative standing, but like other commenters, I'll happily watch any of these.

Terry Yelmene

There is NO lessor movie listed in this poll. EveryEveryone of these films are ALL-TIME-CLASSICS. The ONLY reason I picked Casablanca over the the others is, that classic would be new to both Simone and George.

Long-time Sci-Fi Enthusiast

For future Classics suggestions :- (The Thin Man) Series of Films from 1934 - 1947, 6 in all. All Mystery/Comedies starring William Powell, Myrna Loy & Asta the dog, I`m sure Simone will love the latter. The 1936 film (My Man Godfrey) also starring William Powell with Carole Lombard, Comedy/Romance. The 1948 British Comedy/Romance film (Miranda) starring Glynis Johns & David Tomlinson, who 16 yrs later were the parents in the 1964 film (Mary Poppins).

Joe Williams

Some other classics suggestions: Singin' In The Rain Sunset Boulevard Night of the Hunter Paths of Glory

JoeE

Would also recommend m

Jeff K.

Dang, I was hoping 12 Angry Men or Casablanca (my pick for greatest movie of all-time; really going out on a limb there, I know). Hopefully both will get on the channel sooner than later.

MPH

You will like 12 Angry Men the most, but 2001 and Casablanca are also masterpieces.

Patrick

I voted Casablanca simply because I haven't seen it. For a fun comedy, I'd suggest "Knocked Up".

Skinny_Obelix

What a list of movies... except for Mary Poppins even though that's still a classic.

China Andronicus

Everyone should see Lawrence of Arabia and 12 Angry Men. LoA is maybe the greatest, and 12 Angry Men is more relevant ever in this day and age.

Khan1001

2001, you will see where a lot sci-fi movies got their ideas & visuals from and its mind boggling that it was made in 1968 and looks the way it does, just incredible.

p0sthum4n

Glad to see 2001 winning. I've been really wanting to recommend you guys one of my favorite films, one I think you'll both really enjoy — Ridley Scott's followup to Gladiator, 2005's Kingdom of Heaven. It is a beautiful, thoughtfully shot, almost painterly film with a charming soundtrack and extremely talented cast. Simone may recognize one of the side characters from Star Trek though I don't remember if she's into DS9 or not. If you guys are interested, it is ✨absolutely critical✨ you go with the Director's Cut, not the theatrical version, which cuts out an important subplot and is a significantly lesser film for it. In fact, the roadshow version on Amazon Prime includes both an overture AND an intermission ;)

Dioskur

oh god the king of meme movies might win... 2001 is so overrated it isnt even funny

Jeff Norwood-Brown

Apart from its age and popularity, Paul is considered a classic. Probably.

G P

Too bad Lawrence of Arabia is trailing, its the best one on this list. Glad 2001 is winning, its probably one of the most important films ever made, although I'm sure it will get a lot of hate here.

Martin

For the next “classics” poll, you have to include Ben-Hur. Long as hell, but well worth it.

Florian

In which of the thousend Seven Samurai versions would you watch it?

HeyHeyJK

As sci-fi fans, 2001 is a must. It was groundbreaking and innovative and the effects still stand the test of time, although younger brains often have issues with the pacing (hell, I saw it when it originally came out and even I have some problems with it, especially the stargate sequence which really could be half the length and still get the point across). And Casablanca is, as others have mentioned, a perfect film and one of the greats. Actually, pretty much all of those films are worthy, although watching Lawrence of Arabia on a computer screen is damn near sacreligious (same could be said of 2001, though) and it also has what is now referred to as the "white savior" trope, but the scope of that film is undeniable and the cinematography is stunning.

Jon

shit 😕 of course, that damn 2001 movie is gonna win... this movie is soooooo overrated ! I never could finish it, it's soooo boring (and when you see all the amazing films in this poll... 12 angry men, Casablanca, the Wizard, Poppins, ... it's a REAL f$% shame)....... I'm so sorry you gonna have to watch it, guys

Huckleberry lobo

So many classics, I hope my recommendation is on par. Ghostbusters 2 : Electric Boogaloo 👻

punterjoe

2001 & Lawrence of Arabia are films designed to be epic spectaculars: On giant screens in ostentatious old movie palaces. (You kind of know it was intended to be a cinematic EVENT when it starts with an overture and has an intermission!) I seriously question how much impact both lose on small screens - or heaven forbid - tablets or smartphones. That's why I voted for Casablanca. It's crisp b&w cinematography, surprisingly witty dialog and unconventional storyline help make it enjoyable no matter how modest the medium.

JoeE

Would also recommend some like it hot and the searchers

NobleProfession

Please include Harakiri next time! It’s literally my favorite movie. Also this is an amazing poll. SO MANY PERFECT FILMS!

MapleResolve

There's no "all of the above" option. All of these are must-see.

NobleProfession

To be honest I find Casablanca is the most overrated movie by far! I hate it, it makes no sense and expects the audience to think it’s just normal whilst most people don’t even think it’s not normal.

NobleProfession

The Sound of Music should be on here next time.

Travis H

I am also a “all these movies should be seen” person. But I am throwing support to 2001 simply because SO many movies that you have watched or will watch eventually, have been highly influenced by it or referenced it! Future classics to watch: Singing in the Rain Citizen Kane Sunset Boulevard Some Like it Hot Rear Window (or just Hitchcock in general)

Steve Mercier

Holy $#!+...2001: A Space Odyssey is soooooo my favorite movie, but that usually gets eye-rolls and "How pretentious"s and "That movie's boring"s and I'm really surprised it's in the lead right now. Sweeeeeeeeet...

Philipp Roensch

I'm very happy with all of these, but 2001 and Lawrence I just added to the collection in fine remasters, yet have to see them!

Tony E Crumpton

The Wizard of Oz is what I believe to be the WORST movie ever made. The Lion and Tin Man are obviously just men in costumes and face paint. I'm not sure about the scarecrow, though—he could be real. 12 Angry Men gets my vote, but it's a hard movie to talk over since it's all dialog. Heck, every movie on this list is a masterpiece...except for The Wizard of Oz, of course.

G P

You all should react to Amadeus (does not fit in this category)

Garrett Mazzuca

Pulling for 12 Angry Men, but it looks like 2001 is winning. Not like there's a bad choice here regardless.

Greymond

I'm incredibly surprised by the votes for 2001. You guys are all trolling George and Simone, right? I watched that on a flight from Sacramento to Vancouver and I swear it took 12 hours. I never wanted to rip my hair out so badly after a movie...

scott melton

For more Bogie, The Big Sleep is awesome. Bogart + Bacall, and the snippiest dialogue ever.

Random Nevermind

OMG! Voted for everything! Giant thank you, Cinebinge. And two suggestions for the future classic's poll: A Streetcar Named Desire Breakfast at Tiffany's

Jacob King

Do people really enjoy 2001? Its incredible and I appreciate the chance to get my bluray out but Casablanca is so much more fun.

HyandoMG

Two of my fav' movies ever (Lawrence of Arabia & 7 samurai)! It's christmas before time.

Marko T.

Suggestion: Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. Returns is a great winter/Christmas movie.

Marko T.

You should react to Star Wars: Holiday Special (1978). That could be a funny reaction.

Khal Atlas

12 Angry Men is so good! As much as I love it you definitely need to watch both it and 2001 A Space Odyssey

Michael Buhl

I wish Sunset Boulevard was on this poll.

MotoDork

Now the question becomes as thus: do I watch along with my Blu-ray or my laserdisc?

Vwlss Nvwls

Seven Samurai is one of my favorite movies. I watch it at least once a year, and it never disappoints. All these classics are excellent... so I picked them all. =P

JFC

All of these are excellent. I hope, since the second place 12 Angry Men got so many votes, they do it too. 2001 is overdue.

Logan Kerlee

Lawrence of Arabia is a classic film that I ALWAYS recommend to people. It's dark and kinda sad.. but it's damn entertaining! Easily my favorite to watch on this list, here. :)

Thomaz Chagas

- Almost Famous (2000) - Big Fish (2003) - Make sure Simone is hydrated before watching.

sheriffjt

Yojimbo is also a great Kurosawa film, if that's new to both of you.

Lex Kuzma

Poll isn't working for me but I have to go with Lawrence of Arabia just because so few people do that one. Casablanca is another great one.

Kenneth thomas

Is there a Wizard of Oz + Dark Side of the Moon option?

FischerMax98

A lot of good movies in this poll. I really want to see what you can do with 2001:A Space Odyssey. Just re-watched it about a week ago. Wish I could have seen it on the big screen.

Aaron M

I voted for The Wizard of Oz in the hopes that will lead to a Return to Oz reaction. The former is a classic, the latter is one of those 80's "children's" movies that today would probably be a horror film. It is wild, and worth a watch just for the weirdness alone.

Kate Suhr

With Christmas coming up soon could you react to Home Alone 2 Lost in New York? I think you only reacted to the first so far. Also recommend Die Hard 2 if you haven't seen it yet.

CD

This will be interesting. It’s a must-watch film, and it got my vote; but it’s…”challenging”. I think the first time I saw it, I was kinda speechless. Can’t wait!

Christoph Plank

in the middle of TL, just came to suggest Mullholland Drive by David Lynch and After Hours. You need some surrealism in your media diet.

Be Human

Pumped for this one, favorite film of all time.

Lock_Down

Omg this is a tough poll tho. All were great movies, but 12 Angry men was the best of all.

peter mcconnell

I'd say Lawrence of Arabia but you probably don't have 70mm projector, original reel and a 90 ft screen in your apartment. Make sure the first time you see this film is on a big screen on film.

Ethan Holgate

Do you guys see yourselfs reacting to James Cameron's Avatar movie's one day or have you already seen them I'm just curious thank you

Jay Davis

I'm a bit shocked. NGL. You two are obviously students of film in at least some capacity. Heck, one of you even starred in an Academy Award Winning film iirc. Aaaand you HAVEN'T seen Lawrence of Arabia. For shame!

Brandon Meng

This may not get any traction because this poll has been out for a while, but I'm just seeing you guys have not seen Home Alone 2, which is just as good as the original. That + Love Actually are Christmas essentials!
