How can the same shit happen to the same guy twice?!

Jeff K

Was not expecting George and Simone on a Friday morning but I’ll happily take it.

Anthony Harris

Bruce Willis first starred in TV series Moonlighting with Cybil Shepherd which was a a couple of PI's but was also part comedy. It was in the 80's IIRC. Was a big hit at the time, even here in Australia.

Jeff K

I've never actually watched that show, but if I'm not mistaken, it was just FINALLY made available for streaming, right? I wanna say on Hulu. Might need to check it out...

Anthony Harris

Also Die Hard 3 is so good. YOu are gonna love it. Can't wait for your reaction, hopefully soon

Trolez

Definitely watch Die Hard 3!

Gavin Kinsey

Do watch the 3rd one, it doesn't have the same Die Hard feel, but it is a great movie nonetheless.

Helly R

Die Hard 3 is the second best. One of the best action thrillers of the 90s. Recommended!

Johanna Caulfield

Bruce Willis was considered a comedic actor before Die Hard. He was actually a pretty unconventional casting at the time.

Enchiladitos

As a building maintenance engineer, steam should not shoot out randomly from pipes and hvac ducts can’t be used to travel everywhere in the building. That being said I love all the die hard movies. Also love Marvin representing for the profession!

A Red Mage Named Blue

If you want to watch more films involving naked guys in hotel rooms, you could watch the Jackie Chan classic City Hunter

Byron Abrahams

The Whole Nine Yards. Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis, and it's genuinely hilarious.

Jeff K

Die Hard with a Vengeance is absolutely a must watch. Second best of the franchise, and much more grounded than this one. Also, since it takes place during a heat wave in the summer, it is definitely *not* a Christmas movie.

Jim Howe

Die Hard 3 is top tier.

Shibby

Die Hard 3 is almost as good as 1 and definitely better than 2. I also think Die Hard 4 is also worth watching, it's a lot of fun.

RandomNevermind

Jet kerosine actually burns... really bad. You can drop the lighter into it and there will be no fire anymore. It burns only when it is vaporized or sprayed or temperature around is really high. So the explosion at the end is impossible.

Jeff K

The first three Die Hard movies are kinda like the first three Indiana Jones movies; the first is a classic that introduces a new, every-man type of action hero. The sequel gets a little out there and over the top with the set pieces and just has a totally different feel. And then the third in both franchises returns to its roots, pairs our hero with a sidekick to join the adventure and banter/argue with, and tones down the ridiculousness substantially.

RandomNevermind

Die Hard 3 is really good. Die Hard 4 is not that good but still okay for me. It has a style, nice action, and interesting CGI. Die Hard 5 is unspeakable horror. It is so insanely totally awful that I can not believe that it actually exists. It should be a nightmare no one ever seen.

Matt O'Keefe

Along with most people commenting, Die Hard With A Vengence(3) is amazing. It is not a Christmas movie(spoiler?) so you do not have to wait to watch it.

Danika Silva

Ugh overrated series 🙄 😒

Elder Lyons

lmao that fucking 'eye-cicle' pun had me rolling

JJ Muscatel

That was fun as usual. If you want a couple Bruce Willis comedies to checkout, The Whole Nine Yards with him and Matthew Perry is hella funny. Also, for a darker early 80’s comedy, Blind Date might be worth a watch down the road.

Jeff Norwood-Brown

Because of growing up with Moonlighting, I always thought of Bruce Willis as a comedy actor. A happy, hairy, comedy actor. Interestingly he doesn’t appear in the film Paul. Which you should watch.

Tim f

Next one is great!

Zero Cochrane

The next 2 movies he gets way more beaten up than he did in this movie.

John Richards

Die Hard 2 may be the dumbest movie of all time. The plot is to have planes circle an airport until they run out of fuel - even though there are 3 other airports minutes away, and pilots are too stupid to notice?

Jeff K

Yeahhh... setting this in DC -- which has multiple airports (don't remember how long some have been there so, sure, maybe a couple of them weren't open yet when the movie was made) -- is wild since Philly and Baltimore are RIGHT THERE.

Matt Mccleland

Watch Hudson Hawk - Bruce Willis weird action comedy. Lots of "OMG" moments.

Wrencher86

Die Hard 3 is at least as good as the first and arguably better, IMHO.

Dan

Mythbusters tried the fuel trail thing and IIRC busted it. In general the whole plot wouldn't work in about 15 different ways. Hacking the ILS to "change sea level" isn't a thing, ILS doesn't work like that. Preventing comms - not feasible, lots of radios that could talk to the planes on tower frequency or on guard (121.5MHz), including US military aircraft that could be called upon. And the planes can talk to each other. Lots of other places to land (civil and military) and pilots won't wait for permission if they really need to divert, they'll just declare an emergency and do it. Still a lot of fun, though.

Trevor Rotan

Bruce Willis got his start on a comedic Television show called Moonlighting. The first movie I saw with him was Blind Date with Kim Basinger, a very funny romantic Comedy.

Kangdarius

I would’ve been cool with them completely skipping this movie just so they can get to with a vengeance. Guess we gotta wait til next year for that 🙄

Kamil Krawczak

Bruce in comedies: Moonrise Kingdom , Death Becomes Her, The Last Boy Scout, Red, Cop Out, The Whole Nine Yards,

JBK405

People have already said it a bunch, but yes you need to watch "Die Hard With a Vengeance". People will argue over whether it or the first one is better, but everybody agrees it's better than 2 (And the later sequels).

Jinyatta

I hope you guys do the next one!

Elder Lyons

ive seen you post this kind of condescending sarcastic comment multiple times in the past, and i dont think its ever been true. this time im gonna screen cap it with the date and see how wrong it actually will be

michael clarke

you need to do die hard 3 soon. part one is a perfect movie imo, but 3 is my favorite. also, please consider watching "once were warriors". its a movie made by a documentarian that was studying the maori people. its fiction, but drawing heavily on what he observed there. george lucas liked it so much that he put a lot of the cast in the star wars prequils. it has a 93 percent on rotten tomatoes. as someone who is canadian indigenous, it was very reflective of my experiences. please give it a watch.

Travis H

As others have said watch Die Hard 3! And if I remember correctly it’s not a Christmas movie so watch it whenever. Die hard 4 is probably about as good as 2 so go ahead and watch that. As for Die Hard 5 contrary to what the internet says, it simply doesn’t exist. So don’t bother looking it up, you would just be wasting valuable time. Bruce Willis is great at comedy but didn’t do that many because people tended to only want him as the action hero/tough guy. Here are some I would recommend: Whole Nine Yards Over The Hedge (He also did a fun arc on Friends but obviously you aren’t covering that) (And I appreciated your eye-cicle joke George)

Kron0n

Bruce Willis started his career as a comedian. Also, this movie is now Die OMG 2. Die Hard 3 is the best of the series.

Wrencher86

They'll watch Paul one day, man. I'm sure of it. They'll get to Ravenous right after that and then the sun will burn out. But I have hope!!

Ian Hunt

As everyone else has said, watch the third when you get a chance. Such a fun movie

Jeff Norwood-Brown

Ejector seats have parachutes and sometimes life rafts built in. They smash the canopy (or roof in the case of a C130), release the camera drone to film you screaming on the way up, eject you and the seat by rocket motors and open the parachute on the way down. Some are fitted with grenade fuse suppression fields to give you more time to do your seatbelt up, make sure you’ve got your wallet and phone, finish your coffee etc, as demonstrated in the documentary you just watched.

Eversharpe

For a peek at peak comedic Bruce, IMO, you gotta watch Hudson Hawk. It's terribly rated and got panned critically but I find it just fun. Oh and he sings...

Pam Nail

Bruce Willis has definitely done comedy. His first big role was on a (mostly) comedic detective show called Moonlighting (it just started streaming on Hulu). I highly recommend watching at least a couple of episodes (not necessarily for the channel). There's an especially iconic one where they parodied Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.

GBmain

definitely do Die Hard 3... probably the most fun out of all of them... or maybe it's just because it was on cable a lot when I was young, but i have fond memories...

Jim Howe

Also, people like to whinge about the 4th film but it's definitely worth a watch.

Michael Robayo

Please please please react to Die Hard with a Vengeance. In some ways it’s better than the first. And director John Mctiernan returned to direct. Co starring Samuel L. Jackson. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Happy Hanukkah

If Simone likes helicopters so much, then surely you crazy Canucks should watch Sudden Death (1995). 13:26 Ah, so that's why John McClane prefers the air ducts; it allows him to maintain the high ground!

Mr TV Eye

"Die Hard with a Vengeance" is a must watch, it's got a little different "feel" than the first two, but it's a great action movie, and I clearly rate it above part 2. I don't care much for the rest of the franchise, not terrible, but - IMO - a significant drop in quality.

Lachlan Caldwell

Personal screens on planes would have been introduced in the early 2000's, with the advent of LCD monitors becoming more mainstream. Bruce Willis Comedy Movies: The Whole Nine Yards (also staring Matthew Perry). Death Becomes Her (with Goldie Hawn and Merryl Streep). Hudson Hawk (with Andie McDowel and Richard E Grant).

brian burke

i like die hard 2 only slightly less than die hard 1, i still remember seeing this at the theater when in was 12. it was a great time. i dunno about people seeing this on a plane but a few people i know were scared to fly after seeing or even hearing about what this movie said was possible. i hate flying anyway but have done it, but this movie didnt make me fear it anymore. by the way william sadler the main bad guy in this , colonel stuart, was in the shawshank redemption and the mist, and the the grim reaper in bill and teds bogus journey. i know you saw the others but you should do bogus journey. but william sadler is really good, less known actor who is able to be unrecognizable alot.

DanDanDanDanDan

Don't let Die Hard 2 put you off watching Die Hard with a Vengeance - which is one of my favourite movies :D

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

die hard with a vengeance is awesome! Im probably in the minority .. but live free or die hard after that is one of my personal favorites. I know a lot of people aren't crazy over it, but i think there are main aspects of the film that George may definitely appreciate.

Aussiefeld

Diehard With Avengence (3) is amazing, everyone needs to see it, if you like computers and hacking then Diehard 4.0 is good as well, I like it, avoid 5 completely, I watched 5 and still can't see the point of it.....

Bryan Sullivan

I enjoyed this movie a lot more before I worked in the airline industry. 😁 As others have mentioned, much of this was debunked. Every flight has an alternate landing airports if they run low on fuel. Also, I actually manage crews that work in bag rooms, where the bags go after you check them. Except for the steam, that early scene was fairly accurate...just add more bag belts and more bags.
