Yess! Love these films

djKENTO

Shout out to all the homies who pulled an all nighter and are watching this first thing in the morning.

jmundt33a

Skip the third. It is awful

Brendan Rafferty

Trivia: Hugh Jackman was relatively unknown and was cast at the last minute. Dougray Scott (the villain from Mission Impossible 2) was cast as Wolverine and Paramount recalled him for contractually obligated MI2 reshoots right as X-Men was beginning principle photography. It is believed Paramount did this just to sabotage Fox. Hugh Jackman was hired as shooting already started. This is why he appears less buff in this film… unlike his other Wolverine appearances, he did not have time to bulk up for the role. I have no doubt Dougray Scott lays in bed every night and stares at the ceiling, thinking about the career he could have had.

JayF

...whaaaat? I just assumed you both had watched all of these because you stayed away from most of the MCU stuff. Interesting. These will be fun for you. Especially Days of Future Past which is the gem of the franchise IMO.

Brendan Rafferty

The original X-Men films were a little weak… the (sort of) reboot films with a younger X-Men, starring James MacAvoy, taking place in the 60’s and 70’s are far superior

JoshG

Days of Future Past and Logan are in my opinion, the best of X-men.

JediLounger

I’m a fan of these movies, all of them really, even with all their obvious flaws. I support the idea of watching all of them, given how the story works (in the movies and comics). Unfortunate that you guys have seen the end already, but that’s ok. The journey is still worth it.

Brendan Rafferty

Mystique: Rebecca Romijn > Jennifer Lawrence And no… I’m not judging women on their looks. I’m saying her make up was better (kinda weird that the newer version had worse make-up) …and Romjin’s performance (the evil smile and athleticism) was better for playing Mystique

Odd Thomas

Noice! All the X-Men movies are great, though as with any long running franchise some are better than others. Dark Phoenix with Sophie Turner gets a bad rap for example but I frickin' LOVE that film - if nothing else the Hans Zimmer score is OFF THE HOOK. (I'm sure someone will reply to this post with 'yOu LikE dArk PHoeniX, lol', but frankly my dear...)

Odd Thomas

Just don't google 'Bryan Singer scandal', lol

Persnickity

Im writing this before the video starts. Well done on nailing the release date 1/7/24

Christoph Plank

It's been weeks sine there was a movie I would watch a reaction to. Can I look forward to something like 12 Angry Men anytime soon? Or do I have to start caring about fucking X men and Adam Sandler? Oh and the sequels...what's up with that? How about some thoughtful, original stuff?

Astraeos

Unexpected, but awesome as heck? I was actually just thinking about watching some of the first X Men movies...

Alexrandom

You should have a look at the stickied post. If you are not happy just leave. There is no need to bring negativity here. I don't enjoy most of these either, I'll just come back when I like the movie. It's as simple as that.

Astraeos

Wait wait wait. As Canadians, you've never seen Fly Away Home??? Expecially you Simone? Um, yeah. That needs to be watched by you guys ASAP. Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin, and its all based off a true story. Its honestly a great movie. One of the best kids movie, IMO. I watched it actually recently, and it totally still holds up. Completely. You guys need to watch that, ASAP.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

So if I had to chose a power I'd say telekinesis, especially the way Jean is, where she can levitate herself, I just think that's one of the coolest powers, also teleportation like Nightcrawler is pretty awesome. Regeneration is probably the most pragmatic power but being able to teleport is probably the best power for an introvert aside from maybe invisibility lol, like I don't want to be here anymore and boom I'm out! And never have to pay for concert tickets again.

imperial

While I agree it’s not great, it doesn’t make sense to skip a movie in a franchise. Some of the scenes are pretty important.

Skyruff

Hehe, I have never “read” any of your intos but I always love them anyway. ( never skip )

Śéáń

I've only seen that film once, in the cinema when I was 8, and so much of it has stuck with me despite almost never hearing anything about it since. It always comes back to mind whenever I see geese flying in formation.

AzraRillian

Fun fact for all you gamers, the screenplay for this movie was rewritten by David Hayter who got solo credit as the writer for the final screenplay. Those who don't know, Hayter is best known for his voice acting role as Solid Snake in the first four Metal Gear Solid video games.

JediLounger

And I’m sure you can do both of those without violating the rules of the community. Trust yourself, you have the power. I believe in you.

Elder Lyons

1. people like you Christoph Plank love to just use "well its my opinion" as if its some sort of shield to justify being unpleasant, voicing your opinion and NOT shitting on other peoples preferences arent mutually exclusive. you can do both. 2. this channel isnt here solely for you and your personal enjoyment, they cant read your mind on what you might like or not like. 3. no one is forcing you to be here. feel free to go be toxic elsewhere. 4. whatevers doing this to you to make you the way you are, i hope it stops soon.

Duncan

Starting a movie franchise on a reaction channel ,where George has already seen the first 8 movies of the franchise 😕 Yeah no thanks , i'll pass

punterjoe

Nice Michelle Pfeiffer quote Simone. Perhaps not as obscure as you thought. 😏

Elder Lyons

you only watch films that are new to both of them? man youre missing out on a lot then. like all the asian cinema they did, titanic, the entire harry potter series. not to mention in this case, george even says its sort of new to him in that hes seen it in a different language only.

JoshG

I hope you guys go through all of the X-men movies. I like all of them, even the unpopular ones. But if you want to see a fantastic Hugh Jackman performance, you should watch Prisoners!

Christoph Plank

I'm the only one attacked here for saying I don't like some movies. I'm using my voice to express frustration with the recent selections. If enough people agree, they'll have to listen, otherwise no harm done and I'll probably leave.

JoshG

Did he say he’s seen all of them? I must’ve missed that. I’d personally still wanna see Simone’s reaction.

Elder Lyons

ya except youre not "just" voicing your opinion. here's you: "Or do I have to start caring about fucking X men and Adam Sandler? Oh and the sequels...what's up with that? How about some thoughtful, original stuff?" no ones forcing you or telling you to care. and whats up with what? they do waves of different genres, when they did 12 angry men they were on a wave of older films with 2001 and its a wonderful life, before that theyve done waves of 80s action, and then waves of comedy. imagine when they posted 12 angry men, which was fantastic, but imagine if someone else came along and said "man whats with these fucking old ass movies, why cant they do some fun stuff, something from this century or do i need to start caring about this old shit". and lastly, if you really have trouble voicing your opinion without shitting on someone else's, then you need to examine how you talk to people. here's an easier and more pleasant version of what you said "not my kind of film, looking forward to some older movies soon. here are my suggestions___ ___ ___". see how easy that is? no implication at all that anyone who do like xmen or adam sandler movies = doesnt like thoughtful original stuff.

Christoph Plank

1. How am I being unpleasant? I criticized their movie selection. 2. I know that I'm just one person. I'm not saying they need to change anything just because of me. They can't read my mind? Well, that's why I posted. 3. I'm not being toxic. 4. Now THAT is toxicity.

djKENTO

Fun fact, the stunt coordinator on this film is Ke Huy Quan aka Short Round aka Waymond from Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Elder Lyons

toxicity is like having bad breath, its not up to you to decide youre being toxic, its up to everyone else who has to interact with you. you see how multiple people came in to tell you to chill? if 1 person tells you youre being an asshole, you have a disagreement. if multiple people are telling you you are being an asshole, youre an asshole. its not up to you to decide how your behavior and how you talk impact other people. its up to everyone else. you only have monopoly on what you say, not how everyone else hears it.

E. D.

I never skip the intros.

Elder Lyons

i mean i wouldnt be surprised if he has. but Albert im genuinely curious, for example theyve said it many times that Simone knows star trek well but George has never seen any. if they ever decide to do those shows or movies, would you also skip them?

Christoph Plank

Tim Minchin once said, "Most arguments are kept alive by a failure to acknowledge nuance. We tend to generate false dichotomies and then try to argue one point using two entirely different sets of assumptions." We love reading your discussions and hearing your point of views in the comments, its George's favorite thing to do when sitting on the toilet- but not when it devolves into baseless and pointless insults and arguments, all that does is make the arguers angry, other patrons have a bad time, and George to have a sad shit. Not every conversation needs to be won and not every opinion needs to be changed. It's okay to not agree with others without engaging, what someone else, or even what we say on camera, is not a direct attack to you or those you know and love. If you find yourself typing a response in anger, before you press that "Send" or "Comment" button, read what you wrote out loud. Pretending you are saying it to someone face to face and not just an anonymous name on a screen, imagine that person is someone you know and care about but disagrees with. Would you still say those exact words? And if after all that you still feel like saying it, then ask yourself a second question. Does it really matter? There's no winning or losing arguments on the internet, there is only two people getting angrier and angrier as the argument drifts further and further from the original point. So let it go, walk away and remember that you're here to enjoy movies and tv shows with friends. Please, be excellent to each other. My post doesn't violate any of those rules. I think that yours violates a lot of them. I'm allowed to hate or dislike movies. I used to get offended when someone hated on a thing i liked, but that is the nature of media engagement. It is necessary and human.

Śéáń

I love the original XMen trilogy. Some of the strongest comic book films before they became such a big thing. The perfect casting of Stewart and McKellen really tentpoled the series so well. They are so damn good in these roles. The later films were had their ups and downs, but these films set such great groundwork for the MCU's eventual rise, even if it couldn't be a direct part of it.

djKENTO

Its events are redeemed by later films. It’s a crossroads for the franchise and vital now I think

Elder Lyons

the fact that you think those are rules rather than suggestions on how to be more pleasant and to understand that its okay for other people to like other things without needing to shit all over it really shows you fundamentally did not understand the point of the post. and the fact that you keep returning to "im allowed to hate or dislike movies" really shows you lack awareness of what everyone is trying to tell you. i and i can safely assume, no one cares that you personally dont like any of the recent films. you have every right not to like them. what we care about, is in the same sentence also make a statement that anything you dont like = bad, not thoughtful and unoriginal. because thats a slap in the face to everyone who does like those things. and just like how youre allowed to not like something, everyone else is allowed to like something without needing to your negative shit.

Elder Lyons

you really seem to fail to grasp that no one is telling you you arent allowed to dislike these movies. no one cares that you dont like them. what everyone is trying to tell you is that you can make these statements all you like without also making it sound like anyone who does like them is wrong.

Adam Barry

Do release order for the X-Men movies. The stories do interleave a bit between Wolverine and the prequel X-Men movies.

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Yes, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are mutants. Wolverine is also an Avenger. In the Ultimate Universe even Spiderman is a mutant and the spider only activated his ability. Cyclops is supposed to learn and control his powers without glasses in the future and the same with Rogue, Storm was seeing as a goddess in Africa. Also almost all mutants powers are usually activated with puberty.

Christoph Plank

I was refering to sequels. Is it thoughtful and original to just make another thing of a thing that already exists (save a few obvious exceptions)? Btw, it's not "everyone else" who tells me this, it's a few people out of thousands.

JediLounger

I just got to the end of the movie with you guys. Do release order, 100%. Make sure you watch to the very end of all the credits, as the stories weave in and out, and there are multiple end credit scenes that get picked up in the next movie that comes out, which is not necessarily the next movie in that particular series. I believe the after credit scenes start in X-Men 3: The Last Stand.

JoshG

I suggest release order

Philipp Roensch

I would suggest X2, then Prequels 1-4, finally Wolverine 2+Logan. That is if you want the skip the weak ones and kinda keep the timeline straight. And just in general, I like the changes to origin stories they made with these movies, apart from rushing it for film, it has quite a few good metaphors in it for queers and other people feeling unseen. My favorite power is teleportation of course, but that is almost beyond the mutant concept being biological, so Nightcrawler I guess? He is cool.

Persnickity

Nothing. In the intro George said they filmed this reaction before December. Scheduled the release and hit the date. He also talked about how everyone skips the intros. Irony incarnate. I mean that with offense. Also what I said wasn't very funny or interesting

K Murray

This series is very messy, to put it lightly. Some real gems and some real stinkers.

Christoph Plank

Why are you attacking me personally? You're insulting me left and right, calling me ignorant, toxic and hoping they silence me (to be dramatic). My feeling is that I never shat on anyone, at all. Unlike you just did. I'll leave it at that, this is pointless.

Keith Jones

Speaking of Sir Stewart going bald. My first memory of him is playing Leodegrance in Excalibur in '81. You can google a picture of him in that, he was like 40 when that was filmed. I think there is still some hair there...but not enough to mention.

Martin Roca

I only care about Logan, the rest is fine by me, whatever order you want.

Odd Thomas

It's a good rule for every reaction to watch til the end credits imo; it's not always the films you expect that have them either, i.e. Lethal Weapon 3.

Astraeos

To your last question, my opinion is release order, always. Never any question in my mind. Thats how they were released, thats how everybody saw them, thats how they should be watched. I think that applies to everything where this question comes up

Odd Thomas

Someone may have already mentioned it but the best (and worst) lines are courtesy of Joss Whedon, who did rewrites on the script.

Brendan Rafferty

If you had regenerative healing powers, your tattoos would be erased.

JediLounger

They’ve seen Logan unfortunately. They say as much in their Deadpool 2 reaction.

Paul Schmitt

The actor who played the truck driver who drops Rogue off at the bar at which Wolverine fights in the beginning, voiced Beast in the Animated Series and the upcoming sequel series X-Men ‘97 coming out this year.

simon brouillard

Release and can’t wait to see what you have planned for halloween 2024 also, There will be blood 🙂

Elvenwitch

I love the intros! I usually play a hand of MTG while listening.

Khan1001

This is a nice surprise, hope you watch the rest of them, X2 was great, X3 was a bit of a let down but still enjoyable, rest of the franchise was a bit hit & miss, Logan (2017) was a masterpiece. Can you also watch Superman (1978) & Batman (1989), I know George hasn't seen that, thanks.

REDR58

Ah, the year 2000. I was out of college a few years by then and was thinking what a milestone 2000 was going to be and how things might change for good or ill, what new exciting things would be coming along. And suddenly it’s 24 years later and things are pretty much the same.

Adverb

My vote would be release order. As others have said, the series is a bit up and down, but there are some great movies along the way.

REDR58

I remember when this movie came out and the infamous “What happens to a toad when it’s struck by lightning” how lame the punchline turned out to be and how clearly the right answer obviously should have been “It croaks.” I think someone even mentioned that in the filmmaker’s comedy on the DVD that I watched sometime afterward…So clearly I wasn’t the only one to conceive of such a brilliant punchline. Bad timing, I suppose.

JediLounger

Yeah. Though I would support them doing a rewatch of the black & white version.

Tay Schumaker

The toad/lightning line was Whedon's but he meant it to be lighthearted and self aware, not played seriously like it is in the movie. Doesn't land

Tay Schumaker

Something I just realized watching this again, and Simone touched on it, why would Wolverine's wounds come back when he gives his power to her? That makes 0 sense

punterjoe

Was the "Man mauled by a bear" line a joke reference to a coverup of someone attacked by Sabertooth? 🤔

Christopher Feiertag

As someone whose mother tongue is German, it’s quite amusing to hear how Patrick Stewart pronounces the german word “Lehnsherr”.

K Murray

Not really accurate the say the healing is Wolverine's superpower and the claws aren't. He has more than one. The senses too.

DM DC

I don't skip the intros. I love you're intros. You two always make me laugh. Have you two seen Mystery Men? If not you totally should. It's a great film. I'm thinking for Simone's intro thing; I'm thinking she's saying if she was alergic to cats she'd be gone because she has cats. (can't recall if she has just one or if she has two.) That's what I get from it anyway. Love you guys. For this movie alone. I have always liked the idea of telekinesis. But being able to heal would be nice. If I could get away without killing anyone having Rogues power would be nice because you could get other powers. However if we remove her power and just go with the others, I'd have to say I'd like Jean Grey's power. Even with the side effect. You'll learn about that later in the trilogy. Rogue's power was always there it just didn't start to manifest until that moment when she kissed the boy. Great reaction. I would recommend Release order. Besides Hugh Jackman, X-Men Last Stand has one of my favorite casting choices of the franchise. I'll post that in the comments for that one.

Duncan

I have noticed in recent weeks that this Captain Vimes character seems to always go looking for trouble in these comments sections ,always seems to be attacking others for simply voicing an opinion ,he seems to not be able to accept any opinion that differs to his and then resorts to personal attacks Mr Vimes ,may I suggest that you consider taking a time out from the comments section unless you can control your temperament

sarCC

Huh, wild. I mean you've already watched the best ones (both Deadpool movies). First Class is good on its own, but its sequels are terrible. Logan's great, but wouldn't that be a rewatch for George? I know alot of people love X-2 X-Men United, but I really think only the opening scene is worth watching.

K Murray

The lightning line is 100% a direction issue imo. It's a Whedon joke but she delivered it so flat and seriously. As a joke it's fine.

Nate Terry

Release order is kinda important for story. Scarlet witch and her brother where mutants, but like George said, they couldn't use "mutant" in the MCU...except now they can since Disney bought it. I think I heard once that X men premise with their powers is that they have pros/cons. they aren't all like superman and captain america who have "perfect" powers. their powers are cool, but they also can be seen as a curse...remember a lot of the mutants in this movie had physical appearance changes like Mystique, Toad, and Sabertooth stand out and can't blend in(except Mystique), which would make them a bit salty and understandable that they would follow Magneto. Cyclops can't close his eyes, Rogue can't touch anybody..etc. I like this in X men it gives a since of weakness to the characters instead of having them all perfect powers

Odd Thomas

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is ok but it doesn't really add anything to Logan's backstory that you don't learn in other films and it feels superfluous. It did poorly at the box office and so a string of other Origins films were cancelled. The Wolverine I also found deathly dull, which is all the more bizarre when you see how amazing Logan is (both were directed by James Mangold)

Vwlss Nvwls

As I recall it, this was the first time that a comic book or super hero movie was treated more like a serious sci-fi instead of a kids/family movie. With the exception of the Keaton Batmans, but those were so dark they are kind of a thing of their own. But I think that Bryan Singers work is what started the trend of more serious takes in comic book movies for the future. Just my opinion.

gobmob2000

The fact that professor X only had biometric authentication as a security measure is really dumb of him. Particularly since he knows that Mystique exists. That is the reason why you should use 2fa, he should use the eye scan and a password to authenticate and the poison thing could never have happened.

Truth

release order is best.

REDR58

I like the first three X-Men movies, X2, X Men and 3/United in that order. I think 3 is better than anything that comes after until First Class. Since the MCU came along, I don't really have much interest in the Fox Universe movies or any real investment in the later X-men movies so they never got much of a rewatch from me, but now they are all connected one way or another so it's fine. Still prefer the MCU by far, even today with all of its "issues" (I'm still super into the MCU as a whole and mostly like the more recent stuff except Secret Invasion which, as far as I'm concerned is some of the worst TV I've seen in the last 5 years, only behind the first two seasons of "Picard"). I'm just not really interested in X-Men Characters other than Wolverine and Deadpool. Never saw Logan, will save it for a reaction here maybe. Anyway, seconded Superman (and Superman II) and Batman (and Batman Returns, as well).

G P

I hate that superhero movies have become so prolific. Batman was great because he's somewhat plausible of a character but the rest are complete drivel.

zak

Heads up, the quality of these films swings WILDLY, The Last Stand & Wolverine Origins are Cinecringe worthy, but Days of Future Past and Logan are genuinely amazing.

Vwlss Nvwls

I am really glad you are doing the X-Men universe. It is such a fascinating universe, and I love all the movies, even the "bad" ones. I have always loved that even the "villains" of the stories are not all bad, they just have the worst intentions of a reasonable ideal. I was so ecstatic for this movie, because Rogue, Gambit and Wolverine were always my favorites when watching the cartoons. So I got two of them in this movie. I would like Wolverines abilities, because I am too curious about what the future holds, and I want to see it all.

Khan1001

First Class was decent & Days of Future Past but the rest were pretty awful, I gave up on Apocalypse half way through & never bothered with Dark Phoenix but Logan was great, yes, wait for it here, they will get to it eventually. I don't think they have seen Superman 78?, I know they did Man of steel here, cant remember if they mentioned Christopher Reeve or the 78 film in the intro? I think Simone said she has seen Batman 89 & Returns when she was a kid but George hasn't so hopefully they will get around to it, either way both films are a must watch, they paved the way for all superhero films to come.

Patrick

George "Yay, father figure." By the end of the movie, Rogue definitely wants to call Wolverine, Daddy..

Mitchell Bowker

Definitely watch the rest in release order - except LOGAN, save that for last!

MD Simmons

Release order for sure

akaTheBARON Tokyo Drift

🖤I love it when two people working on a movie or TV show together results in irl BBF friendships. Jean-Luc Picard and Ian became such best friends after this. Seeing footage of them hanging out is amazing. Kind of like Zach Braff and Donald Faison from Scrubs. They played best friends but became real life best friends.

Chase Schleich

Yeah. I'd be down for watching them all. Some are great, some aren't, but even the lower tier ones have their upsides and they're a fun watch for a react channel.

Jonathan Guzman

I don't know if you're big gamers, but Screenplay was written by Solid Snake himself. David Hayter

Jacob King

A weird blast from a weird past

Jacob King

Really Wolverine’s defining characteristic is his care for the outsider children who don’t quite fit into Xavier’s school.

akaTheBARON Tokyo Drift

🖤I recommend release order. Xmen 3 The Last Stand, and the first Wolverine movie are sort of PU, but they're still a fun watch if you're going to work your way through. You two will definitely get in some good jokes. George will say "OKKKKKKKK" at least once during each of them LOL. IF you make it to the new class movies (they made 4), you can honestly just watch the first 3. the 4th (The Dark Phoenix movie George said he didn't see) is painfully bad. And not bad in a fun way like X3 and Wolverine origins.

FranciscoGios

RELEASE order!! All the way to 2020 New Mutants! it’s fun to know in comics they categorize Mutants to Class 1 thru 5, meaning in Class 5 this Mutants are Superior over the rest. Wolverine is a Class 3 as for Professor Xavier is Class 4. Also we will see the Yellow spandex in DeadPool 3 😎.

Middy

That's what everybody wants from a SUPERhero. Plausibility.

Alex Ch

Wow. Can’t believe George and Simone shared such salacious details of their sex lives in the intro.

Keen7981

George's opening comment on the April Fool's headline reminded me of a story my dad used to tell from when he was in law school. He took a class on contract law and one of the modules was almost exclusively about reading the entire contract before taking any action. The final exam for that class, the very last question said "If you want an A on this exam, do nothing but put your name on it and turn it in." Only two people got A's on that exam. My dad wasn't one of them.

REDR58

Anna Paquin was about 16 at the time this move was released.

BoredLittleLady

I love this movie! The X-Men are my favorite superheroes. I hope you guys continue with all the movies, even the "not so great ones" because they tell a great overall story.

Keen7981

I agree with most everyone on release order, but two notes about specific films: Logan (the film not the character) doesn't really have anything to do with X-Men: Origins or The Wolverine other than all those movies have Wolverine in them. When you get to X-Men: Days of Future Past, watch the Rogue Cut. Both versions were fine, but the Rogue Cut is a lot better than the theatrical release, imo.

John

I hope you enjoy the Francise, the X-men lore is quite amazing and one of the best to be presented on media (TV/movies). This was released during the civil rights era and unfortunately it still feels necessary now 60+ years later. I would recommend avoiding X-men Origin Wolverine, but the OG trilogy, the new series (First Class, Days of Future Past, Apol, and Phoenix) has some great movies and less stellar entries. The Wolverine and Logan are must watch. The relationship between Magneto and Professor X is tremendous and Magneto is how you make an interesting villain. If you every get a chance I would add the X-men cartoon to your list of tv shows it does a great job with some of the best canonical stories. As far as Wolverine worst injury, I think he was completely burned to his skeleton in a civil war spin off in a battle with nitro. I appreciate having a place to let my nerd flag fly.

REDR58

Release order is best. I don’t think it was so much that people were getting tired of superhero movies when “Apocalypse” and “Dark Phoenix” came out. They are just bad movies. In the MCU Wanda’s powers are partially enhanced/originated from the Mind Stone just like how Captain Marvel is powered by The Space Stone.

Chris Davies

I feel like they did a very good job representing professor x, magneto, wolverine and mystique, but a terrible job on every other mutant. You should add the x-men animated series from 1992 to a tv show poll in the future. I used to think immortality would be a good power, until I saw the Heroes tv show series, then I realized how bad it could be.

Jack Urmson

In the early 90s Marvel ran a story in Wolverine issue 75 where Magneto ripped Logan’s metal from his bones. It was pretty damn intense. For the rest of the series, all of them are fairly good. Standouts are X2:X-Men United, X-Men First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Logan.

Buhr

Materialization. The ability to create anything out of nothing, essentially. That or teleportation.

Michael Kemmet

It wasn't a joke reference, but it was Sabertooth. If you listen close or have subtitles on, you hear/read that the man in question was Sen. Kelly's aide, Henry Guyrich. Guyrich was the man in the helicopter that Mystique was impersonating, and Magneto later said had been dead for quite some time. Guyrich's body was only discovered after the Ellis Island events, and the strong inference is that Magneto had Sabertooth kill him before Mystique took his place.

Jacob King

I think Beast has the best combination of X-men powers. Enhanced strength and agility, opposable toes and super intelligence but also none of them enough so you’re anyone’s first call in an emergency. The franchise is fairly scattered, aside from Deadpool and Logan, First Class is the standout. There’s also a lot of retconning so none of them are completely necessary. If you ever wonder what is the point of Kevin Fiege… I mentioned it at Halloween time but Green Room (2015) has Patrick Stewart in villain mode and it would be an excellent counterpoint to his Professor X.

Chase Lonnergan

Living Portal Gun. With control over the size of the portals.

Elbinho

In their last scene, Logan has to take care of something up north, when Marie is really hoping for him to take care of something down south

dieselbeast

Cant wait for First Class, DOF and Apocalypse! And I say release order as well! 😁😁😁

REDR58

All of the X-Men movies are better than Dark Phoenix, and I continue to say Apocalypse.

REDR58

As I said elsewhere, the obvious punchline for that is “It croaks.” As written, it’s just weak sauce.

Joe

Hi guys. For full length videos, does the video of Simone & George go more and more out of sync with the audio the longer the videos play? It's been happening for the last few videos for me.

James Lawson

Didn't have an issue on this one. Have had the odd one where it did, can often be the provider or place hosting the video having a tiny tiny speed up. But don't think i had issues here.

Pasemi

About half of the movies in this series should be skipped entirely

Joe

It hasn't happened on other Youtube videos, only Cinebinge full length ones. The issue very temporarily fixes itself if I change video quality, but then the video quickly falls behind the audio again.

Eddy

Release order please.

Elder Lyons

that definitely sounds like a bandwidth/connection or browser issue on your end if you change quality and it fixes it then drifts. that sounds like your internet is slowing down and lagging.

I never knew you were a project manager! I was too!!!! They had to paint on Mystique's costume so the way she layed although sexy did not show any naughty bits. Thanks for pointing out Stan Lee i have watched this at least 20x and never noticed.

Joe

I checked and my internet is fine, and no other Youtube videos do this. It's weird.

Jayson Phillips

I would def. watch the prequels, skip Wolverine origins if you want even deadpool hated that movie!

JokerDanny

These movies will forever be tainted by being associated with the paedophile and sexual predator Bryan Singer, how is not in prison with Weinstein is a disgrace.

akaTheBARON Tokyo Drift

🖤Yeah, Apocalypse wasn't great. Still think it's worth a watch if you made it that far into the Xmen movies I think. Fun in it's own way. They could just stop after Days of Future Past if they make it that far if they really want to end it on a high note. DOFP would have been a great end to the "First Class" movies in general, but they just needed a third movie I guess LOL. Dark Phoenix tho... I just pretend that one didn't happen. Fox is definitely 0 for 2 in their attempts to adapt any Phoenix related story lines YIKES.

I hope we can get through these with the same frequency as y'all did with Mission impossible series and some other franchises lol I'd hate to think we'd have to wait a whole nother month to get X-2 lol

Diiirk706

Why is this a thing? They've already done DP and DP 2. They should be doing the 1997 Animation Series, since it's FINALLY getting a continuation this year.... And with DP 3 retconning and canonizing Mutants for the MCU, X-Men 97 is going to be the Gold Standard, again; for the MCU going forwards..........

Wes

Absolutely release order. X2 changed directors and is by far the worst movie in the series of the X-men movies, but X3 is much better. The rest have highs and lows but there's some really good stuff down the road.

Ginger

I'd suggest release order because they tend to retcon each other - it's best not to think about that too much and just enjoy every trilogy as its own thing.

Some of these movies (at least 4) are so bad that I genuinely can’t sit through them again, even for what I’m sure would be good reactions.

Korpse

Does this mean we are finally going to delve into the MCU? 🙌😳

TheSentry77

Man, it had been so long since I'd since the first movie, I thought it would've aged poorly. Not only did it hold up 23 years after, but it's just genuinely a really good film. Great cast, good story, amazing original score. So happy I got to watch it again with you guys! As far as which ones you should watch, even if they have their faults and can be disappointing in some regards, I'd rewatch the original trilogy, as well as the first 3 prequel movies. Origins: Wolverine and Dark Phoenix can be entirely skipped to be honest. The Wolverine may be worth a watch but isn't essential in any way, and without being necessarily bad, isn't mind blowing in any way.

LighthouseGuy

They have done videos on some mcu films already so I think they have probably already watched the older ones.

Korpse

I mean technically not until they watch Iron Man because the MCU wasn't even an idea until the success of Iron Man but not taking anything away from Raimi's Spiderman movies or Sonys X-Men but truth is John Favreau basically created the MCU with that movie. X-2 and nightcrawler will forever be a memorable experience but.... you know? 🤷‍♂️😆

Noe Ramirez

Can't wait for you guys to do Days of Future Past! And he's not in this movie but I always wanted to have Nightcrawlers powers!

Tanx

Magneto flying is part of how controls magnetic fields. believe it's usually explained that he can fly due to diamagnetism or by creating a bubble of magnetism around himself and just controlling that to go where he wants. Also he could technically fly or make himself float through applying force against or pulling himself towards metals around him or in the earth like mistborns can do with steel and a iron, push hard against something heavier than yourself and be forced in the other direction pull yourself towards something metal and heavy in the direction you want to go.

Sckmnky

I'll take a stab at the intro joke. Simone is dead inside and when she was still alive in another life or at another time she was allergic to cats which is ironic because now she's a cat mother.

You Canadians may already know all about this, but the fancy indoor walkway where Magneto and Professor Xavier first meet in this film was used later in the Expanse. It's in Toronto (Roy Thomson Hall). https://moviemaps.org/movies/1af (first group of pics)

I collect a low denomination bill from every time I visit a foreign country... with my first being a $5 Canadian bill from 1999. I have 3 different versions of the $5 Canadian bill from my many trips up north. X-Men First Class is excellent and so is X-Men Days of Future Past, but yeah Age of Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix weren't good. You should also check out the X-Men 97 cartoon. I would recommend watching the original series, but you can jump into this new one. High level telekinesis is the best power. You can manipulate objects, you can create force fields, and fly.

Re. what powers you'd wish for: When we played superheroes when I was little I could never settle for one, I'd switch my character every ten seconds and we'd end up with rules about how many heroes you could be in one game. Then after a few years of reading comics it dawned on me Rogue had literally everything; the flying brick-package of powers permanently stolen from Carol Danvers making her one of the strongest Earth-based characters in the Marvel verse to start with, plus anything her friends might lend her, plus the ability to neutralize and turn any enemy's power against them, plus the telepathy-like ability to steal their memories, on top of the beautifully tragic curse of isolation and inner conflicts and stuff. Come to think, boy did they scale her down for this movie. Nowadays, I'm fond of gravity powers. With enough gravity under your control you could bend light and time. You could probably bother Superman by rapidly aging, like, one of his ears. I want to explore the center of the Milky Way galaxy some day, think of a power that might let somebody do that while also affording a lot of general utility. . .
