Tomas Gaspar

One of my favorites...mainly because my nickname in school for a long time was Tommieboy for a long time. 😁

Ricardo Alanis

That has to be my favorite youtube cover image

michael clarke

i really thought this was going to be never ending story :( glad you saw tommy boy. i heard spade say in an interview once say that they used to do the housekeeping thing to each other on the road as comedians.

Jeff K

“Is he like the black sheep of the family?” Funny enough, the next movie Farley and Spade did together was called Black Sheep.

Chris Bruneau

"A lot of people go to college for 7 years--yeah, they're called doctors!!" LOLOLOL

theedgeinshow

I have to be honest....I'm not sure if Buckaroo Banzai used Callahan Auto parts on his inter-dimensional jet car. But he probably did.

Wrencher86

Between the two, I give slight preference to Black Sheep. That concert scene kills me every single time.

Katzchen1984

It's such a shame about Chris Farley passing away. The man was legit one of the funniest people alive and he would of done so much more :(

Wrencher86

29:00 That anecdote is directly from Spade, so that's how they know the all the details. Farley was beloved as a comedian but... substance abuse issues frequently go hand-in-hand with volatile personalities. Farley was no exception.

Henry Sanchez

This not being There Will Be Blood made me sad. But I voted for this last poll. I still haven’t seen Mars Attacks. Hopefully There Will Be Blood is next week ❤️

This is one of those movies that got pretty savaged by critics when it was released, but everybody else said "I don't care if it's 'good', I care if it's FUN". So here we are. I got a good chuckle over you wondering if he was the 'black sheep' of the family, because there actually is a "Black Sheep" film where Chris Farley plays -- you guessed it -- the black sheep of a family.

Zach D

Black Sheep next!! Farley and Spade are in both and they’re the two most common movies brought up when talking about Farley!

E. D.

lmao one of the best thumbnails so far, George is really good at it. I wonder if he learned it for Cinebinge or much earlier.

E. D.

"I don't care if it's 'good', is for me The American Ninja movies; bad screenplays, not good acting, dialogues and fighting scenes but still kinda entertaining and fun and they were a part of my childhood, AND Dudikoff looked cool in the ninja suit.

Jeff K

Also: we all knew, with absolute certainty, that Simone would latch onto "Fat Guy in a Little Coat" and never want to let it go.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Dudes that thumbnail immediately cracked me up. Can already picture the Black Sheep poster getting similar treatment

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Yeah Farley was maligned critically back in the 90s very unfairly for sure. It’s a shame because I remember how well he was loved by audiences across the planet back then, big time

L77045

Makes me so happy to see this on here.

Ronnie

Farley and Spade had a second film together following this one called Black Sheep. It’s funny, but isn’t as sharp or heartfelt as Tommy Boy.

Monica Alarcon

George as Chris Farley with that haircut cracks me up! XD

Adam Wetstein

That is Hart House at U of Toronto in the opening sequence

Wrencher86

Oh, if you like Spade and his deadpan delivery, the Disney movie "The Emperor's New Groove" has him as a main character and is 100% worth your time (it's honestly better/funnier than this movie). It's the last of the Disney 2D animated films and has Looney Tunes style of humor/comedic timing. Only one song in it, too, George. So editing should be simpler.

Trivia / Explanations: 3:01 The Founding Father is John Hancock. Herbie Hancock was a famous jazz musician. 4:56 George eventually figured it out; a certain Vietnam vet would beg to differ as to how adorable that fellow is. 6:22 Bo Derek was a "sex symbol." This is very much a callback to her iconic scenes. 7:30 Reference to the video for Maniac from the movie Flashdance. (Sorta.)

5:25 Chris, your friend Norm Macdonald had something to say about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KQDIkD_BFQ 7:07 "Can't do it?" Look at George impersonating Mr Pink! 14:49 "Look at this hair!" Yep, that's Wayne Newton all right. And we love him! 18:30 I am reminded of The Fifth Element. 19:04 There shall be no war; anyone who dares disagree with George's One True Opinion should be banned forthwith! 23:33 [EDIT: I typed out a seven paragraph answer to George's question but I suddenly realized that this just might be Too Much Information.]

If you want to see some classic Chris Farley skits from Saturday Night Live: Matt Foley: Van Down By The River (also with David Spade) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv2VIEY9-A8 The Herlihy Boy House-Sitting Service, with Adam Sandler https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXyW5w5RRFY Chippendales Audition, with Patrick Swayze https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi0l-vfG_d4 [SNL hasn't put this up yet. George, you're a man after my own heart. Someone evidently tried to blackmail you with that picture in the thumbnail, and instead of giving in, you decided to disarm them by publishing it yourself. My man!

Trevor Rotan

That story about the fight happened, and Spade has told that story on different talk shows. Also, the movie was supposed to be Farley and Lowe as a brother comedy with Spade as a smaller character, but when the producers saw the chemistry between Spade and Chris they re-wrote the script for them to be the lead duo.

AJ Lynch

you should call the trivia part Cinfo

Regarding your discussion, I agree with you somewhat about people having favorites and that's why they say "they don't make them like they used to"... BUT in todays society especially regarding humor and some people being ultra sensitive, they don't make comedies like they used to back in the 80's, 90's and even early 2000's... So in this regard the statement "they don't make them like they used to" is very true. I feel the same thing with rom-coms, during the 80's, 90's and early 2000's had great rom-coms, but then in the late 2010's with the whole Feminism movement, somehow extreme feminism thought that rom-coms showed women in a bad light, as in being weak because they want to be in love. So yeah today, I would say the statement that things are not what they used to be, is very true. Also Bo Derrek coming out of the pool and tommy saying she was a "10", it was referring to her movie "10" that she did a long time ago.
