Dave just dropped a whole bunch of banger reactions, cheers mate Saturday morning for me 🎉

Honestly I think Si euns relationship with his mom is really complicated, I understand her to an extent but then again she wants to protect him but have him move away from his only friends despite how depressed and miserable he was before. I think it’s her own guilt and not really about her wanting to protect him.

Thank you so much for this. Just in time to keep myself distracted from all the things I lost due to typhoon Fung-Wong. Gonna watch this again when the WiFi comes back🫶🫶🫶

What triggers me with Si Euns mom is, she's saying that she noticed he's been coming home with bruises on his face, and that she knows he's been skipping going to cram school, and her first question/reaction is "what are you doing in and out of school?", it's not a caring question like "are you okay? What happened to you?". To me, it just seems like she's more concerned about him missing school, and not that he's getting hurt. It's instant blame for missing classes and assuming he's doing bad things and hanging out with the wrong crowd, no concern if he's might being bullied or even if it's his fault. I know that Si Eun is not good at opening up, but it feels like she's not even trying to communicate with him.

We saw his parents in a flashback in S1 that they fought about having to raise a kid together that always gets hurt, which he heard and then he closed them off ever since he was a little child. Now she thinks everything that happened with him in season one is her fault for never being there for him which is probably why she brought him from his dad's to live with her now and is at least trying the best way she knows how which may be not enough in many ppl's eyes. I'd say Si-eun's parents are not super terrible parents but they certainly are not good ones as we all know that. Also, it seems like you may have missed some previous comments but regarding the tattooed-hand that you keep waiting to see- it's Baek-jin, guys lol. The post credit at the end of season one showed the tattooed hand as a teaser for Baek-jin who originally has a lot of tattoos in the webtoon, but after Netflix bought the show after season one the producers made some changes. TATTOOED-HAND = BAEK JIN lmao

Oh my gosh, 100%! I just had to jump in and say how glad I am that you mentioned that! It’s obvious that his parents don’t really have a strong emotional connection with him, which clearly reflects in Si-eun’s more reserved personality as well. They’re not winning any awards for parenting, that’s for sure, BUT they’re definitely not the worst either!! And yes, the tattoo guy is Baek-jin! Netflix did tweak some things from the Webtoon. I remember you mentioning that before! 🥰❤

Mason Quinn , you guys missed the previous comments from the last reaction that said the tattooed guy at the end of season 1 was actually Baek-jin (: he originally has a lot of tattoos in the Webtoon but the producers decided not to go that route, after Netflix bought the show.

It also mirrors BaekJins talk with SeongJae where he told him “you haven’t once asked me if I’m okay” This is why I agree with Mason, I’m glad the rest of the guys want to be more optimistic about the mom but the moms first reaction to seeing him hurt should be to ask if he’s okay not to just panic and immediately send him away. Could be a writing issue, but they should’ve shown the mom caring FIRST, or at least trying, before having her resort to sending Sieun away. So I agree with everything Mason said 🍻

Lauren

Yeah, I agree with MQ. The parents are clearly absentee parents, and to ship Si-eun away again when he’s already so isolated and introverted rather than being there for him is the wrong idea.

Andes Eka

I think you guys are one among a few reactors that realized the opening song actually different from episode 5 onwards :)

Ayojii

My interpretation of the mother is that she wasn't with them in season 1 because she didn't want to shift her life around to be a mother. Then, in season 2, I felt that she cared but also wanted to get Si-eun out of the way so she could go back to her regular life.

M Star

I assumed he was always bullied, even before season one just because the parents were fighting about him always getting hurt. They were definitely absent- that’s why Sieun is the way he is. He has said a few times “since when did you care” to both of them

Tania R

That was AMAZING! ♥️😭♥️ It would be such a great way to wrap up the series! I'm really hoping they’ll react to it! ♥️💚💙🩷 Don't forget to share this again when they post the final episode! I've saved the link, and I'll share it in the chat for you when they drop episode 8. 💗

exactly this!! both parents never sat down and asked him if he was okay and make him feel comfortable to be able to open up and tell them what is going on with him
