For Diamond Dave asking about the drugs, yes there are atleast over a dozen different types of drugs and chems you can consume that all give different bonus's and drawbacks. If you consume too much, your character becomes addicted and you experience different withdrawal sypmtoms that hinder your performance. You can lean your way off in several different ways like the ghoul says. Its alot of fun to mess around with. There is even an ability you can select for your character that makes your character immune to drugs,so you can enjoy all the benefits without any of the drawbacks

This was easily my favorite episode of the season so far. It felt more focused and pushed things forward. I’ve enjoyed the whole season, but the first three episodes felt a little meandering.

Yes, you guys are spot on, the Deathclaw is a human made experiment.

I dont think this will be a spoiler since they showed them in the episode and you guys pretty much called it out right away. Also it isnt vital or important to any main story or anything like that, its just a side thing. But if you plan on playing the game dont read ahead *MINOR SPOILER WARNING* But in regards to the ghouls Lucy kills outside the vegas strip, those were members of a group called "The Kings". You can see the word Kings on one of their jackets. Pretty much like you guys said, theyre a group of people that lived in Freeside whose leader idolized Elvis Presley. Pretty much a fanclub for Elvis lmao. People found a building which contained alot of old audio recordings of Elvis,as well as pictures of him, matching leather kings jackets, and a lifetime supply of hairgel lol. They saw Elvis as a kind of God from the ancient world, and so they worship him in a way. They believe in indepence, and basic freedom for all. So they are/were a friendly group of people, but definitely dangerous and willing to fight. Theyre just a small gang in the game, just kind of doing their own thing. It is absolutely hilarious interacting with them and doing missions for them. Also, the one Lucy kills at the end with the slow motion part mightve been their leader actually. I hope it wasnt though lol But the leader wears pretty much that same exact outfit and plays the guitar in the game. So they may be implying that their gang is wiped out. Which would make sense i guess considering how in the show vegas seems to be abandoned and overrun with deathclaws. Which obviously isnt how it is in game. Vegas is filled with tons of people and factions in the game.

Yea,i didnt want to confirm that for them since they were speculating, but its not hard to figure out. The US wanted super soldiers pretty much, and did experiments. They were a result of that, and ended up flourishing in the apocolypse. They are the apex predator of the wasteland

In 1x1,if you remember the scene where Chet closes the door on the raider trying to kill him,and he explodes. Well, right before that the raider inhales a substance..and he was using a drug called "Jet". Which pretty much gives you a major adrenaline rush. And the drug "Buffout" that lucy recieves from the ghoul in this episode,in the game it increase your health, your carrying capacity (so if you can carry 50 pounds of gear, this would take that up to something like 60 pounds),and as well as your endurance. So i think they were playing at the fact that lucy was carrying all those guns,so the drug was helping her feel stronger and able to withstand more lol i thought it was brilliant to throw that in there. I really enjoyed this episode and your guys discussion was great

As you guys pretty much summed up, the Deathclaw was a US government genetic engineering experiment pre apocalypse.

I really loved the exchange between Max and Quintus. It really showed Max's whole journey so far and displayed who he is. Hes just a dude whos always believed in the right thing and wanted to do good in the world..but has just never had the proper role models and leadership to steer him in the right direction. He has been surrounded by terrible people who want nothing but to use and manipulate him for their own selfish reasons. So as a result, hes always confused and struggling with what to do and how to do it. Like he said,"i dont CHOOSE to do these things, they just keep happening to me." as well as "i dont have a plan". Those words speak volumes to who he is. He wants to make the right choices, but is constantly forced into dire situations and has to make split second decisons that have everlasting results. His character is fascinating to me and ive never understood alot of the hate towards him ive seen from alot of other creators and the audiene in general. Max isnt that smart of a person, hes pretty slow to pick things up and makes mistakes, but can you blame him when hes been living with the brotherhood since he was a young child? So he might not be that smart, but he is extremely capable, brave and willing to put his ass on the line for the right thing.Im really curious where they take his character going forward because i honestly thought in season 2 we were going to see the beginning of a true villian arc for him where he becomes extremely cold and filled with anger. But it seems to be the other way around. Season 2 has been incredible so far!

So the Canadian annexation thing is part of the game lore; basically, trying to do the long story short thing here, China started its invasion of Alaska so the US established a big military presence in Canada to defend Alaska and using up its resources, the Canadians were obviously unhappy and sabotaged an oil pipeline, so the US just took the country as a territory in response. The Sino-American War between China and the US lasted from 2066-2077.
