Omg ok. This is extremely difficult. I will be voting JJK, despite Vinland Saga being my number 2 anime of all time. HOWEVER all of them are top tier. Vinland Saga is real world, vikings, very emotional and difficult topics. MHA is amazing. Never cried at a show more, happy and sad, the score, the cast, everything is perfect. JJK is one of my favourites because I love so many characters and the power system. Solo Levelling I enjoy the score and action. Not much plot but its great for action. JJK will definitely winning the poll but I am glad to see some great contenders for the next show afterwards, especially Vinland and MHA.

Of course it will be JJK since the current season just ended and it was really good… but it’s annoying for the guys to watch an anime if they then have to wait years for the next season. They watch too many other things in the meantime anyway, and by the time the next season comes out, they’ll have forgotten everything 😅

JJK is good (overall), but I would strongly reconsider the sub choice if it's going to be the next anime. The translation for subs is not great. Of course, nothing is going to be 1-1 when coming from Japanese. But the way it is written does not lend itself to an easy watch in subtitles. Especially the newest season. It's VERY wordy and direct translation does not flow well. It's also very action heavy during said dialogue. Dub is the better choice. The English translators and VA were able to make it more watchable in my opinion. The humor also works better in the dub. I know the group want to make it fair with the dub/sub ratio. But this is something to possibly hold off on watching if you must watch the next one in sub. Ultimately, I would at least try both languages out and see which one will work better. JJK is an uneven show; but undoubtedly a fun one. For what it's worth, I vote for MHA because of the aforementioned reasons. MHA is a good show and probably better written, overall.

JJK is an all-timer right now if you ask me. I think the story for MHA is sliiiiightly better, but the actual production of JJK is unlike anything I've ever seen before in an anime show, except maybe Chainsaw Man. From season 2 forward, it's masterfully directed, the most effort I've ever seen put into making an anime just so interesting to watch. I'm tempted to say JJK is the best looking anime I've ever seen. Movie level quality. Stellar pacing, too. MHA is very good story wise but has a lot of downtime if that bothers you, it helps to get to know the characters (there are a LOT of characters) but plenty of people have complained it hurts the pacing. Vinland Saga is probably the best here story-wise but IMO leaves the most to be desired in every other aspect, at least compared to MHA and JJK. Solo leveling is hot trash, it's a good show in the same way that doomscrolling is fun: it might trigger your dopamine but you really shouldn't be enjoying it.

no shade to anyone but jjk as the next choice for the anime slot is a crazy pick. jjk not only is not complete yet as an anime, but i would not recommend it for someone still new to anime. i been watching anime and reading manga for nearly my entire life and i have to say it is SO easy to get lost with that series, especially if they watch the sub. not to mention MHA feels like something right up their alley and has been completed (with the “more” ep coming this may). either way all the choices up for vote are great series but idk how they’re gonna keep up with jjk sub being so new to anime still 😅

Didn't they say the next anime will be sub only? I think for this group sub would be a bad idea for JJK considering how information heavy it is. And the beautiful animation. They can't pause mid watch to read and process the subtitles. I think this one is a bad choice for sub only for them. I don't know if they will be able to enjoy it to the fullest.

JJK is no HxH or Attack on Titan, but it does have a lot to offer and actual themes if you pay attention and think critically about it. I'm assuming one of the main predecessors you are talking about is Naruto, since JJK wears the Naruto inspiration on its sleeve, but if we're being honest, Naruto is a writing nightmare, and JJK is doing a similar concept much more tightly while also inverting much of Naruto's messaging. i.e Naruto being about changing the world, while JJK is about allowing the world to change you.

i genuinely in my heart believe they would fall in LOVE with either MHA or vinland saga, it feels very much like their kinda shows. the soundtracks, the characters, the action, the writing and themes. i love jjk too but i fear the guys are gonna be absolutely lost trying to watch that show, especially in sub.

As a big anime watcher, Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t necessarily insanely hard to understand through only watching the anime, but it takes a lot of careful reading, and remembering certain things about it’s power system (this mainly applies to season 3 and a little bit of season 2). as much as i don’t like JJK’s dub, if you can’t read subtitles quickly, you need the dub to get information while looking at the insane animation. My Hero Academia is definitely better for first time anime watchers, it has a lot of great key moments and themes, and the concept of superheroes is familiar to everybody. It’s an amazing series, it gets a little rocky in season 5 with the pacing and things like that, but overall it’s a blast.

Well, Seasons 4 and 5 aren’t really the best, but everything that comes after—and especially the final season—more than makes up for it. What the last season delivered was just incredible.

I'm sure the sub v dub comments are throwing the crew for a loop now. But JJK dub is highly recommended. Think of the info dumps in the 2 dub episodes of AoT. Each JJK episode has the same if not more info about the world and its characters as the AoT dub episodes. Not many people would mind if JJK was dub and the next anime which will be MHA Vinland or Solo can be sub. Can't wait for the reaction✌

Hunter x Hunter is easily one of my fav as well but the other shows on the poll have more buzz due to recency bias. Don't forget that they have a channel that they want to continue growing so I'm sure they picked those for reasons. I will say that if they continue watching anime that Hunter x Hunter is REQUIRED VIEWING in the future. It's influenced soooo many modern series.

Oh I like its premise and its ambition and it’s brazen attitude that it wears on its sleeve but, it continuously fails to keep my engaged because of it’s shallow characters, convoluted writing, poor cadence - the damn show can’t glue together a string of well crafted scenes that are not action related.

They’d have to watch Dragon Ball first— so many people skip the original anime and think they really know the character and story and don’t. Also even though I have nostalgia for Z (and grew up with Z) they should watch DBZ Kai because it is way more close to the manga. really it would be better if they watch Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z in sub and it won’t be a problem at all with the bad orginal dub translations , I’m having to have music in things that are very serious.

I think out of all of these options, Vinland Saga is the one you guys would enjoy the most, so that's what i voted for. I think it has the best story and is deeply philosophical. But JJK is looking really popular right now, so if it wins at least I'll get to finally watch it alongside you guys 😅 Also, the MHA anime is the only one that is fully complete, which might be something else to consider.

I feel the same way as you, but I want them to at least watch the best possible anime beforehand—or at least the ones they might personally enjoy the most—because, well, it’s three, maybe four guys in their mid-age, I’d say, young to middle-aged. And with that, things can always happen, health-wise and so on. So, we don’t have unlimited time. We need to get everything out as quickly as possible 😅

Vinland Saga is more of your guys cup of tea. JJK is the popular one who would get you most views. and MHA is the one somewhere in the middle of that for both. Either way btw, the dub for MHA and JJK are considered amazing, so you won't need sub despite what some may say. Solo Leveling and Vinland I don't know how their dubs are.

I get everyone has their own opinions, but the MHA dub is considered by most to be amazing. Like Death Note. Tbh, I wouldn't watch any sub anime because I like to multi task while watching reactions and can't stay glued to the screen reading. So I hope they do all dub everything lol. But I know I'm not the center of the universe. BridgeCO does their reactions in whatever but then do both versions and puts a sub and a dub version of the reaction so that we can experience it whichever way and they can watch whichever way, must be a lot of work but love them for that!

They have an option to do sync reactions. So you can watch them on your phone while watching the actual movie/episode on something else. It's good when you want their reaction but also want to watch the movie on a bigger screen. But because of that they can't just pause and unpause whenever they want. It will mess up the sync and if done too many times the sync basically becomes pointless as it's hard to pause, unpause, and resynch so many times.

JJK is a LOT worse in sub. Some episodes are just plain confusing. No bueno. AoT isn't comparable. There were only a few episodes in the entire show that required pausing and careful rewinding.

Nah I wouldn’t say that. Over half of Naruto is filler anyway. There’s like 720 episodes but only around 430 are actually canon, and they’re only about 20 minutes each. Plus this isn’t some random niche anime, it’s one of the main shows that got a lot of people in the U.S. into anime. It’s not really some ‘diehard anime channel only’ type thing. If they just did 2–3 episodes a video and skipped filler, it’s honestly very doable and I think they’d enjoy it.

Solo leveling would make the most sense. So far it’s only 25 eps. It wouldn’t take too long to finish. The Korean live action series is coming out soon (I think this year). Personally, I’m waiting on them to react to Yu Yu Hakusho if we are talking about a good multi season anime.

They didn't seem to care much whether the next anime will be very information bombing or not when they promised to do it in sub instead of choosing sub and dub according to each anime's triats. They should have done sub for DS considering how minor the information dumping is compared to other animes and the whole Japanese culture brung heavily engraved in to the whole series. I’m gonna say something most people won’t agree with. Most if not all these anime are better in dub. Especially My Hero, and Solo Leveling. JJK sub however I agree with other people has a lot of information and is a lot to read and digest. I really wish people wouldn’t bully and push their own sub preferences on reactors. Most reactors are forced to watch sub just because of how toxic people get. In my opinion from what I’ve noticed you guys seem to prefer watching dub and that’s okay. I think there’s nothing wrong with watching an anime in what you prefer. All these anime are good in dub and anime as a whole is easier to watch in dub.

Some of the times they will do a "narrator voice over" to explain certain powers or abilities and it can be hard to keep up while reading in sub but will be much easier to understand in dub. I would love for MHA to be next, however, the dub for MHA is pretty good, so even if it’s not the next one, I’ll be really happy with either sub or dub. However, I agree with other commenters who are expressing concern about watching JJK subbed; it definitely runs more of a risk of missing important info watching subbed vs dubbed compared to, say, MHA. On the other hand, watching subbed is kinda like exercising a muscle and (in my experience) gets easier the more you do it, and since y’all are far more free from distractions than most people usually are when watching shows, I say go for it!

Alternating Dub/Sub doesn't make any sense... I hope they stick to what they prefer to watch in. I remember them saying a few times that dub makes it easier to react (or at least that was what was implied a few times). Sub forces a 100% attention when watching when watching their videos which isn't always an option...and just watching people read and try and comprehend what's going on while trying to take in all the visuals, imo, doesn't make for the most engaging reactions. It's one thing when you're just watching at home for your own enjoyment but reaction videos, again imo, it just falls flat.

I used to really like it then i rewatched as an adult and realized how little i cared about the characters and the plot (and sometimes the power system threw me for a loop) But considering how much they like kny (which is another anime i consider SUPER mid) they might actually enjoy jjk quite a bit. I get the market dynamics of reacting to all the big shit, kinda difficult to fault anyone for that - but it definitely can be helped if we just put out some decent polls. Honestly, the ones on here, like so many out there, tend to not be amazing. It's always something like vs. Love Exposure or Diving Bell and the Butterfly - fantastic movies that will never in a thousand years gain enough traction to compete against even pretty mediocre television half the planet just so happened to grow up with. I bet if we did true underdog polls alternating with the big ones, their channel would be none the worse off for it. By all means, have people watch Gaspar Noé for a change, or maybe just try and saturate the YouTube niche with movies somehow nobody has reacted to, like Cloud Atlas. Meh, it is what it is.

Never mind that this here anime doesn't have anything special that would detract from it, you know; there are no subtle facial expressions you'll miss because you happened to be reading (gratuitously verbose and long) the subtitles repeating exposition. There is anime that is witty and speedy enough to make the dub worth a consideration, but when they are, chances are the dub script with its much tighter restrictions (in Jap-Eng in particular) is going to suffer so much more for it. Either way you sacrifice the most with the dub; that's just how it is, and all language pairs only have rare exceptions, short of the few micro-cultures that didn't bungle the localization game, somehow. Mid subs >> mid dubs, and boy is the JJK dub mid - why anyone would advocate for that is slightly beyond me. I mean, I get the notion of being visually impaired, but that's why you can just pop in your own preferred version for yourself.

The dialogue from JJK doesn't make sense half the time in sub. It doesn't translate well to English when you try to directly convert it (which is what sub translations do).

I don't see how their point doesn't. You have to take attention away from the animation to read subtitles. Regardless of how fast you read, your eyes cannot focus on two places at once. So it does take away from the attention to the action scenes in particular. Some people are better/faster at this than others. But it's an unavoidable reality.

I was really hoping for Demon Slayer to be sub after they just did two anime back to back for dub but it is what it is, so I would like it if they also do back to back subs this time around to make things fair. I know they would enjoy Vinland saga so much, and Oak would get to see so many heavy lessons. However I went ahead with JJK only because of my personal bias and the fact that it also has some deep moments about self character and emotional trauma. I have no doubt they will enjoy all of these, but I do kinda wish they could do JJK in sub for the amazing voice acting with the easy comprehension of dub

Yeah, most anime are definitely not kid-appropriate. It's not like a Disney movie. Demon Slayer, for instance, is full of blood and gore and rated 16+/TV-14 depending on the region. They're literal demon slayers. Most anime are rated TV-14, and some, like JJK and Vinland Saga, are rated TV-MA.

Original voice actors know how to act. A lot of the dub anime lack in the acting and interpretation of the act part... :) Take One Piece Live action... if dub took a similar approach to how they act then it would be 10x better.

For the deep of my heart i recommendly to you guys to watch Jujutsu Kaisen DUB... the early Seasons are not a problem... but as the show goes is just lore dump in mid of the fights and flashy scenes, DUB will be a more meaningful watch for the sake of reaction content

I only watch SUB because DUBS can remove the heart and culture from the IP. However, the JJK sub gets tricky, and I feel there is a chance Oak especially will get lost. The SUB VA's are spectacular, but you may be trading understanding for vibes.

I agree 😭 The only reason why they're doing this stupid switch is because everyone threw a big fit when they announced Demon Slayer was gonna be in dub. Also I love the guys very much, but their attention span isn't exactly the best... Literally in the latest Demon Slayer episode they didn't realize the character was Tengen until someone explicitly mentioned it was him. 💀 I don't think sub is going to go well at all and will end up having people just yell at them more in the comments.

I love My Hero. I had a wallet with Froppy on it for the longest time. That being said, the amount of repeated flashbacks they have in that show is insane. Asking them to watch “Young man, you too can become a hero…” 200 times is asking a lot.

Many have already commented on this, but you must watch JJK in dub when you get to it, I assume, after Demon Slayer. It is a great anime you'll enjoy, but there is a lot of information that will be much easier to digest in English. Also, the dub voices are genuinely good.
