So Francesca isn’t new, she is the 6th Bridgerton sibling, formerly played by actress Ruby Stokes in Seasons 1 and 2 but was recast due to scheduling conflicts. They often said she was away studying in Bath if she was missing from a big scene. As for her suitor, he was being forward by regency standards, pressing her for a more impassioned response but Francesca is quite demure and she likely knew what he was trying to do so she really didn’t appreciate it. Two-door (Jonathan Bailey) was incredibly busy during season 3 as he was also filming Wicked and another show called Fellow Travellers. Love Polin in this episode but Pen has indeed taken Colin off his pedestal following season 2. Also my BMxBridgerton Bingo Card is already halfway completed 😆

That’s what we call a Bridgerton glow-up! 😂 After Season 2 with Anthony , it basically became a fandom joke that whichever Bridgerton sibling becomes the lead gets an automatic glow-up for their season. ✨

Guys there are eight Bridgerton siblings in total: Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and lastly Hyacinth (oldest-youngest). Francesca has been around since season 1, just didn't have much screen time.

I adore this season. It got a lot of hate from viewers and critics alike due to the multiple story lines being added. I, however, found them very entertaining and brought so much to the story. I am so glad to see you three also getting hooked on the side characters' stories. Also, Please try to stay away from looking up too much facts on Francesca as there will be a lot of spoilers due to season 4 just airing a few months ago. I totally agree that Colin is conflicted and unsure of his feelings. Luke Newton (Colin) absolutely killed the final scene in ep. 2 and brings a lot of acting chops as the season progresses. Each Bridgerton book/season normally follows a classic trope. Season three follows the 'friends to lovers' trope (S1 was fake relationship and S2 was enemies to lovers) It was so nice to get to know you a little better Diamond Dave! We love getting to know all of you through the reactions. P.S. We don't watch the reactions for the shows we love, We watch the reactions with the people we like and see how they react to the same shows.

But of course Colin facial expressions shows maybe he feels something for her. I love this season so much just because we saw feelings were always there from season 1.

It always surprises me that no one, even within the Bridgerton and Featherington families, comments on how Colin and Penelope are so often together (in all seasons of the show so far). From all the rules and instances of other opposite sex pairings alone together for even a minute, it seems it would be called out for being inappropriate or something more. Long before he started helping her court.

First of all, 100% agree on getting Quinn that Colin Coat to possibly wear with that fancy frilly shirt of his hehe ;) & nice to get to know ya abit better DD hearing your personal story :) & noooo please don't tuck your neckchiefs in DD/Oak as we LOVE how the outfits look & so happy to see all 3 you rocking the outfits looking very dashing!. 😊 Seems Colin's makeover has caught the attention of all the Ladies of the Ton, as much as his an intelligent person, he seems pretty dense about the affections from Penelope, enjoyed their interactions with each other & that kiss hopefully awoke butterflies within him. Same can be said about Eloise, who was a favourable character of mine in earlier seasons, but definitely not liking this side of her this season, she too is intelligent, but seems to have forgotten how ruthless Cressida can be, so it was surprising she confided in her about Colin's secret. Loved Quinn's reaction to "Afternoon Tipple" line calling it "Drinky Poos" & DD's "Rake of The Season" line hehe, also loved all 3 of your reactions to how we Brits says "Zebra" & to Lady Featherington's scenes with her Daughters about an Heir was certainly a hilarious highlight & glad Quinn was able to make the Season 3 of Bridgerton after that bout of "Tetanus" in Queen Charlotte reactions hehe. (if ya know ya know 😂)

I related so much to Penelope’s line at the end of episode 2 referring to herself: “a sad, stupid girl who believed she might possibly have a chance of love”. Being unattractive and overweight, I’m used to feeling invisible and lonely. Ironically enough I paid one of my guy friends to give me my first kiss at 17 because I knew it wouldn’t happen otherwise. This season is off to a banger of a start. 🐝

Having read the books as they were being published, I have complicated feelings about this season. What I do love, though, is that they really upped their game for the S3 costume design. It makes me want to go frame by frame to study each costume and character, the fabrics, textures, and colors, and how they fit into the vision for this season overall. I loved that DD opened up a little about his past. He and MQ do a remarkable job of keeping their private lives private, but it’s always nice to understand how a person grew into who they are now. We’ve all (SOME) been there! 😅 While I may not be super excited about S3, I do love how excited the guys get about this show and how they’re ready to throw down for their favorites. I can’t wait to see their reactions over the next few weeks! Oh, and also, I see you, DD, snickering at the “ball” conversation. I can never tell if MQ is oblivious during those moments, or if he’s just going for the misdirection. I suspect it’s the latter, and for that reason, I say again—I would never play poker with him!

So about Francesca and the whole music thing: DD was in the right direction. She simply really likes the technical aspect of music. She’s not really interested in bigger meanings and she’s also just not passionate about love and romance. She tells her mother earlier in the episode that she’s not sure she really needs to feel “butterflies” or a “spark”. She does really want to get married, but this is just to get her independence and freedom. She likes the peace and quiet a marriage can offer her, but not very passionate about the marriage partner specifically. They illustrate this when she’s talking to the other young ladies and they’re all proclaiming all the traits and qualities they seek in men, whereas she can only come up with “someone kind, i suppose”. She doesn’t give it much thought bc it’s just not her priority, she’s more so interested in her music and freedom. I don’t want to give anything else away, but these are the insights you get from the first two episodes, so that’s some important context to keep in mind with future episodes!

Same, I checked out as soon as they gave Colin his "rake" scene 😭😂 I've liked it a little more every rewatch, but I can never forget all the problems I had when it initially came out

There was also some bs commentary/backlash about Nicola Coughlin’s (Penelope’s) body. Some rude, mean, frizzy English writer did a whole think piece, basically about how it was “unbelievable” that she could be loved/seen as attractive. If I ever see that Trish Sackett (points if you get the reference) wannabe….its on SIGHT.

“We kiss, and then he makes an odd sound, and he has to change his breeches” is honestly one of the funniest moments in the whole show in my opinion 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it too! I didn’t consider that kiss a proper first kiss, because Penelope basically begged Colin for it. So it wasn’t really romantic 🙈 But it definitely could be a wake-up call for Colin and make him reconsider his feelings for his longtime friend! I love how DD finally shared some of his personal experience related to the series! It was great to hear his story. And his “Don’t worry. I fucked that up too” at 1:03:55 made me laugh hard hahhaa P.S. Finally we saw a situation on screen where Oak couldn’t say “we’ve all been there,” because he doesn’t have experience kissing his female friend 😂😂😂

Francesca is more in her head than in her heart most of the time. She's intellectual and a thinking sort vs. feeling, and that guy was trying to flirt with her. She's not good at flirting. And I love the Mondriches. Some of the book lovers don't because they don't exist in the book universe, but I think they're a great addition to the show. It's a great way to show the machinations of the ton from a different perspective. And "Inserts himself, where?" lives rent free in my head. One of the best line reads in the whole show.

Finally catching up with your uncut reactions and how refreshing to have reactors understand Pen's mindset going into that kiss and also Colin's perspective on it too. You guys are always great at understanding the emotions in this series and that end of ep 2 is so perfect for Pen and Colin - it's a goodbye for her and a wake-up for him for the person who has always been just Pen without him understanding that his feelings for her have been more than he had previously understood. These first two eps are a great start to a new season.
