Moon Joy

Lol I've been coming back ever few hours to see if they uploaded I sooo neeed to see Oaks reaction to this.

Tyah Reacts

As if the Magnus and Bruce stuff wasn't already traumatic, I literally started crying at the end when Louis saw Claudia 😭. This episode was so good👏🏾

Circe

That was a hard watch. The show is so good!

So this episode makes Lestat’s comment about himself not threatening Claudia with rape on the train even more poignant and believable in my opinion. Also regarding Magnus: He is described as hideous looking in the books as well and there is a reason why he looks more like a typical monster vampire than the rest of the beautiful looking vampires we see so your analysis is spot on. Sam Reid broke my heart this episode. Incredible acting.

Gosh as a male survivor... this was a hard watch... I'm still emotionally rattled and dizzy... It's funny because I thought, "I wish there was some warning for this" and then I remember that WAS a warning. For some reason those warnings never really affect me, maybe because it's not often a male victim as well? But I think more that it's because this one did it so... true... not just the trauma, but the shame, and the guilt. This was hard.

A

Sam Reid, doing so much of that emotional work in close up where there's really no where to hide...just so impressive.

Joy

Regarding vampire telepathy, when a vampire makes a fledgling they can no longer read the fledgling's mind or communicate telepathically with them. This is why Lestat could not read Louis' mind after he turned him.

Jakhiraj✨

You forgot about Armand or today, Arun 😂lying about Gabrielle being there at the theater! And the “roomy box” at the theater!

My favorite episode so far! I saw Sam reid perform in-character as lestat live in concert a few weeks ago (and got to meet the cast beforehand) he sung many songs (and he sounds even more incredible live!) but my favorite, “the loneliness” from this episode he performed as well and it was my absolute favorite. There’s many recordings of the concert online, but I believe they’ll upload it professionally through AMC in the near future, so I hope you guys will be able to see how cool he is live on stage too!

One of my favorite things in this VERY packed episode is a new take on Louis. Since everything we see is Lestat's version of things, it's telling that Louis is the coolest, hottest, bad-ass MF in town in this part of the story. The *five* competing unreliable narrators elevates and complicates this show/series so well -- and rewards multiple viewings. If you recall season one, if a vampire makes another vampire, they can no longer read their thoughts/communicate telepathically. So the only vampire who can't communicate telepathically with another is if they are maker/fledgling. Gabriela... well... more to come on her. Agree with Oak re: Sam Reid. He should have a HUGE career, as well as an Emmy and Golden Globe and Critic's Choice and Peabody and an Oscar and a Pulitzer and the Nobel Peace Prize. (Ok, maybe not the Nobel Peace Prize, but still.) Finally -- LOVING the two songs we got this episode - how great is it to get a terrific television show that comes with its own album of original songs!

Lisa Clark

They had the power go out in Detroit, they had the needle drop in Toronto, and they mentioned the Great Conversion. It's all stuff in the background (literally) but they're cooking up something, for sure.

Melissa

Excellent reaction, guys! One point I would contest is that Louis got closure or felt satisfaction. When his BF calls and asks if he got what he wanted, the way Jacob says, "Yeah. Yeah," felt so hollow and empty. He got some revenge. He got to share Claudia's words. But simply going to that diner to see/find Regina, IMO, suggests it was not enough. I fear this will send Louis spiraling as his grief is still so bone deep. Oak, I love how you always speak on the highly sensitive emotional beats (Magnus's assault on Lestat) directly. It's so important for everyone to be able to talk about and call out these things. Sam did things in this episode that were mind-blowing even given his past performances. His talent is endless.

Melissa

Very very hard, esp for survivors. Sending warmth and healing your way. 💙

I love at the end of the episode when Sofia/Gabriella leaves the concert (like magnus!!!!) and Lestat gets a moment of real happiness and freedom while he's performing. For me it really drove home how much singing and music means to him and how it saves him -despite still being a mess and living a vampiric life he didn't choose. Also yeah vampire telepathy doesn't work between Marker & Fledgling but between other vampires it works. Ex: Daniel x Armand can't read each others minds but Lestat x Armand or Daniel x Lestat could!

Knightmare

OH ARMAND IS SO BACK

Crystal

Armand staaaaayyy at the scene of the crime lol If he has 0 haters me and Oak are dead.

MandaM

All the love for Sam Reid I highly recommend Newsreader. Drastically different character (still very bisexual) . (Or at least YouTube clips of Sam's scenes as it is a bit slower of a show if you're not into that lol)

Marie RammGirl

Wow what an episode! see Daniel! those entrapment tactics don't work on Lestat! that was a cool trick Lestat pulled on Dan during interview scene ha! (your reactions to Gabriella/Jarda 'Furious Jumping' gave us a cheeky giggle) Even though it was a shocking serious scene, I couldn't help chuckle at Quinn's wit "Lend You a Hand" 🤭 a VERY emotionally charged scene with Louis FINALLY revealing what was on those missing pages, liked the transitions of him reading it as we saw what happened with Lestat too there, Quinn's right their performances are so mesmerising it totally sucks you into the story. (also Stuttering Wolf Killer' could be a cool name for a rock band) 🤘

Crystalrose

I wonder if anything happened in toledo that i haven't noticed until now!!! - i feel like i need to do another rewatch lol

Crystalrose

i love my creepy guy 👁️👁️❤️

Miss Freaky

Another great episode, another great reaction gents!! I was unsure how Lestat would unfold but so far I am satisfied 🦇🦇😊😊 Hope you fine gentlemen had a beautiful Father's Day! Thank you for having this channel and sharing your wonderful souls with us!! Until next week! Bang bang!! (lyric from opening song btw 😜) One more comment: the fact Louis left Killer/Bruce's bride alive worries me. Obviously they did not watch The Walking Dead, you don't leave anyone remaining... The Gov, Gareth from Terminus, Joe from the Claimers group, etc, etc ..big, big mistake!

Sara

Oak tells the truth! This episode was incredible and heartbreaking. Definitely my favorite episode of the season so far. I don’t think Louis seeing “Claudia” as Regina will be closure though. You guys should definitely check out The Newsreader if you want to see more Sam Reid.

rin

I feel so maternal towards claudia I'm over here crying for everyone lestat and Louie included. The song lestat sung was by far my favorite hell this episode is my favorite

Alex

The Magnus part of the book is so creepy and scary. He looks exactly like in the show except he had longer hair, no teeth except fangs. He's just a bony white face in the crowd is what Lestat sees. He also kept Lestat for like a week in his tower and kept feeding on him. Magnus is from the 1400s and he kidnapped Lestat in the 1700s and Lestat was able to defeat 8 wolves but could not fight Magnus, that's how powerful he is. Also, Magnus is Lestat's only successful fledgling so Lestat becomes extremely powerful even in his early years, since the more fledglings the vampires make the powers become more "diluted".

Nicole Mazza

Re: Louis -- Being that the whole Louis vengeance bit with Bruce was from Lestat’s perspective, with it being intercut with Lestat’s memories of his own assault from Magnus, I almost wonder if Lestat wishes on some level that Louis could have taken vengeance on Magnus as well (or at least Lestat is imagining it as both vengeance for Claudia and himself entwined – like living vicariously through it as a fantasy). Like, imagining Louis as a avenging hero in his honor and maybe a little jealous that his does these big ‘dispatches’ of vampires in Claudia’s honor, but not his.

Nicole Mazza

Yeah, you'd think that Louis would've learned by now that vengeance isn't satisfying. He had the same hollow feeling after killing the Theatre des Vampires, after all. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see that Bruce finally got some comeuppance, but a) I worry that Louis is sort of centering himself in the whole thing (like reading Claudia's words is a bit of a violation -- even if I feel it's good that that's the last thing Bruce heard -- and it's more about Louis himself, than what Claudia would've wanted/needed) and b) I worry for poor Regina. I can't imagine that relationship going well, as I'm not sure Louis is going to be able to hold back from inserting himself into her life, likely in an obsessive way.

Shay

Louis being a typical parent more specifically father and not respecting Claudia boundaries by reading her diary, her most somber thoughts and as if it was not enough reading it to her abuser omg this is sooo Claudia I’m so sorry 😭

Shay

Every season there would be an episode that would rattles me more than the others and this was the one During the parallel between Lestat and Claudia both being abused in a different way I felt as if my throat was closing in on itself, like someone had a fistful of my heart This episode is amazing in its portrayal of abuse and helplessness, i thought I was ready but the warnings didn’t give it justice Also the fact that Gabriella came to Lestat doppelgänger as a provocation because Lestat himself put his boundaries and said they wouldn’t have sexual relations again is so disgusting and an other portrayal of abuse She always was very abusive towards him even if we put the whole incestland aside, she didn’t care for him really at first, only when he started to get interesting (killing eight wolves, turning into a vampire) She would always make fun of him, belittle him, she hated Nicolas at first sight because he held her son’s affection, she crashed Lestat interview by having very noisy (on purpose) sex with Jarda, laughing at Daniel jabs and putting ideas in his head on how to threw Lestat off. She’s just beyond fucked and I haaaate her

Laura

Omg what an incredible episode, the whole sequence of louis reading the lost pages made me cry and gave me goosebumps, so relatable:/ best episode so far

A

Me too, the performance and Lestat and Nicki smiling at each other, and the band mates being so joyful too, made me ugly cry

A

Another great reaction! I’d love for Oak to meet Sam one day 😂

farhana

Lots of people who experience the same abuse will use it against others tbh, and Claudia doesn't seem as unreliable as the rest

Fritos

“An addict to LIES and… DECEPTION… and destroying RELATIONSHIPS”🤣🤣 Oak’s beef with Armand has been one of the best parts of this reaction series

luca

late but bless you x2 oak!!

luca

the loneliness is genuinely such a good song i immediately added it to like 3 playlists after hearing it in this ep
