I 100% AGREE... PATREON EXCLUSIVE... REWATCH OF THE FIRST 3 MCU PHASES! Honestly love a rewatch... you'd be surprised how much you learn and how much you catch that you didn't the first time around. And I think it can get more emotional during a rewatch because you know what's about to happen and know the hard reality that's about to hit. If this movie laid off some of the cringy comedy it would've been fantastic. So much darkness to this movie that was overshadowed (pun intended) by the cringey comedy. It should've remained a dark, creepy film with tiny bits of the typical MCU humour. You got Gorr and Jane with cancer and then screaming goats just doesn't make sense. This movie had some very solid moments. Christian Bale was amazing Jane as Mighty Thor was awesome (some cringe though)

Honestly this movie gets a lot of criticism, as it should, even Chris hemsworth said he became a parody of himself in this movie. With that being said, Christian bale did very good with Gorr, and the sequences with him were always really good, imo. But the humor...they went sooo overboard with the humor. If they toned it down by like 50% and took out the weird check boxes they marked when making this movie and added more Gorr and less humor it would be a 10/10.

Crazy asking if he is natural lol, none of the marvel heroes are, they are on crazy doses. There's only so much muscle/lean mass ratio you can biologically gain without involving drugs, so there is not even a question of "if". When you get to the Eternals look up Kumail Nanjiani before/after his juice.. Christian Bale (Batman actor) reminds me that watching The Machinist would be a great one too, sick movie.

I have a theory about this movie and it’s mandated 2 hour runtime, but a lot of people don’t like it. My guess is we had a 2.5 hour runtime or so initially. The studio said all the marvel films that remakes the summer this came out needed to be 2 hours or less to maximize theatrical runs. So when Taika cut 45 minute of footage out (along with characters and the more mature tone like Ragnarok) he had to fill in the remaining 15 minutes with stupid gags in reshoots. Creating the film with a lot of heart and a massive tone problem. Hard to balance Korg jokes and terminal stage 4 cancer.

I think the easiest criticism of this movie is in comparison to ragnarok (or like woolz said the better phases and portions of mcu) but if I was a more casual viewer it’s definitely “entertaining” it just has many moments that end up in an mcu lowlights compilation 😭. Especially during the time this came out we had some pretty bad/mid movies surrounding it , we didnt have GG3, DP&W, Thunderbolts, and F4.

i feel like christian Bales performance of Goor was the best part of this movie. however the comedy definitely took a bit to much priority for my liking. the overall plot was not the worst in my opinion, it was a bit of a roller coaster going from jokes to cancer scenes, back to jokes, and then child death/kidnapping. Not my top marvel film but one of the most memorable villain performances.

My opinion on this movie is that it was too silly, and too many relationships going on. Christian Bale's Gorr did a great job making him look creepy with a lot of those scenes. I think it should have been more of a serious kind of movie like Infinity War was, especially when you have someone with the title "God-Butcher".

I agree with the saying, I've used it myself ngl, but it doesn't apply to movies. Movies are literally meant to be critiqued, whether it's by "professionals" or the public, that's why ratings exist, so other people can make their own choice on watching the movie or not. If a movie is trash it HAS to be said, otherwise Marvel/Disney is gonna keep making horrible movies. People liking anything marvel makes whether it's bad or good are exactly the reason why the MCU went to shii.

I don't dislike this movie as much as a lot of people seem to, but to me the humor goes too far, plus the screaming goats just keep coming back, over and over and over. I don't find them funny, I find them irritating. But I do like the stuff with Gorr and the stuff with Jane, I see a good movie in here, it just gets buried in the director's need to tell a joke every 10 seconds even when it kills the mood. The stuff with Thor's weapons being jealous is also strange to me, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me and feels like it came out of nowhere. Overall, I do enjoy the movie, just not enough to ever really want to put it on instead of other things I could be watching. Unless of course I'm watching a reaction, then it's worth putting on again.

A lot of the scenes make more sense when you realize nearly all the scenes with Thor in this movie are a retelling from Korg's point of view. He literally starts as the narrator and continues throughout the movie with people not realizing it. Korg is embellishing and exaggerating everything to the children he's talking to. This is a theory, but I think it checks out. Marvel has never confirmed or denied it.

It’s not the worst things marvel put out. I think Taika waititi did wonders for the 3rd Thor movie. But did a bit much for the 4th one, especially with the subject matter of Jane and the cancer. Maybe it was the phase four quantity over quantity that made this movie not hit as much but I’d like to see a different take on the Thor movies.

If not going to continue daredevil soon just skip to guardians 3, thunderbolts and fantastic four. Or the Harry Potter movies, those reactions will be awesome. Gorr could’ve been a top 5 mcu villain if the rest of the movie was as serious as him. I don’t hate the movie but losing the goats and 1-2 of the over played comedy scenes would’ve done wonders for this movie. Also fun fact the girl, “love” is Chris Hemsworth’s daughter irl
