This was historical for jhope this album Jack in The Box, but specifically this song was a COMPLETE 180° switch from the mixtapes and solo songs he’s put out through the years if y’all listen to his mixtape Hope World is WAYY upbeat and hype fr but this album Jack in The Box was very much DARK, with GRUNGE Hip Hop elements, Jhope is SOOO versatile, y’all have SOOOOO much more to learn about him music wise can’t wait to see it

lol most kpop if not all kpop song all have English words in it. It’s usually a mix of both of the languages. I noticed things like this in not just kpop but also other music from different countries.

But yea you see how their vibe is different than the groups? And also even from each others solo work? Yea cuz they all have different styles which is why I think it’s so incredible that these 7 men with different styles are all able to come together and make songs together that even though it’s not their 100% preferred style they still love cuz it’s still a style that’s part of them and is significant to their upbringing in music and also in figuring out their own style.

The album is called Jack in the box. When he open the box he was letting Jack out. This album showed more of a darker side and him growing as an artist. Each member released solo albums so they can show thier own unique style and grow individually. They don't want to be solo artists they can do both.

The medley of "Baseline, CypherPt1, Hangsang" at Hobipalooza was iconic. It are all old songs from BTS album and his mixtape, but he jumped out with these so we were all shook. And Jimin flew over to Chicago as a suprise, and was right by J-hope's side during the show. It was the first time one of the members was officially performing a solo show. Their support is just unconditional.

I love this song and the video too. I appreciate the concept and I LOVE his look! As others are saying, Hobi is versatile and a great performer. Yep, he is hungry, to me it also says that he has so many sides we have not seen yet. I think he said it in a behind the scenes and Jimin said something similar as well about his solo songs. I think they all did great and different songs/music during the hiatus; tapping into different styles and whatever they felt like doing. This is partly why I'm so looking forward to hearing a 'new' BTS in 2025! Fun fact: V visited J-hope when he was filming and he spontaneously stood in in the 'manequin scene' at the office. If you watch VERY closely, in the back at the copy machine there is a tall guy in striped t-shirt with short sleeves and a black vest. 😄😄😄 I love how they supported each other during their solos, visiting each other at the video shoots. (Jin and Jungkook had a cameo in Suga's Daechwita for a short but fun background scene ARMY of course loved and V was in More.)

Jody this is the message that Jhope posted on Weverse for Army after it was released. You were right with your analysis, BTS are lucky they have such a supportive label who encourage them to express themselves individually. That’s why they are still committed to BTS as a group because they get to live out both sides of themselves. Needless to say Army supports them all the way. 💜 I’m on my way home after finishing up work!!! In many ways, I feel accomplished and good Even putting aside the song release itself, I think I’m feeling so nice because I completed a song that I had envisioned since the beginning of the pandemic, and because I got to show it to you and have you listen to it in a cool way. I feel like seeing the fruit of all the hard work I’ve put in so far!! Perhaps it’s just my personal satisfaction!!!..hee I don’t know how you liked it But in my ego, I feel like there’s been this constant, childish craving, always wanting to show you cooler things and always exploring things that I can show you individually as BTS’ J-Hope!!! And I feel that today’s the day I accomplish that desire ..! To many ARMYs around the world who were at the receiving end of those emotions I get off my chest, I feel thankful and somewhat sorry as well!!! think this album on the whole contains and presents those emotions of J-Hope !!!!!!!! With today as the start day, I’m planning to gradually show you those emotions of J-Hope in various ways !!! I’d be thankful if you could understand that this is an important process where take my next steps as J-Hope and also as a person that is Jung Hosoek and get excited and be interested in what lies ahead! The song deff has some English mixed in. Speaking from personal experience with learning Korean, the language uses a lot of the same sounding vowels and consonants as English. The similarities with sounds and mixing in English words is one reason I feel Kpop is blowing up in the US, sonically on the ear it’s more approachable. Personally I feel it’s why music in some languages like french or mandarin sounds extra foreign; and why it doesn’t catch on in the US despite there being waaaaay more people who speak those languages.

When I hear their solo work I’m shocked all 7 of them are in a group together. They’re all so very different you wouldn’t even think a group would work but it does. Like wdym rock hope and rnb tae are in the same group??

I like this song too but I have to be in the mood to rage out lol. Personally my Hobi faves are Airplane and Daydream, sooo swaggy! Blue Side and One Verse are in my top Jhope songs ever but they don’t have MVs. 😩

Love this! He has a very diverse catalog. Love the Fight Club vibe of this one, the hallway. Many of the Korean words are sound alike words to English. For example the Korean word mahni means more, but when pronounced, sounds like money, more and money will both fit in the lyrics. The rap line is very good at making both the Korean word and the soundalike English word make sense in the line, even when both words mean different things. Ty guys!

J-hope is a complex person and artist. This song marked a whole new era for him and Army had to adjust real quick. I love the mix of old school rock and rap on this track. Just shows the man can do it all. He may seem jolly all the time but he’s deep af. You’ll see it in the clips when he gets super drunk. He goes into an almost sad and depressed state, as if he’s planning out the future and stressing about it. Also, I think you got it right that him and JK crave the solo success the most out of the seven members. J-Hope has been wanting to do his own thing for a long time!

Yay! So happy y’all liked this song. His album for this was amazing and showcased a lot of his versatility. Many ppl were surprised by it, but he had some songs from his first mixtape that had similar vibes. I think y’all would really like Hangsang and Baseline from his Hope World mixtape. If you get the chance to put it on your watchlist in the future, I’d love to see y’all watch a JHope stage performance compilation video and/or his performances at MAMA 2022. They really showcase how much he loves the work he’s in (like all the guys) and how amazing he is at controlling and engaging the stage/crowd. He’s a born performer and stage king. I went to Hobipalooza and his stage was completely different than anyone else’s. Everything disappeared and it was just him and the crowd/army and the music - even the mayor introduced him 😭😭

I’ve seen reactor’s who were rappers or involved in the music industry say that Jhope’s cadence is quite unique as he flows to the beat with the rhythm of a dancer as opposed to a musician. Years and years of street dance before he was taught to rap by RM and Suga, kinda makes sense 💜

Yea his mixing Rap & Rock in that album reminded me alot of the Beastie Boys, which is not my personal taste. I feel the mark of a great musician is someone who can turn a genre of music you don’t like into something you still find enjoyable, like Beyonce did with country lol.

Yall are way behind and wrong on who's fluent in English. Jhope is fluent at this point along with Jin and Rm. JK, Jimin, V, and Suga can barely have a conversation in English and also heavily rely on translators. Some are better than others (JK). I would say Suga is the least fluent. You will hardly find Suga saying but one or two words in English in interviews. That is not to say that all of them don't understand basic English though.

In terms of English knowledge I would put the list at: RM, Jin, JHope, Suga, JK, V, Jimin. It’s weird saying that about Suga lol, there’s plenty of content of his speaking English. He’s just shy about it and probably not confident in his pronunciation or something, buts he’s proven many times he understands and can speak English probably up to par with hobi at this point. JK has proven he’s learned a lot too via Weverse and IG conversations.
