Pride takes pride in being the first homunculus born from Father, which is why he calls himself the first one. (And imagine how interesting it would be if Father told Pride, “Technically, I’m the first homunculus, so basically… you’re nothing.”)

This is maybe my favorite episode for the exact reactions you showed here. I get so excited fitting all the pieces together and understanding so much more of the story with this reveal. It's so satisfying and energizing at the same time

Finally! Have been waiting for you to watch this episode since you started theorizing about the relationship between "Father" and Hoenheim. It is such a fascinating relationship and it makes Hoenheim such a tragic figure. Can't imagine living for so long hearing the voices of all the people you knew and loved screaming in agony non-stop. No wonder he sees himself as a monster. By the way, the full name of the Alchemist Paracelso is "Theophrastus Phillippus Aureolus Bombastus von Hohenheim". So the "Dwarf in the Flask" just shortened his name a little bit at the end, lol

I just love the way this writer writes characters, everyone, even the dwarf in the frask (especially the dwarf in the frask!) have a very well define personality that it is not cut& paste. He is so villany in a way that's not seemed very often, smart, manipulative and simple in a very unique way. And I also love Olivier, she's just simply a Queen in the extension of the word 👑

It technically wasn’t “required”for Hoenhiam to have immortality. The homunculus in the flask just wanted to give him immortality for being the one to give him life.

I don’t think it’s the pursuit of knowledge that’s damning them, it’s the way they used the knowledge to accomplish their impossible goals. Knowledge can cure diseases, it can also create atomic bomb. As a Japanese speaker, it always troubled me that they translated “真理 shin-ri” to simple “truth”. “真 shin” means true, and “理 ri” means order, reason, logic, principle, SCIENCE, etc. The word 真理 (shin-ri) itself has a scientific undertone to it. Nuances get lost in translation, it is inevitable.

If Hohenheim can't give back Izumi's organs bc they are proof of her sin, is Alphonse's body, which was taken away bc of his sin, recoverable? And if so, what do you think the price would be?
