Adam

favorite episode, but THEY SHOULD HAVE KISSED WHY DIDNT ROY HUG HER OR SOMETHING

Envy cant shapeshift a functioning gun, big hint :) so if envy had been riza the gun wouldve been a prop

I think, in a way, Envy got the rawest deal of all the sins. All the others can have positive aspects, in moderation, or looked at in the right way (like Greed does, with pointing out that wanting things is not inherently bad). Righteous anger, taking pride in real accomplishments, and the earthly pleasures of rest and food and lust are not necessarily bad things unless in excess. But having your entire being be built around the feeling of envy has to SUCK. It is, as Roy says, an ugly feeling, full stop. So I think feeling a little bad for Envy, in the end, makes sense, as awful as he is.

One of the best episodes for me, I loved the Envy/Roy scene. You know you've created great characters when we can feel sad about the death of an antagonist. Riza is a real Ride or Die, basically said "I cannot live in a world without you". I truly love their dynamic and their trust in one another. Roy entrusted his back to her, and told her she is permitted to shoot him if he veers towards the wrong path. And she absolutely would have. (I also wished they woulda kissed but YOU KNOW we all know they love each other, the looks on their faces was already enough).

So glad to know you've started reading the manga of FMA, too! Hiromu Arakawa's extra pages/chapters are so fun to read. Love the various anecdotes of her life, too! I'm sure you'll appreciate especially the Ishvalan war story more once you read it. ^^ The "NOW KISS" is such a mood. HAHAHA loveee Riza and Roy's relationship so much! Envy being in that cute little form really helped in making me feel bad for him for a bit tbh lol

Envy has always had a lot of disdain and contempt for humans and in hindsight it totally makes sense that it's all just to mask and compensate for his jealousy

I also just started the manga. I got the entire collection for Christmas. It came with a novel as well. I haven't read it yet but I'm working my way towards it. I love all the little sketches and extra stuff the author included. The illustration are beautiful.

Oh yeah, in the 2003 version the include a lot of those things from the manag. The train scene you were talking about along with yokis backstory. They decided to cut that when they remade it since most people had already seen it at the time and they really wanted to hurry up and get to the part where the 2003 diverges from the manag so they could put more effort into the new stuff.

"I lied" BLAM! one of my favorite scenes 😂

As others have said, I love that you're now reading the manga, and seeing the mesh of 2003, FMAB, and the manga. Arakawa is SO funny with her extras and doodles. The train scene and Yoki's back story are in 03, and it's so funny and awesome. Also, as someone who grew up on 03, and then saw FMAB years later, I knew all the military peeps of Mustang, and in FMAB they almost "assume" you've seen 03. FMAB came out 6 years later in 2009, but you're watching it many years later! It's so awesome to relive it again and again even after all this time. I highly suggest you check out the "fullmetal" editions of the manga, they're hard cover and shiny and pretty. They have even more extras in them. Plus! there is a 20th anniversay book as well, which has 4 mini stories (think OVA's) in it as well!

I love seeing everyone's prediction on who's who in that scene!

That Armstrong fight theme went so hard
