Proceeds to immediately say characterizations about him she doesn't mean which, using super tsundere translation, translate to 'I know there's a kindness within you, [but since the kind tend to die too young] please don't let it get you killed because I care about you....YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DIE. IF I SAY YOU AREN'T KIND AND TO STAY THAT WAY FOREVER THEN SURELY YOU WON'T FALL INTO THE CORRELATION BETWEEN KINDNESS AND EARLY DEATH!. lmao That short scene is written so well and is perfectly in line with her character.

This was a phenomenal episode for sure!!! It was a really satisfying payoff for all the buildup from the beginning of this season! This episode has some of my favorite character moments in the midst of all the really cool action scenes: the flashback with Serie saying Genau shouldn’t have a shred of kindness because kind mages tend to die and she doesn’t want him to die. Methode analyzing her opponents and paving the way for Fern to take care of both demons. I love how Methode’s love for magic helps her have an advantage over the demons. Genau wrapping his coat around Stark’s wounds and asking Methode to heal him first. Genau really is a good guy. I think that’s why Serie paired Methode with him. She knew Genau would risk his life to protect others because he is kind so she paired him with someone who has healing magic.

Great comment 👐 I love characters like Genau from anime. He's the perfect example of a "stoic softie"! On the outside, he seems cold and practical, but really he's hiding a ton of pain and a super caring heart. Sophie totally gets it when she explains how he saw his hometown destroyed and went through so much loss that he had to become this "battle-first" kind of guy just to survive! And his new friendship with Stark? 🤝🏻 Ugh, it's the best! They're total bros on the front lines haha! Even though Genau's usually all serious, he even gives Stark a rare "thanks" after a fight. Their bond is just amazing!
