Season 2 has been announced for (approximately) late 2026/early 2027, there‘s already a teaser for it aswell!

So the next chainsaw man arc was announced to be in production in December. But they didn’t say specifically if it was going to be adapted into a movie or a season. This caused some confusion considering the next arc is only around 18 chapters of the manga, so many people were wondering if that could be made into a full season considering season 1 adapts about 40 chapters. And as of right now there has been no new info about season 2. But studio mappa is going to have a 15th anniversary livestream in June to talk about their current projects. And many people are speculating that is where we are going to get new info about the next arc of chainsaw man. Imo I think it’s going to be a short season not a movie, But regardless if we do get new info in June or not, I’m just happy it’s in production. And as a manga reader I know that what’s to come in chainsaw man is so crazy that it make season 1 look relatively sane in comparison.

20,000 yen isn't even that much money!

i love chainsaw man sooo much! fun fact: chainsaw man is 100% owned by mappa. they loved the manga so much that they bought the whole material which gives them 100% creative freedom to do whatever they want with no external investors/entities giving them deadlines. you can tell from the opening and mutiple endings, number of famous VAs, and different top directors to anime each episode, they are not pulling back on funding the show. also mappa bought all of fujimoto's portfolio and animed a few of them already so hope you get to check those out too. i'm sure you'll quickly find out how amazing fujimoto's talent at storytelling is.

well despite some spoiler knoweldge I don't know either but I would specualte that the gun devil just wants to hand guns to yakuza the money is just an excuse to make it a contract he just has an interest in criminals having guns to cause chaos with so people are more scared of guns

Dr Sophie 😲😄: "Oh the Angel Devil...What⁉️" I find the two paradoxes presented by the Angel Devil in Chainsaw Man to be incredibly fascinating! They're seriously mind-bending and a really clever way to mess with our heads. 👥️💭🆚️📚 😇🪽🆚️👁👁👁 The first one❓️ A common misconception we have as viewers about how angels are portrayed in popular culture. It's wild how we picture angels as these beautiful, winged beings, right? But then you look at stuff like the Bible or the Torah, and angels are described as these super intense, almost terrifying creatures with wheels and eyes everywhere. And the funny thing is, they're always telling people not to be scared, which is kinda ironic when you think about it. Devils are usually the ones that take on human forms to mess with us, but here's the Angel Devil looking exactly like our typical "angel" image, not the crazy biblical one! It's a total role reversal! And the second paradox❓️That's the one that really gets me 🥲, and it's so sad. It's like, the Angel Devil is the embodiment of that fear we have of angels, like the Angel of Death coming for us. So, he's got this built-in power where he just drains the life out of anyone he touches, just like Kishibe warned. But then, here's the kicker: Kishibe also said humanoid devils are usually more chill, and this guy (he is a male character despite having a feminine appearance), due to his angelic side, seems to have zero innate hostility of the usual devilish hatred for humans. He's not even really antagonistic! It's just this automatic, deadly touch that's probably forced him into this super lonely, guarded life. Imagine the guilt he must carry around all the time, knowing he can't even have a normal interaction without hurting someone. It’s a really tragic twist. 🫱🏻🚫🫲🏻

The Future Devil is so cool but the future doesn’t rule 😭😭😭 I’m curious if you have any predictions regarding what he told Aki?

I also think it's going to be a short season next, but I'd looooove to see chapters 63-66 on an IMAX screen. But either way, I know Mappa will do a fantastic adaptation!

I’d probably want it to be a short season because I think that format fits the season better, but with how great the reze arc movies animation and overall theater experience was I would love to see it be a movie too. I think the best of both worlds would be to do what jjk did and have the first 1 or 2 episodes be shown in theaters along with the end of the reze arc movie. I would love to see the anime onlys reaction to chapter 54 on the big screen😂. Prob one of the most iconic character intros in csm.
