I love the detail of Olruggio saying he must’ve left the door open on accident but then at the end of the scene he purposely leaves it open after she leaves.

I got emotional too. It's a good episode. It lets us sit with the characters in their everyday and get to know them as they get to know each other. Not a lot of shows would devote a whole episode to that. Not ones that have fight scenes and political intrigue anyway. Frieren comes to mind but it feels different somehow.

"they are like two dads..." already one of us :3

Hearing you ask if Ollrugio made the drying spell for Qifrey now has me wondering what his inspiration was for creating these glowing blocks. Was it for someone else? Maybe he wanted to ensure paths were lit for those who were afraid of the dark, or needed guidance on dark roads. I’m really curious. Also, these two are definitely shipped by the fans 😂 they are really two dads looking after these girls I also believe that him and Qifrey both have had some encounter with forbidden magic, maybe a shared history, that has lead them to their respective ideals. Ollrugio took his job as the watchful eye to make sure nothing goes astray from the rules. Qifreys pursuing the Brimmed Caps for unknown reasons, which it seems Ollrugio was unaware of despite how close they seem…..just peaks my curiosity in their relationship and history together. It feels like they’ve known eachother for quite a bit of time.

I'm still sus about Painting Gojo, the same way Olrugio is such a sweet guy inside I think Qifrey is almost the opposite 👀

I dont know if its just that we have different ways of putting it, but the thing about helping in the kitchen wasnt to give her confidence, but to actually see what changes when you alter the different components of the magic circle and use it in a practival way, therefore giving you examples so you can use in the future, to think what to change if you need, for example, to have a stronger flame or to have something floating above it instead of in it like the thing she baked. Kinda like learning a new language by talking to people when you only know the basics

Also since Olruggio is here i can say it. Qifrey is not a single dad who loves his kids, hes a dad in an ambiguous relationship with their other dad who loves his kids. I bet when he tought abt taking in Coco it was like when someone keeps rescuing animals, and they come home with another one bc they know their partner its going to be like "oh no... not another one... anyway heres the new bed, more food, toys, treats, blahblahblah". Also i have to confess that my personality very similar to Agott (more than i would like to admit) so sometimes she says something to Coco and im like "yeah that makes sense" (even if i ould have worded it a bit differently, considering im not 12 years old) so when you are like Agott! no, dont be like that, its like this or that i feel bad 😭lol

(You made the pet comparison just when i published the comment lmao)

Why can't it be both giving her confidence and teaching her? 🤷‍♀️ He clearly sees how frustrated she is at not being of use with her magic. He's giving her magic a use and guiding her in the process.

when you commented in a previous video that Qifrey was a single dad, I had to stop myself from replying HE'S MARRIED THANK YOU VERY MUCH 🤣

i love it more for the fact that Olruggio is a fake idgafer. i would like to believe that despite the scary sign, he has always kept his door open because he's the Watchful Eye. it's so that the girls can just come in whenever they needed. he's making himself accessible despite his grumpy demeanor.

That it's true, I just thought it was worth mentioning bc it shows that while he may or not may be good at actually teaching (he probably is tho) he's a good teacer bc he can give them the tools to think and fend for themselves, to be flexible with what they learn, which is something that usually people dont give it the importance it deserves, irl i mean

I really love how Qifrey’s teaching methods of incorporating magic into your daily life. It’s such a great way to have Coco practice magic without making it feel like a burden. Seeing magic being used to help cooking is always a delight! I also love that Coco’s pure love and joy for magic has affected not only Agott but also Olruggio too.
