Great reaction and analogy as usual, i genuinely cannot wait till next week for the final two episodes for season 1(personally atleast the last two episodes are in my top 5 for this season). Your analyses are always so good ! I love Megumi so much but imo he's criminally underrated and a big part of the fandom makes fun of him for being "nonchalant" and self-sacrificial, it's refreshing to watch you see past that and realize that he has low self esteem and that he cares deeply for his loved ones

Megumi is such a fake idgafer, he obviously cares very much abt Yuji and Nobara and doesnt want to burden them with his problems, my boy, my son, my baby 😭. Sadly he needs to understand thats exactly what friends are for. Im so glad youre not dismissing his feelings as a lot of the fandom tends to do. Also love that youre actually looking into jp folklore and mythology, that makes me feel much better than you just watching the animes, since it helps you understand subtext and even make predictions better <3. Btw its so validating that some of your predictions are on the same line as to what me and my friends tought when we were watching JJK for the 1st time.

You should make sure to check out the japanese folklore origin for the death paintings, but definitely way later down the line, probably after season 4 thats coming up. Gege draws from some SICK source material, the aesthetics of it all shine through even with season 1's looser art direction.

I feel like Gege wrote himself into this character a lot, and to see how many of his fans joke about depression and things of that nature, just makes my blood boil. I think he was genuinely expressing himself through Megumi. Beautiful writing
