This was one of my favorite episodes, and I love how it focused on Tartah. Sweet boy is so precious, I love him and he deserves the world. I love how in the scenes with his hat on the ground, its in shadow, but as he slowly figured out that spell and gained confidence, the moonlight started to shine on it, like it was symbolizing he truly is a witch. The hat is NOT just for show that he's from a family line, but that he is capable to be a witch apprentice, and deserves to be. I'm so proud of him. Oh, Qifrey was 100% gaslighting Tartah from the moment they spoke at the beginning. He used distraction first; then avoidance to delay the question; then straight up gaslighting. What would happen if Tartah found out, I wonder. What would he do, and how would Qifrey respond. Something a little nervewracking to think about. Ummmm Brimmed Caps planning to crash a test? Sounds ominous....oh boy.

This was a wonderful reaction to an amazing episode!!! Seeing in the world in silver from Tartah’s point of view is one of my favourite details in the show so far! It really emphasized Tartah’s struggles and the frustration he has with the way the world works. I really liked how the story touch upon issues of exclusivity in the witching world as well as how ordinary people treat witches so callously. It makes the world-building so much more interesting!

So a whole society of witches cant possibly accept someone different like Tartah bc there are some things they cant do, but a couple of kids, one with the terrible silverwash syndrome and another feverish one who has just begun learning magic, are enough to get a basic accesibility aid... hmmmmmm... And the way the people treat witches it so... fascinating, I hope the show delves deeper into that later. Btw Sophie, do you think the brimmed caps are all like, an organization or just "rebels" that get grouped together as ennemies of the state or something? wanna hear your thoughts.

I shared my thoughts in the intro and the outro on what I believe the Brimmed Caps to be :)

Your Momo blouse is so stinkin cute!! And I love your earrings, you always sport the cutest looks <3 This is probably going to be one of my favorite slow episodes. The believable build between Tartah and Coco as they begin to notice and admire each other is just too adorable. I really need more episodes where they get to bond...

The cutest episode of anime I have ever seen somehow. T_T I just had tears in my eyes the whole time, and by the time it was over my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! Love your analysis of the Brimmed Caps! I am dying to know more about them. I suspect I will find myself empathizing with them when more is revealed, but maybe I'm jumping the gun. The restrictions around magic just don't sit right with me, so there must be something more going on... I just don't know what! XD

Well the sad truth even is even IRL the problem with accessibility often isn't that it's too difficult but that even that small extra step is too much effort/too big of an investment for a society that is unwilling to be accommodating. Like something as laughably simple as ramps for wheelchair users or parents with strollers is something that still is lacking in many places, because investing the money and time to build them is already too much to ask.
