If only we were all as dedicated to our goals as Kenjaku.

1110

all of your viewers just let out a huge sigh now that we can finally call him Kenny instead of "the brain" or "fake Geto" 😭 I love the way the animators and directors used the open space in this EP to make the info dump very engaging visually. I'm not someone who minds dialogue/lore-heavy episodes at all but it still makes it even more fun to watch

Imothy

The info-dump ep lol. Cannot wait for the next one though, my favorite episode with my favorite character

Sonja Seren

Oh yayyyy the "this will be on the test" episode. Also damn. Toji and his Heavenly Pact wasn't just overpowered physically. He was a terror on a metaphysical level too. I did seriously have to draw flow charts and notes on paper for this one. The show doing the same helped. All the lore was worth it to explain why and how we got here. Toji

Jaden Acevedo

We know that around every 500 years tengen needs to assimilate with a star plasma vessel, we also know that a sorcerer with the 6 eyes and limitless technique is only born around every 400 years + how ever many years it takes them to mature as a sorcerer . So my personal theory is that the world(jujutsu itself) knows that tengen evolving would be awful for humanity so it’s finding a way for it to be done effectively by providing a super powerful sorcerer every time the merging is about to happen. Especially since a second 6 eyes limitless user showed up before another 400 years passed to stop Kenjakus plan after he killed the baby

Mannycool4

kenjaku is the most interesting character in the series for me, it’s crazy seeing you guess things like him being the mother before it’s shown

Jaden Acevedo

Also seeing shoko smoke so much again is super sad considering she stopped for a long time but started again after her last friend was seemingly sealed forever

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Or Battle Royale the father of that genre :P Also written by a Japanese author so likely the more direct inspo for Gege!

Lucky

Love how they basically said that for the past 2 decades kenjaku has just been getting super lucky and having most things fall in his lap for his plan. Like, I can just imagine kenjaku reacting to all the things that happened that just happened to help him. Oh, a boy with cursed spirit manipulation was born. Oh, the star plasma vessel was killed right before assimiliation. Oh, gojo destroyed the two things that could allow him to escape the inescapable prison. Gojo didnt destroy getos body. Like, seriously he must have been laughing like crazy

agmnii

Thank you, Tengen, for the PowerPoint

Dot

Maki: “No one is stronger than you King” That’s my couple 💯

Vebjørn Larssen

Next episode is my favorite of the series so far. Can’t wait!

Atena

It's crazy how little Toji is in the story but how profound his impact on it is

Dylan Pisani

When your finished DONT watch the trailer for s4, someone like you will spoil yourself trust me

baileygobrr

its so funny how many times you pause and predict whats about to happen or be revealed minutes before lol

baileygobrr

so uh yeah when you think about it toji kinda caused the entire series to happen by putting the bounty on and killing amanai lmaoo

Jim Nasium

KENNNYYYY! *in Levi's voice*

DapperDad

4:09 I don't know if that abrupt cut was intetional, but 10/10 if so. I laughed like an idiot when you rolled your eyes

Jim Nasium

Hey Sophie, I know you mentioned you have a hard time with voice so just pointing out that the narrator in the previous episodes in season 1 and 2 was Tengen which makes sense now. Also the suspended 3rd year Hakari was mentioned in episode 6 when Gojo was talking to Kiyotaka ljichi. You can go back and look at that conversation to get Gojo's opinion on Hikari to add to your knowledge base FYI.

Jim Nasium

She's the queen of context clues. It's like she has the six eyes for stuff like that

Pancake

the JJK fights actually have a lot of analysis you can do! it's a lot less plot focused, but the fights are almost their own story. like in Mahoraga fight you can see and figure out his ability before it's revealed and watch Sukuna try and figure it out to win

Anthony Flenniken

I like to think I'm at least 50-50, but like maybe it's 70-30 ya know.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Yes, but they're not developing the story so it's of less interest for me to analyse a fight scene by scene. That's the point I'm making 😂

domi

For the last 2 decades Kenny has just been hearing ICantStopWinning.mp3 constantly😂

Big brain the episode

Mickael Landry

Kenjaku out here trying to be the most considerate, legally compliant mass murderer in jujutsu history! 🧠📑 "Look, I may be a 1,000 year old brain hopping parasite planning to turn the entire population of Japan into a giant, nightmarish soup monster... 🧟‍♂️👾 but I am not a monster without manners. I give people options! 🚪✨ You’re a regular civilian who just woke up trapped in a terrifying, pitch-black supernatural arena? No problem! 😨🌃 Please use the nearest designated emergency exit during our complimentary grace period. 🏃🏻💨 Your safety and free will are my top priorities! Go home, pack your bags, flee the country, live your best life! 🧳✈️🌴 ...Of course, if you get confused by the screaming, trip over a curse, or take more than five minutes to find the exit ⏳💥, the system will legally consider your presence an 'automatic agreement to participate.' 📜✒️ At that point, you are officially classified as organic, free-range target practice worth exactly one point to the bloodthirsty samurai next door. 🎯⚔️🩸 But hey, that's on your time management, not me! I gave you the choice.🤷🏻‍♂️⌚ Kenjaku: bringing you apocalyptic doom, with a side of excellent customer service." ☄️🤝🏻🎩

Jokes aside, if like Sophie this is your first time watching and you're looking to get the full picture on how the Culling Game works and what's at stake, you can check out this image link for a quick breakdown of the rules and everything you need to know. https://i.postimg.cc/GpnLBDRC/image-1-991.png

Sebas Tian

Ah yeah, I remember this class from Teacher Tengen back in College

Jim Nasium

Whoops I forgot to mention what season lol. Season 1 episode 6 🤦🏿‍♂️

Goldie

time to watch Tengen's TedxTalk 😌

Amy

I think it's worth mentioning that Tengen's gender has not actually been mentioned as far as I'm aware. The English subtitles since S2 have used he/him pronouns for them but to my knowledge the original Japanese dialogue never uses any specifically gendered language, which is pretty common in Japanese as a whole. Also in this episode Yuki mentions there not being a new voice, so the current voice being a woman's implies that the current body (at least pre evolution) was a woman, and Riko who was meant to be the next is also a woman, so if anything the evidence points to Tengen being a woman (before evolving into some genderless, one-with-the-world entity). I think this lends itself to a wider conversation of why the English translation defaults to referring to Tengen as male and generally why important characters and people are kind of just assumed to be men.

Bowsber

Tengen's powerpoint feels like the kind of overwhelming onboarding you could expect on your first day of the job. Real infinite void levels of information to take in LMAO. I do really like the detail when considering Kenjaku's whole 'villain that planned everything ahead of time' shtick that this is something he's probably been working towards for a literal millennium, and that essentially all of his plans are reliant on the right coincidences (and that he's had PLENTY of failures and plans that have just led to nothing). For someone who literally has all the time in the world, it doesn't feel contrived at all that at SOME point everything's fallen into place. Just needed the monkeys to eventually write a bit of Shakespeare for him (apt word choice of mine considering the sorcerer he's possessing) It's also so interesting to me that cursed energy as a system has an inherent 'order' or balance to it. Kenny being so ridiculously intelligent but being limited by the 'system', only for people like Sukuna or Gojo to come along who get to cheat the power system and break all the barriers they want. I think him clearly being much weaker than those two makes him much scarier in many senses, he doesn't seem like the type to be foiled by someone simply because he underestimated them or something.

JitterBones

You had it right the first time- KenjAku

Lu

I am so amazed every time I think about how everything boils down to Toji existing outside fate and interrupting it and Geto being born and meeting Gojo. It hurts me to think about how doomed Geto and Gojo were from the beginning. In a way you can argue that this was fate too. Their love for each other was what left them vulnerable

SoonerJay

If I’m remembering correct, Tengen also calls themself a granny when talking to Yuji in the manga but that didn’t get carried over

SoonerJay

It’s a lot harder to pick up on because he’s not given a lot of context but Hakari is frequently mentioned alongside Yuta throughout the series. He was most recently mentioned in episode 2 when Gojo went to talk to Yuta. Just in case it seems like he’s a brand new character, he’s not!

I'm a Machine

Whats double funny is that you could say the same about Sukuna. Both of the main villians are just lucky as shit.
