.....whoops, in trying to get the Unused strip to show up, this got published early.

David M Willis

like, no, i don't want to schedule the unused strip post, i want it to go up now-- oh i've published the wrong thing, okay, great

David M Willis

anyway enjoy an extra-early strip that's not about dorothy being bi

Harrison Fuller

Wait no. Say it was intentional. Jennifer getting a friend with no strings attached is that important of an arc.

darklion

We didn't expect the Spanish inquisition

Andrea Andrew

Suddenly, a lot makes sense with BJ.

Joyce: "What do I *want*? I just want you to be *happy*, Jennifer. I want *everyone* to be happy." Jennifer: "Oh... Joyce, that's so---" Joyce: "Except maybe Mary. She's a fucking bongo."

Andrea Andrew

So bisexuality determines extra early strips. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of extra early posts, especially next month.

Meghan

Me: wow, Jennifer's suddenly sympathetic. Also me:maybe I should examine why I think that ... nah.

Jasmijn Wellner

Good to see Jennifer has a decent therapist, she really needs all the help she can get

Girlycore

Wow, look what you've done Andrea. 😋

Simon Magid

My problem with people who base their happiness on other people being unhappy is that I find it really hard to care when *they* are unhappy.

Jasmijn Wellner

Sounds like something Jennifer would say...

Andrea Andrew

Which one? The official one or Joyce? Both?

Jasmijn Wellner

The actual therapist. Joyce is a good friend, which is also important

Andrea Andrew

Simon, you literally described the current administration and the sleazy billionaire puppet master.

Rich Holmes

Well now you'll just have to draw the REAL Friday strip.

IAmDeltaS

I'm a little surprised Jennifer is actually seeing a therapist. Also way to prove your therapist's point, Jennifer

Bagge

She want you to teach her how to be an alpha-bongo. We've been through this, Jennifer

Julian Williams

Well she's certainly saying the words! That's.... A start.

This strip has a minor and a major highlight. Minor: Joe chewing as this pivotal conversation goes back and forth in front of him. He doesn't know Jennifer well, but he's seeing his girlfriend basically will herself into being a helping friend to Jennifer. He will digest well. Major: the subtlety of the punch-line. Even having Joyce repeat the therapist's take with a full-on Smile of Generosity, Jennifer can't yet believe what she's being told, and models all other people as being self-interested. Further notes: 1. Joyce's therapy-smile is not as large has her maxed-out triangle. While still genuine, the smile now serves an end rather than just being the way Joyce's personality radiates away excess sunshine. 2. Jennifer makes a dismissive hand gesture while she repeats her therapist's cogent insight. 3. Going out on a limb: in view of the help from Joyce, does Jennifer actually need Alice to recognize her changes? It seems more like she's becoming able to *make* the change she wishes to announce. Joyce has already set expectations that there will be indefinitely many lunch-time conversations before Project Alice reaches a conclusion, and Jennifer is buying in anyhow—she's receptive.

Private me

misery loves company I can feel bad to them up to a point but this thought pattern can get really destructive.

"Well, I've been doing some reading, and the term 'unicorn' came up-"

C.T. Phipps

I wonder if Joyce will ask Jennifer if she even liked Asher.
