I'd also say this is most explicit evidence Joyce is attracted to Dorothy and wants her "to do stuff to her" (Joyce herself makes this distinction). In trying to comment on other commentators' anguished calls for yet-unrevealed strips, I've been trying to read Joyce's mind, and I think I have an answer. Stop reading if you don't want even a speculative spoiler. Really—speculative spoiler follows. OK, here goes. Joyce is anticipating a sexual session with Joe that both partners agree will involve Joe's penis in Joyce's vagina. Joyce has never done this before, and it seems to be her marker for change of status to non-virgin. Joyce has, however, stimulated Joe to orgasm, with no apparent hesitation on her part. Now, however, she feels the need to prepare by rehearsing with the more-experienced Dorothy, just as Dorothy—entirely selflessly, as Joyce might still perceive—led her into the experience of self-pleasure. I deduce that Joyce wants guidance in *accepting* stimulation from Joe: both asking for, and enjoying without hesitation. Thus Joyce is likely going to ask Dorothy to act as surrogate stimulator, so that Joe doesn't have to deal with any adverse reactions on her part. I don't think this excludes Joyce relishing the prospect of sharing sexual pleasure with Dorothy as a direct sexual desire for Dorothy, but she's certainly acting as if her wishes for her relationship with Joe dominate. Of course, we have tons of dramatic irony, with Dorothy known both to us and herself to have sexual and romantic desire for Joyce. She finds this unacceptable through some superposition of discomfort with desiring women and deep commitment to caring for Joyce. On ther other hand, Dorothy, when pushed hard in her conversation with Joe, expressed resentment at having sacrificed her own desires in life (https://www.dumbingofage.com/2025/comic/book-15/03-me-and-who-you-say-i-was-yesterday/suggestion/). I do not know what is going to happen behind that closed door—these circumstances having been carefully set up by the author—but I think I can see what the possibilities might mean to the three characters most affected.

Talk it out? Maybe. It does seem too early for Dorothy to spill the beans about her feelings, but I didn't think this specific scenario, which is ideal for the confession, would happen so quickly either. The main question I have is about Joyce's supposed naivety here. Given what we know, Joyce likely has her own designs here. She's aware of the gayness of the laundry trip but has requested and initiated an escalated version of it. It was Dorothy's idea last time. Contrast her reaction to Carla questioning them on their way to the laundry to the last strip. Confident admission of what they're about to do and no visible anxiety (none in this strip either, offering to take Dorothy's coat and immediately get down to business lol). Joyce hasn't brought up the titty pic, but she must have some idea of why Dorothy might have sent that to her. Then you have Jennifer telling her it's completely normal to make out with and bang your bestie once or twice. An invitation to a dry humping session immediately following these events isn't a coincidence. What makes it murky is the pretext or guise it's about preparing for Joe, but that seems completely like hog wash if you think about it for five seconds. Oh, and the drunken confession of wanting to see Dorothy have sex with Walky to observe how it's done (for the same exact reason) while covering up his half with her hand has turned into a full on propositioning Dorothy to show her herself. That's significant and a shift from observer to participant. The idea only Dorothy would be a "terrible person" if she participates in what Joyce wants her to do with her and is actively orchestrating is depriving Joyce of agency here. It doesn't make sense because it's predicated on the notion Joyce is unaware she'd be getting Dorothy off in this scenario and Dorothy would be intentionally taking advantage of that fact. What's clear is Joyce is aware they'd be getting off together. While Dorothy would be knowingly cheating on Walky in a sense, Joyce, under the pretext of practice and notion that sexual activity between friends is normal and "degayifies" it somehow (only implicit atm), would be ironically cheating on Joe in another sense.
