MrShoggoth

Joyce you’re better than this, stop it

Proto_Eevee

im gonna be honest i didn't see this going so well for dorothy

ArchineerLock

It's never been more happening than it is right now.

C

...This is magical right here. Genuinely cute stuff.

Jeremy AR

Come on Willis, at this point you are just being cruel.

Smoochie

Tell me where your love lies, Waste the day and spend the night, Underneath the sunrise, Show me where your love lies…

GPanda

Next strip walky Burt’s in saying : hey everyone! who wants some McNuggets?

LupinThe8th

No matter how far this ends up going, we can definitely make one conclusion: Paramore was a great frigging choice.

PaperRabbits

And here is where I bow out! It's been a cool 12 years everyone!

purblepossum

i'm CONVINCED this is gonna be a fakeout but also my expectations were shattered three pages ago so i am willing to accept anything.

Andrea Andrew

Now play Worthy by Casey Lee Williams of Rwby fame. LOL 🌈🌈🌈

Noelle Eve Palmer

girlfriend now biting her ring so hard it dented at this one

Quantum

I don’t know how to feel about this bro

Vivian

There's still time

eeeeeeeeeli

DAMN YOU WILLISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Jim Avery

He's doing this on purpose.

Corronchilejano

Honestly thought we were going to sudden cut to Billie or something.

Vivian

The pacing is excruciatingly poignant, Willis

Aneterio

Not a word spoken, and yet I can still feel the dread setting in!

LupinThe8th

Every time Willis gets this response from someone, his buffer grows by another week.

Harold

@Rabbit: Well, they haven't kissed yet. And I have the feeling that something is going to happen to ensure they won't complete this action. But hey, if thought = action in your mind, you do you, no judging. A little weird that you feel compelled to announce your departure, but, again, YDY. Adios!

Quantum

Like, poor Joe dude! Poor Walky! Fuckin BECKY if she found out, surely??

Rubia

I hope and *don't* hope that things progress further than this. Though I want them together, it's impossible for me not to feel bad for Joe, given how he's grown as a person (and character). It's terrible to be torn this way, and I can do nothing but wish for Willis to thread some needle of storytelling that doesn't leave some or all of them devastated.

Megh

Well I feel like this recontextualizes Joyce's reaction to Dotty in class earlier a bit

Verteiron

Look at the eyebrow. Joyce is testing boundaries. Dorothy is leaning into it. No matter what someone's gonna be hurt now ... DYW

Harold

@Megh: It's been a long, long day of recontextualization for both of them.

Dahlia Rose

WTF, Is this actually happening?? Like despite how this looks to be going I still expect Joyce to suddenly be like, So this is how I do it with Joe right? I don't want that, I want this, but GAH, I am terrified. This is making me far to anxious.

Harold

@Jim Avery: You Must Be New Here

Sajuuk-Khar

AIGHT AIGHT AIGHT FOLKS LIKE look at that posture on Dotty and how she caught Joyce’s hand that is not *fully receptive*, that is “I want this but we *can’t*” If Dorothy Keener is one thing at her core it is scrupulously ethical to the point of self-destruction, that’s what Joyce loves about her, she always does the right thing So this is HUGE, but they ain’t cheating. I’m calling it now, Dorothy stops this before they go too far.

Megh

I read DYW as "do your worst" at first instead of "Damn you Willis" Though tbh I think both work in this context

Jim Avery

No I've been here since the beginning, I'm just stating the obvious.

Sajuuk-Khar

Paramore was a fucking magic choice. When Joe hears about this, he will immediately congratulate Dorothy on knowing her seduction music, at least. ;)

Jay

I mean if that's the case we just a group chanting it. Maybe in a circle?

Sajuuk-Khar

Absolutely neither of them is coming out of this anything less than a Kinsey 2

Sajuuk-Khar

It’s still possible! I believe!!

5099 5618 v2.0

Welcome to the razor 's edge, ladies. Best place to dance you'll ever find.

Andrea Andrew

Perhaps they skoot away from each other like Ranma and Akane when Joe walks in.

Sajuuk-Khar

Dorothy’s face in the final panel, though. She knows. She’s gonna recuse herself, or try to.

Sajuuk-Khar

GOD that would be a hilarious tension-breaker lmaoooo

Jey Siksa

:0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan Rabin

Mirrored face composition in the solo panels 2 and 3. The camera actually has to move a bit to get Joyce's face from the angle—we're not just seeing zoomed-in extracts from the shots of both of them. Also, Joyce's head attitude relaxes in panel 3 as it starts to look like they're having a shared understanding of the moment. This particular head-tilt lasts only for the one panel, since she tilts it again into Joyce's hand. The song lyrics are gone, possibly so that the strip can be entirely (and nonverbally) built out of Joyce and Dorothy's expressions and movements.

Jey Siksa

Somewhere Andrea Andrews has composted and will not be able to see the climax of their hopes and dreams

PaperRabbits

I've been reading willis' work for over 10 years. And you're using a slippery slope fallacy. I never said thought=action. Action is action and Joyce has pushed past my 'I can forgive this in context' threshold by caressing Dotty's cheek here.

5099 5618 v2.0

I can't help but think nothing beyond this is physically possible until someone closes that laptop. ...i do not miss dorm beds.

Albi

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

darklion

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--

Megh

Okay I know I have a... ten year (god I'm getting old) track record of making terrible predictions about the path of this comic and the nature of characters. Buuuuuut, I think having the song "The Only Exception" play, as well as it being the title of the next storyline is pretty relevant. Dorothy is Joyce's exception, and that would put Joyce at 1, hell maybe even an actual 0.5 Dotty on the other hand is 2 at a minimmum, but I still personally think she's a 4.

Lisa

I want to believe your analysis. And I think it's plausible; I appreciate you noticing the detail with her hand. My eye was drawn to how she's leaning in to Joyce's touch. Honestly I could see it either way, which is probably intentional. But Dorothy does not always do the right thing. We saw that when she tried to take Walky back from Lucy, as if he was hers to take (ref https://www.dumbingofage.com/2023/comic/book-13/03-joementum/failed-2/).

Kelly (they-them)

This strip doesn't have any dialogue but I've still read it like 50 million times

Vivian

Sometimes I worry he's going to thread the needle where the splashback of devastation leaves no one unscathed

Kelly (they-them)

I wish I knew how to animate. I'd animate the last few strips and hit all the musical beats as you wrote them out. I can see exactly how long they're staring at each, not moving

Kelly (they-them)

Good thing Dorothy has YouTube premium. A bunch of ads for TikTok woulda killed the mood by now if not Lol, maybe Amber got Dot YT premium as part of her plan to get back with Walky

AE Gonzalez

Two years from now, they’ll be two inches closer.

Megh

Apparently not...

Uniquitous

Oh. Oh my. Please don't let gremlin brain make one or both of them freak out...

E

Firefox + ublock origin on a laptop does the trick too :)

Uniquitous

PS sucks to be you, Joe.

Dan Rabin

I'm more inclined to see Dorothy's hand as holding Joyce's arm inward towards Dorothy's face, and I read her face as showing unalloyed pleasure. Both their faces are showing the red diagonal arousal markings.

Crunchos cereal

Damn, at first I didn’t notice the blushes in the last two panels. Also… please stop. Lot of hurt going to happen soon.

C

I'm now picturing Always by Erasure has kicked in for this page.

Uniquitous

But on the other hand, the best things happened in dorm beds.

Andrea Andrew

Lisa, i think we all know she only tried to do that because she thought she missed out on Joyce. I see your point, though.

Megh

@Vivian I mean that's just business as usual isn't it?

Uniquitous

Dorothy's original purpose was to blow up reality, prior to the Dumbiverse. A is A.

Dan Rabin

So, even knowing that this strip shows what's happening at this point, I still can't even slightly predict any next steps between Joyce and Dorothy, let alone the repercussions for Joyce and Joe's date or for Dorothy and Walky's resumption of boinkular relations. I hope the presentation in the eventual printed book will find readers pausing in the moment just as we one-strip-a-day readers must.

Kelly (they-them)

If Dorothy wasn't correct initially about Paramour being Joyce's favorite new band she sure as hell is now

Harold

@Sajuuk-Khar: The more I look at the last panel, the more I'm seeing what you're seeing. It's hard at first to see beyond that wondrous, never-seen-anything-like-*this*-in-DoA-before face that Dorothy's sporting in panel 4, the kind of face that many people would give anything to see gazing at them this way. But that last panel can, I agree, be interpreted as "I want this so, so much - maybe more than I've ever wanted anything. And, holy fucking shit, *she wants it too*. All I have to do is keep leaning in, and both of our lives will change forever. But I *can't*. I just fucking can't. Not yet."

Mohmi

The edging with these strips is CRAZY dog

Megh

I think at this point, it's too late for no one to get hurt. Who'll get hurt and how much is what remains to be seen

Mariah

I mean caressing someones cheek is not cheating.

Crunchos cereal

Though, yeah, Walky has been joking about this since about the first book. He’d probably just joke about this, not showing any pain. Joe… will break. (If they did not talk this through with Dorothy.) Walky, too, but he’ll bury it so, so deep. Still, there might have been more communication that we haven’t seen. I hope that’s it. Also, they might just be able to keep this a secret for a moment. Joyce has the date, and I understood her being eager for that, too. It’s not like Joe is just the beard, she likes him a lot, and is horny for him, too.

Leon

Yeah, Dan Rabin has it right. They both close the distance between each other - Dorothy leans into Joyce's hand while she holds and pushes Joyce's arm closer (you can see the difference in the last panel). That's 100% receptive.

Arlo C-J

Truly the Zeno's paradox of makeouts going on here

Berry

Dorothy is fantasizing isn't she

Leon

They could hide it, but the list of people who suspect something is going on between them has increased quite a bit recently so it will be funny to see in action. This situation being all part of Amber's master plan to make Walky available was unexpected.

wyatt

this is the most college shit i’ve ever seen

Lisa

Damn Joyce, what's your left knee doing in panel 5 where it's offscreen? She's already touching Dorothy's knee in panel 4, and you can tell from how she's covering more of Dorothy's hand that she's continuing to get closer.

GPanda

Never scream do your worst at Willis because he’ll take it as a challenge most likely

Noelle Eve Palmer

𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀

Sajuuk-Khar

That is a grimace face in that panel, Dan my dogg. That’s not a grin, that’s not the “lost in the sauce” expression of the previous panels, and like if she were just letting it happen, Dotty would not hold that arm. I extremely respect your analysis chops, but I am not dissuaded. Dorothy is putting the brakes on.

Megh

@GPanda Good

Sajuuk-Khar

…On the other hand Uni is right, Dorothy WAS introduced as a supervillain, so if she starts beating Walky to death I’ll admit I was wrong

Smoochie

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. …Amber batmanning this is kind of terrifying.

Mohmi

I'm a drama freak and I want this shit so bad hoss. I need this shit to be a cataclysmic event that fucks up the rhythm of the whole comic. I'm a demon, I have no character.

Megh

@Smoochie Never forget that Amber has all of Amazi-Girl's abilities but only half the morals

Andrea Andrew

Maybe it’s Pandora. That’s cheaper.

Ed Marshall

I feel like this is absolutely a fake-out, and, on a completely unrelated note, did you know that Willis has another Patreon? 😉

Maude Reads Things

There's gonna be a kaboom. A big, comment shattering kaboom.

Andrea Andrew

This would definitely be a very expressive animated series. Perhaps Vivziepop or Rebecca Sugar would love to work on it.

Lia

just subscribed to see this aaaaaaaaaaaa ;u; i love them thank u willis

Smoochie

“This is a bad, shitty situation I’ve put you in. Putting you in.” Im sensing a theme as of recent.

Andrea Andrew

Joyce (much later): I think I owe Becky an apology.

Lia

god though what if it is a fakeout that would be so crazzzyyyyyyyyyy lmao

Leon

Joyce initiating this without any sort of pretext is amazing (also, a tad surprising) and it lines up well when you recontextualize some earlier moments. She took a courageous leap of faith in revealing her feelings in all of this ambiguity but also fully takes sexual agency here in stark contrast to what was just happening prior. Presumably she has been giving this thought for awhile. Even considering the full context of what's happening here, it's the most romantic moment in the comic.

Smoochie

Found Booster’s burner account. Jokes aside…Same. 🤝

Grace Serenity

Welcome! We get to geek out a day earlier than the main site!

Grace Serenity

It's the Illudium Q -36 'ship mod-you-lay-tor!

Grace Serenity

Willis has been edging this ship since day one!

Grace Serenity

Well, Joe and Walky could always hook up

Shane Wegner

This could easily be “I appreciate you a lot but also don’t like, want to make out or go down on you.” And I’m not sure calling that a “fake out” is fair, if it goes that way, it’s genuine too. And I don’t think Dorothy would be disappointed (well maybe a little), more like “I get it”.

C

...But that blush and the mood of this scene...I can't see it being a fake out.

Celia

oh my god SAMEEE i've been reading for years but i HAD to subscribe for joyce/dorothy......

Crunchos cereal

Now I started thinking that what does Dorothy think about Joe? They did have a talk about just this, but she’s been pretty antagonistic towards him, too - not without reason, mind you! So I hope this is not (partly) her doing this to hurt Joe. He’s been trying to be better, for Joyce, we have seen it but I’m not sure if Dorothy has.

Shane Wegner

…Maybe a few smooches? But blushing is no guarantee. We’ll just have to see.

Leon

@Smoochie Another thing to note is Booster called it out as a specific plan to get Joyce to initiate and be the one to break up Dorothy/Walky, which they also thought was completely plausible.

Kelly (they-them)

It'll be like the Gender Studies marriage exercise. Joyce is initially with Joe. She leaves him for Dorothy, driving a wedge between Dot and Walky. Then Walky and Joe get together ❤️

Kelly (they-them)

Nah, Dorothy specifically said it was just a YouTube Playlist

Kelly (they-them)

Andrea, I cannot express to you how fuckin stoked I would be if either of them worked on animating this series

Corronchilejano

That's not what anyone would ever say after "this would be so much easier if it were with you."

Ria

Ozempic Scrooge type shit comment

Jeremy AR

Ok man this is actually starting to fell weird on your part.

PaperRabbits

If I found out about this exact scenario (laying in bed with, saying that, and then caressing their face) I'd consider it cheating.

Yoder of Kansas

Honestly thought we were going for a new "Joyce Get's the D" Joe version, but now I think we might be getting a "Joyce Gets the D(orothy)" version instead.

C

So, last year Willis said the storyline after this one is called "The Only Exception", which was the lyrics from the song as Dorothy and Joyce started staring into each other's eyes. I just remembered that, and it makes me...very curious to see how the current storyline ends.

Alexandru Bucur

The funny thing is Ive been on the Joe end of this equation - 20 some years ago, my then girlfriend went on a "girls night" with her best friend and in the morning dumped me because they'd hooked up when they were both drunk and realized they had feelings for each other... In the moment I was hurt and upset, but looking at it from all these years later I realize that a) they made a better couple than we did and b) the thing that annoyed me was not that she started up a relationship with her friend, but that she dumped me, because, a few polyamorous relationships later (an an ongoing open marriage), it turns out I'm perfectly fine with my partners having any number of relationships where I'm not involved - in fact, it's a good idea, because when my "hyper' phase of my ADHD strikes I tend to descend into a "work hole" and ignore my partners, so if they have someone else to hang with it's better for them... But alas, she was strictly monogamous, so this "elegant" solution would never have worked for her. Unfortunately, I lost touch shortly after, so I have no idea if they're still together or not.

Kelly (they-them)

Joyce kind of cheated with Jacob (not that she was in a relationship at the time but she knew very well that he was). Didn't that storyline bother you? Joyce prioritized her own wants, was manipulative, and - while this wasn't planned - lied to Jacob's brother about dating him. I don't mean to imply that Dorothy and Joyce haven't already crossed a line here but Joyce wasn't super ethical with Jacob either

William Lewis

Seems hard to believe I've never listened to Paramore, so I listened to "All I Wanted" & "The Only Exception" for the first time. That adds a hella mindfuck layer to this arc. Not sure where I want to see this go at this point, know there will be pain but I also remember that you can never live without pain and that you can not find joy without that pain either. Even if it's a fake out, "just a dream, Dorothy's fantasizing" there will still be pain. But perhaps, someday, there can still be joy. I've seen stranger "throuples" in the so-called real world...

ScrimpArt

Joe Joyce fans . . . It's over . . .

shoutytrack | issa maspro

oh, dotty. if there is a knuckles kiss situation in a few strips I may actually combust. also unrelated question: is tatu on this playlist for Max Yearning?

PaperRabbits

Tbf that felt more like her kind of just. Going along with something after a panic response than going down intending to pretend anything. And they didn't end up together- and Dotty/Joyce doesn't feel like something willis would tease then say "SIKE ACTUALLY" on given how giddy he's openly shown he is.

Anna K

The problem with Joyce/Becky was always that Joyce sees Becky as a sister. But I think that alone is going to be far harder for Becky to accept than "Joyce is straight".

Rob McBobson

Okay, if tomorrow's strip cuts to another scene then I'm gonna be so mad I'm gonna CANCEL my freaking membership. (No, wait, I can't, because then I'll have to wait even LONGER for what happens... Darn you, Willis, you've thought this through...)

David Jackson

I had *completely* forgotten she was back with Walky lmao

Smoochie

@Leon THIS IS SO DARK SIDED. I am not ready for where this goes. None of us are (though I expect Lucy is going to be cackling into Jacob’s chest for days)

Smoochie

I genuinely don’t think Dorothy cares. Talk or not, him trying to empathetic or not, Dotty will Dotty. Given their history and where they currently are, I do expect Joe to say through a sad smile ‘I deserve this’ and Dorothy to say ‘yes actually’.

Shane Wegner

YouTube Premium is super worth it. I cant go back. I won’t!

KaylaZX

KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS!! KISS!!! KISS!!!!!

Shane Wegner

On the flip side of this coin, I respect Willis is willing to devastate his characters if that’s what the consequences of various choices leads them to. If there are hard consequences for whatever they chose, those will happen.

Astariel

D'awwww! This is the sweetest thing ever. I just love these two so much.

Ilana Feldman

Surely something has to be interrupting this, right? This feels like the panel where they'd kiss if it was actually happening. Well, that or my sense of pacing is off.

Rob McBobson

Is that what they call it these days? :)

Daniel Adams

The only thing running in my mind is Becky would be a bit upset to find out about this

Andrea Andrew

Lucy: maybe I should’ve warned Walky more than just calling Joyce a bisexual me. Nah! His parents were awful to me!

Mirage

Very close friends, in a historical sense.

tifani

I don’t see this being the end of Joe/Joyce even if it does set up the official start of Joyce/Dorothy. Not even that I think they’ll kiss but I think Joyce is going to have to come to the realization that she’s bi and this could be what leads to it but I don’t see her just dropping Joe over this. I don’t even see him ending things with her if a kiss happens and he immediately found out. Dorothy needs to talk to Walky too. They all need to read polysecure.

Andrea Andrew

Yeah, Jeph! They’re totally scissor sisters.

meh

i'm going to continue believing https://www.dumbingofage.com/2017/comic/book-7/03-the-thing-i-was-before/unraveling/ was foreshadowing and we're about to enter joyce's relationship anarchy exploration story line. we don't know how much joe/joyce have discussed things off panel, but trying monogomy seemed to be something joe did because it was joyce. plus willis happily trolls all of us. REALLY hopping we avoid a becky called dibs story line though, gonna be avoiding the main site if the story goes there.

Maude Reads Things

Joe might be open to poly but I really don't think Joe would be okay with it if they kissed. Remember, he has a lot of issues around cheating.

Uniquitous

Joe starts to come in, sees what's up, and slowly, sadly, walks away, unseen.

tifani

I don’t think he’d be happy about it I just don’t think he’d break up with her over it. There’d be a fight and a conversation.

Uniquitous

I get a nickname? I'm ... so happy!

tifani

I think she forgot too.

tifani

Oh Becky’s gonna go catatonic.

Sajuuk-Khar

Many people (me) are saying this

C

I mean, for all we know, Joe and Joyce had some sort of conversation before all of this. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

C

Ah, Gal Pals, named after the first person to discover the concept, Gal Pallington.

tifani

Reading the comments as a poly person to a situation like this is always fun. All the people going oh no! It’s over for Joyce/Joe?…..Why? It’s over for Walky/Dorothy! Again….why? I’m serious. Remove all your own biases about open relationships have either of these boys ever said ANYTHING about implying they’d be opposed to open relationships? I would argue there’s been in comic evidence they’d be into it. Joe specific asked his dad if he was going to be in an open relationship with Amber’s mom. His problem is with deception so if Joyce and Dorothy did kiss what would matter is what Joyce did about it after. Does she confess? Does she lie? Walky himself has shown interest in Dorothy while being with Lucy and with Amber while being with Dorothy. He very tentatively brought up the possibility of an open relationship with Lucy and then immediately backpedaled because she was not the right person to suggest that too. Joyce’s ideas about monogamy are mostly indoctrinated and I think for Dorothy it would come down to being something she never considerd until presented. My prediction is Dorothy, Amber, Walky, Joyce and Joe all in polycule eventually. It’ll just take so much communication. Omg Booster would die to moderate it.

Baqly

EXACTLY YOURE SPEAKING FACTS!!! ALSO ALSO !!! Both like walky, and dorothy have shown to have a slight obsession with polycules, with talking about them alot, presenting them as the solutions to situations a lot. AND AND DOROTHY DID GET INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH WALKY AND INMEDIATELY TALKED ABOUT JOYCE WATCHING THEM HAVE SEX !! All of these freaks have like shown willingness for a poly realtionship!!! Its just going to be messy!!

Baqly

People forget about walky

N

"This is my boyfriend Joe, and my girlfriend Dorothy who is Joe's enemy, and Dorothy's boyfriend Walky, who is my enemy."

Jasmijn Wellner

Joe and Walky getting together would be beautiful. Walky keeps referring to Joe as his "girlfriend" at first, because it's Walky. Danny is extremely frustrated because Walky kept getting with his exes and now he's with his best friend. Joe's self image as a ladies' man is changing so much he ends up trying to reinvent himself Danny-style. Joyce and Dorothy can make out without feeling guilty.

Mariah

thank you I see so many accusations of cheating and hurting joe or walky without even taking into consideration what they think about the situation I feel like there is a lot of projection going on here like people "joke" about poly but don't seem to actually take it seriously as a option.

Mariah

Given that the only exception is the name of the next storyline I don't think so this is going to have consequences,

Mariah

Fair enough but we don't know if that is how joe is going to feel about this stituation is all im saying.

Corronchilejano

Joe would at least ask if he can stay and watch.

Girlycore

Joyce is blushing and biting her lip. If you're not seeing it yet I hope you sub to slipshine when their series comes out and comment with the same energy honestly lmao

meh

all it would take to get dorothy on board, is telling her she could never create a spreadsheet powerful enough to manage joe-joyce-dorothy-(amazigirl)/amber-walky.

PaperRabbits

Starting a poly relationship off cheating without ever having a serious discussion is a bad idea. You of all people should know that?

Baqly

I think dorothy’s moralizing will supercede her distate for joe, as in note, right after she learned about her bisexuality and the meaning of the tit pics, she kind of went to fell all bad about her actions and have straight sex to try to redeemn herself emotionally. Somethign something she will think she is worse than joe

Corronchilejano

Boxing the entire thing into a term out of the get go (and getting mad about it) seems silly. Walky has, in no uncertain terms, told Dorothy to go bone Joyce, at least twice. Joe already knows Joyce has been masturbating with Dorothy, and he didn't seem bothered by it at all. Let the drama flow through you. Let two young people screw (hehe) up and enjoy it.

Mariah

what about the dryer incident that felt closer to cheating than this.

PaperRabbits

I hated that too but everyone was going ape shit in the comments saying if you had issues with it you were homophobic or simplifying their characters. Also I don't think her and Joe were officially together, given that iirc they talked abt her doing laundry solo and how doing it without joe feels like emotional cheating. But I hated the dryer incident too. It just felt icky to me.

Ilana Feldman

I think the narrative has shown that Amber, Walky, and Joyce are all potentially open to a poly relationship. You pretty much nailed the Walky and Joyce aspects of it, and well, Amber ships everyone IRL. I have no idea what to make of Dorothy, and Joe would probably have to re-evaluate a few things because it leans too hard into the kind of person he's trying to escape being. Rabbit, I think you're right, but I also think that everyone involved knows that there's already something between Joyce/Dorothy, and I suspect one of them is going to backpedal hard imminently (I suspect Dorothy).

Ragtime

Yup, just like Bubbles and Faye. ~s

Seth Aaron Hershman has they/she pronouns

As someone in a poly relationship I think that while all parties could be made open to the idea of a poly relationship, including each other in said relationship would be fraught. N phrased it as a joke but they moreorless have the right of it. You don't NEED to like all your partner's partners but, uh, when you're seeing them socially on a regular basis, it certainly helps!

Railway Series Book Club

yeah, i think despite her pre-Joeing jitters, she's proven that she's perfectly capable of taking agency in sexual situations. (see: Touching the Penis in the dorm kitchenette) I feel like a lot of the people who've decided Dorothy was manipulating earlier her by not telling her she's bisexual have forgotten this, lol. When Joyce knows what she wants going into a sexual situation, she's on top of things 100%. This whole sequence is another instance of that.

NAtAyAZAlnAk

I am the world's explodiest teakettle right now, releasing a singular high pitch squee until the next panel releases

Mariah

good thing no cheating happened.
