Joyce probably has a 12 page diatribe as to why a sock would be unhygienic.

Packy Anderson

... I'm sad that it took me until the last panel to realize why the paper was there.

Andrea Andrew

Usually this happens in the summertime for a special comic.

Syl

BAHAHAHAHAHA oh my god

Rob McBobson

It's paradoxical. The way Willis cuts to the outside of the room, so that we don't see what's going on inside, makes it clear that there's hanky panky going on. Because that's how storytelling works, a lot of the time. In other words, we know Dorothy and Joyce are doing it precisely because we can't actually see whether Dorothy and Joyce are doing it. Paradoxical, innit?

Simon Magid

Sarah hates it when she has to experience legitimate feelings.

Dan Rabin

Perhaps Dorothy always carries some tape.

William Lewis

Oh fuck, YES!!! But Damn It Willis, now I have to explain myself to my co-worker AGAIN!

Andrea Andrew

I didn’t realize seafood was being served, because those two are now eating tuna.

ArdieBea

lol. Sarah's the greatest. And before all the 'Poor-Joe's' here start to feel too vindicated, remember that Sarah (like Dorothy) doesn't have all the info, yet. (I'm really looking forward to 2032 when I'll finally properly understand all aspects of what's going on here.)

KittyKai

... Sarah Joe talk? I legit think that might be really nice

P J Upton

Ruth is passing it right next to you!

Uniquitous

I'm just really hopeful for some forthcoming companion pieces on the other patreon.

Smoochie

I immediately wanna say ‘foreplay’ and I don’t know why.

Logibear

Hahahahaha. Well played Mr Willis. Well played indeed. Sarah doubling down on her recently acquired Paladin levels is a really interesting development.

UVS

I'm rolling at Ruth xD

C Bonesmith

I was gonna ask if anyone else had seen the news about how IU just killed the print edition of the IDS!

Logibear

Just a single text saying "Hey, you okay with this?" would go a million miles for both of them... Bold of me to presume she has his number though

Andrea Andrew

The main couple are finally doing it, and for the first time, there’s no indication that a slipshine companion is on the way.

ArdieBea

@Kai I absolutely agree! I think there's still a little space for a Rachel/Joe match at some point, but there's also been lots of strips where Sarah/Joe can be rooted.

Crunchos cereal

At least the intent was clear. Maybe a bit too on the nose - I hope Becky doesn’t wander by.

Ilana Feldman

The sliding timescale may be sliding a little *too* quickly at this point.

Crunchos cereal

I’m kind of thinking about Slipshine, too.

Logibear

They might just be jumping on the bed. Its really just Schrodingers Dorm Room at the moment.

Harold

@Dan Rabin: Amazi-Dot is always prepared for *anything*

Harold

I think the paladins and paladin-adjacents might be more upset over THAT being used as the do-not-disturb signal than by the actual fucking.

Morgan Byrd

This one got me, I literally LOLed

William Lewis

Well, I already pay for the other patreon but I don't mind an excuse for Slipshine 😈

AE Gonzalez

Interesting if he tells her he’s still waiting for Joyce’s answer.

KittyKai

I'd probably root for Sarah/ Joyce harder if it wasn't for the dean boi (I completely forgot his name I am so sorry), but regardless I think Sarah being that friend for Joe really would be some massive character props for her!

Astariel

Ruth swooping in from right field to snag the punchline! I'm cracking up just looking at her here.

ArdieBea

@Kai. - Tony is great, but unless he's going to come into the main cast, Sarah's wasted on him. I'm glad she's getting some loving, but... it's going to take years for him to become as interesting as any of the others, and I think Sarah should stay much closer to the center of the action.

Edwin I Callahan

I did. Some people feel the IU President is lacking a bit in the backbone department. I’m not sure I completely blame her; the current state government is stupidly hostile to IU and anything else that even vaguely resembles a university.

Harold

@Andrea Andrew: The main site just updated, and nope, no mention of a Slipshine at the moment. It's entirely possible that The Doing Of It might not be happening quite yet.

Andrea Andrew

Story of my Wife by social Distortion.

Maybeeus

WELL IF YOU LIKE JOE SO MUCH WHY DON'T YOU Have a discussion with him about matters?

Kelly (they-them)

Actually, maybe Sarah needs to know that Joe floated polyamory more than Dorothy does. Joe fully endorses this, Sarah, I promise! Even if it Joyce and Dotty end up not wanting polyamory (Joyce will want polyamory) Joe endorses this. Though I guess his endorsement will be more melancholic if his so-to-speak pause with Joyce becomes a proper break up

DiDi-chan

If I were someone on my moral high horse and I came across my--by all appearances--deceitful roommate having some illicit hanky panky... I would rudely interrupt them. Even if I had to get someone to help me pick that lock. Alas... Sarah is likely more decent than I. But I take offense to being "sexiled" as a general principle, anyway.

Gale Tazzin

this isn't illicit, Joe straight-up told Joyce to do it the only deception is that *Dorothy* doesn't know Joyce hasn't dumped Joe

Kelly (they-them)

How many steps away is Dotty and Becky's room again? 31? Our newest sapphic couple really should have used a sock instead. Becky doesn't need fo KNOW that they specifically are fucking as announced by a picture of their first kiss. Pretty good odds that Becky will walk pass before they finish. This is hilarious though, Willis, fantastic choice.

DiDi-chan

That's why I said "by all appearances." *Sarah* doesn't know that, either. Though she might have been hoping Joyce would dump Joe when she gave her that lecture...

KittyKai

... Yeah, fair - hell I'm rooting for Joyce X Dorthy, why am I letting pre existing relationships get in the way xD ALSOOOO, I *do* also wanna point out that Sarah has a thing for big boys, had once said there's only three boys that are actually taller than her, and one of those boys is Joe :3

Amós Batista

You're partially responsible for this, Sarah, I'm afraid to say. Consequences will come for them, but today if for the others

Waifu Purplebutt

Astounding character growth for Sarah, and really cheeky way of getting the message across Joyce/Dorothy

Paul Moffat

Tbh, I would not be *surprised* if Willis does not actually want or intend to make a slipshine of Joyce and Dorothy's *first* time? Making it accurate to the characters and their relationship, and compelling and interesting, and doing it justice, and not turning what is quite plausibly going to be some mutual body worship with multiple orgasms shit, complicated by it being each of their first time with another woman, something less beautiful and meaningful, all in a handful of pages? That's an incredible tall order. So, I get it. Stakes are high, and even mediocre job would be disappointing. Doesn't mean I won't be frustrated and disappointed though.

Ian Walling

Genuinely upsetting that the ids is so important to this storyline while it is being actively destroyed by conservative chuds in reality.

DramaQueen

But did they actually put that there or was it sabotage by some uptight Christian?

DramaQueen

I’m not sure if Joyce knows she hasn’t dumped Joe. She told him so but he is hanging on anyway. That’s all on him.

DramaQueen

Oooo, that is very interesting!

Harold

@Kelly (they-them): It's 33 steps. And they're just fucking *owning* this new notoriety now, aren't they? They clearly don't care if everyone on the floor, at least, sees the paper on the door and makes the connection. (Caveat: It is possible that Dorothy doesn't *know* that Joyce put that particular item on the door. And that it might bother her. Maybe not as much as *other* stuff she doesn't know might bother her.)

ArdieBea

@Drama Queen; living up to your name! I think Ruth's interpretation is the more probable but I do like that you're looking for the wrinkles.

5099 5618 v2.0

"I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards." --Garth Marenghi

Harold

@Paul Moffat: Considering that Willis revived his Slipshine after years of inactivity for Becky and Dina's first time, then did another one the following year (I think) for Sal and Danny's, there's likely no way there isn't going to be one for the first time of what are now the comic's two main characters.

ArdieBea

Plus there are at least three occasions when Joe has voiced his attraction for Sarah. He's said very clearly he 'likes her angry energy'.

ArdieBea

The sliding timescale is actually going to become very interesting over the next few years - assuming Willis is able to continue publishing. So many aspects of the strip take a relatively 'normal' college existence for granted.

KittyKai

THEY. FUCKIN >:3

Logibear

"You and she were.... buhddies... weren't you?" - Someone to Joyce in the future

5099 5618 v2.0

@Logibear "If you and he want to be best buddies again, I won't stand in your waaaay" -Dorothy, at some point. Maybe.

Kelly (they-them)

Yeah, if not for the thoughtlessness towards certain affected parties (possibly including Dorothy) I would say unreservedly that this is incredibly bad ass of Joyce. Big top energy Guess she wants the whole dorm to know that she's also a top. Just twist the knife for Becky even further, why don't you Joyce

5099 5618 v2.0

@Sajuuk-Khar Just got to the end of season 3 of JBA. Some thoughts. (Spoilers for S3) - I am annoyed that Polnareff got to name Dio's stand, nevermind that he was suddenly extremely useful. - Senator Phillips shall not be mourned. - poor Kakyoin. - why in the world does this show hate animals so much? - where's the other half of Dio's corpse? Does that become important, later? - I don't think blood transfusions work that way, especially from vampires.

Logibear

Totally expecting the inevitable smash cut to Joe to just be him, Danny and Sal jamming some Mario Kart and whenever people come up to him being all "I'm so sorry" he's just like "...okay, what for?"

5099 5618 v2.0

There were 69 likes until I hit the button, just now. This just ...seems like a good strip to mention that point passing, y'know?

Logibear

"When you first got here, I was strictly soeloegh" - Joyce to Dorothy

Gale Tazzin

maybe he discovered a cuck fetish

Tessea

Those colossal dorks need to learn how subtlety works! ..... But this sign IS hilarious!

Lia

LMAO

Calder Johnson

That would actually be really sweet and some excellent character development for her to check in with him and see how he's holding up.

Jesse

Oh yeah, that’s gonna be dated now.

Vivian

This is the thing that I don't get - she was unambiguous and he proposed an alternative which she agreed she'd talk about later

Calder Johnson

@DramaQueen - She told him she intended to. Then he said, ok but you don't have to unless you want to. Then she promised him they would talk about it later. When Dorothy emphatically told Daisy that they had broken up with their boyfriends, Joyce's background response was a nervous and ambivilent 'eeeehhhh....?' This absolutely is not 'all on Joe' - not even remotely. Of course, I'm mostly tsk'ing at Joyce not because of Joe - as I've noted before, he saw the writing on the wall before these nerds did and encouraged it - but rather that Joyce knows she should be talking to Dororthy about this (refer to aforementioned 'eeeeehh....?'), but it is putting it off because she is also a horny goblin. Which I empathize with.

Calder Johnson

Dammit. Now I'm being sold on Sarah/Joe. I can see it. Of course, I also have a fondness for Rachel/Joe's constantly angry dynamic that seems to transcend universes and timelines. We'll just have to see!

SmartAlec105

I feel like Joyce's sexual moments have characterization so relevant that we should see them. Like how did she give Joe a blowjob without appearing guilty? Because Joe would have been hyper sensitive towards Joyce feeling guilt or obligation or pressure to do sexual things.

Calder Johnson

That having been said, I think I avoid shipping Sarah and Joe because I think their evolving friendship is really interesting and sweet all on it's own!

SmartAlec105

Does Joe fully endorse this? Or is he so desperate to still be with Joyce that he's willing to take being the secondary partner as a consolation prize and swallow the pain? I'm not saying that polyamory with primary and secondary partners is innately unhealthy but with these characters, they are absolutely not building on a healthy foundation.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Harold It might just drop, one day. Like how that one season of Rick and Morty started on April 1st, unannounced.

Shane Wegner

“Oh no, my (maybe) poly-gf is having awesome orgasms, darrnnnn.”

Calder Johnson

I don't know - I haven't been reading desperation from Joe. I think there *may* be some underlying issues with not believing he's in a position to ask for anything more, but I'm going to wait to actually SEE that before assuming that's what happening. Certainly though, these nerds are almost insured to make a mess out of a triad - that's going to be juicy, juicy drama. But also I dunno, while obviously we'd always prefer the best, we don't always end up choosing the way relationships start? Hearts (and lady-boners) are fickle, passionate things.

Shane Wegner

Could happen organically if their gym time becomes a regular habit.

AE Gonzalez

The Fast an’ Impersonal Slipshine was posted eight days after the same-named comic where it started.

Shane Wegner

Sarah got cheated on, in this case she’s sympathetic to the (assumed from her POV) cheated-on, not arbitrarily rooting for a man anti-Bechdel wise.

AE Gonzalez

The Fast an’ Impersonal Slipshine was posted eight days after the self named comic.

Ian Walling

I mean, he is incorporating the hugely disruptive protests around Palestine (Bulmeria?) now, but more than a year after they occurred. I can't imagine a man with a buffer as large as his could possibly keep up with the dissolution of reality going on around us.

Katrina Marie Paton

It was you? YOU broke the sacred number? Booooooooooo! /j

Maybeeus

I've refrained from sharing my thoughts on Joe and Joyce as a couple. I didn't like it at first. And then i warmed up on it and began to Not Care About It and then i got to where i kinda liked it under the idea of it being a throuple to getting right back where i started. I hate it. I couldn't tell you why i disliked it so much at the start. Maybe it was just the the thought of, really??? This fuckin' guy? JOE? But whatever that's the way it is. It's the part where i could basically see through the matrix on Dorothy's Whole Deal and her constant yearning that i started to turn on it. There was a lot of "Lol lmao get over yourself" thrown her way the entire time while she was constantly put on blast while Joe has through the comic done way worse but everyone conveniently forgot, and forgave the cishet man. I kinda started to like the idea of a polycule though after it really sank in how much Joyce did genuinely love Joe and how he was a positive influence on her life. And who knows! The Queering of Age is still ongoing maybe a real curveball could get thrown our way like Joe turning out to be trans! (A curveball that has not yet been disproven) But the constant bitter march from six months ago to now has completely and totally soiled me on their relationship to the point where i hear the words "Poor joe" and i think about all the bitter vitriol and useless discourse that ultimately seems to just be in service of thinly veiled homophobia and misogyny or puritans who see any moral ambiguity in media and start doing backflips and faint despite the fact that this comic has always been this way. In the end i've tried to be a very rational and nice person about the whole ordeal. A lot of the thing i've said here are ultimately just me being petty. My ideal endgame will always be things working out in the end but not without hard work and struggle to get there as any good story should be. I hope Joe gets his happy ending *stares at the camera* ...and continues to grow as a person and find true happiness and i really hope it happens in a way that REALLY pisses off all the Joebros and makes them go full mask off. Also side tangent, a part of the saga i forgot! I got into DOA pretty recently comparatively. I... don't remember how i found this comic. It feels like a dark force called me into the woods and i ended up finding it. The dark woods were probably TV Tropes??? These things are always hazy but it must have been around 2020-2023 or so but i did a very deep crawl of TV Tropes and 1. knew Joyce and Walky were the original OTP and 2. that they were no longer a thing in DOA but instead she was now with of all people JOE. The fact i was a JoyceXWalky believer will always be funny to me and i definitely don't still hold some faith in the idea of them getting together and am absolutely not rooting for a polycule specifically so my longterm agenda can come to fruition. Admittedly the bittersweet longing for the past and how things were and never will be again enthralls me in an entirely different way. This post was originally an edit to my previous one but it feels like it came so much out of nowhere i had to move it... I've had a few posts regarding how you should and shouldn't engage with media and becoming too obsessive with something is a bad thing and then immediately post something like this but i don't care much for hypocrisy as a concept. Our ideals don't reflect who we are as a person in the current moment but who we aspire to be and constantly work towards which is a never ending process. We'll always have faults and we'll always be working on them.

Kelly (they-them)

@SmartAlec I believe Joe was being completely honest when he suggested polyamory. Perhaps a future point of conflict (if the polycule happens) will be Joe struggling with being a secondary, but during that conversation, he seemed sincerely happy for DoJo to have gotten together. https://www.dumbingofage.com/2025/comic/book-15/03-me-and-who-you-say-i-was-yesterday/howyoudoing/ This strip is the beginning of Joe's conversation with Dorothy about her attraction to Joyce. The conversation is pretty short, around 10 strips. He doesn't seem jealous or possessive in anyway. He isn't upset that Dorothy sent a lewd picture to Joyce. He's worried about Dorothy and also calls out that she hasn't been doing well. He also wants them titty pics that Joyce had intended to send to him, but primarily he is concerned for a friend. I think Joe would be genuinely happy with a polyamorous relationship, at least at the beginning. As much as he ships himself with Joyce, I think he also shops Dorothy with Joyce

P J Upton

Okay so…. We give Willis a week to announce it. Maybe tell Slipshine to upgrade their servers

ArdieBea

So we can immediately crash them, again.

NinjaZaku

Something about this action in particular really hits me weird. Like I've not been a huge fan of the way they're carrying out some of the (what should be) hard talks here but like. This in particular just seems very inconsiderate of how their actions are impacting people. Maybe thats just me tho

ArdieBea

Remember, too, that Willis has stuff on - he's just buried his dad and slipshine stuff takes time and energy. I'd rather he waited till his head was in the right space to create something awesome than half-pie it in response to the thirst in the theater.

ArdieBea

Aaaagh! Aaaaagh! Aaaaagh! If your vaginal discharge has a strongly 'fishy' smell over a period of time, please get checked!

Sajuuk-Khar

As a person who very much likes Joe and is a known evangelist of the throuple, I understand the reactive desire to punish the countless Joebro commentators and to punish the useless stupid discourse but I urge against skating too close to that vortex of pettiness. Lord knows I do it myself but like, I always find it ends up hurting the feelings of people just like me, who don’t have a mask to rip off but just got collateral’d by my own pettiness, and the real bad actors never give a shit.

Maybeeus

This is why i wish for Joe to ultimately go where the Joebros can never follow.

Sajuuk-Khar

-Huh! I never read that as Polnareff getting to name it so much as identifying what it always was, 「THE WORLD」 is 「THE WORLD」 is 「THE WORLD」. -Lmao that guy -GOD I KNOW ; 3; you understand Becky’s (and my) pain now -Araki does this!! It’s just shorthand for Bad Dudes I guess lol -It doesn’t! Though a small piece of DIO’s body does in Part 6, as part of the best series villain’s deal

Sajuuk-Khar

This probably sounds scolding. That’s not how I mean it. IDK. bluhhhhh

Smoochie

I kinda take it as Sarah in general being extremely disappointed in Joyce but also there isn’t more for her to do besides admonish Joyce as she did, feel bad for Joe, and be annoyed that she feels bad for Joe. It doesn’t change that she still cares about Joyce and her wellbeing, but now Joyce comes a bit too close/similar to Sarah’s own younger sister. That might be more to unpack. She’s always seen Joyce as a younger sister, but Sarah has never taken on board the good and the bad, the fact that Joyce has agency of her own or…You know… THAT PREVIOUSLY SARAH ALL BUT GAVE JOYCE A GREEN LIGHT TO HOMEWRECK WHEN SHE LAUNCHED HER AT JACOB TO SABOTAGE RAIDAH’S RELATIONSHIP.

Sajuuk-Khar

Girls this was really inconsiderate. With the IDS going out of print, Fuckface needs all the back issues he can get for cage lining! Think of the iguana, you hussies!

Sajuuk-Khar

ANYWAY now you can watch PART 4, Diamond Is Unbreakable, my favorite by a mile It has: -the best Jojo -a really interesting villain -Persona 4 vibes -Araki’s absolutely insane pseudo-self-insert who he gets away with by dunking on all the time -Even more bizarre hair -very cool Stands

Sajuuk-Khar

Also it has the wonderful, beloved return of music/band name theming for Stands (the main Stand is called Crazy Diamond! yes, like the Pink Floyd song!!)

Anna K

Hi, please can we stop blaming all dislike of Joyrothy on queerphobia & misogyny? I am a queer woman, and I dislike the current storyline largely because it seems to be centred around my two least-favourite stereotypes about women like me: that being attracted to multiple genders means I'll cheat on my partners, and that being attracted to multiple genders means I must be super-horny. Please don't confuse my wish for better representation with bigotry.

Sajuuk-Khar

@Maybeeus: a policy of yours that I absolutely endorse and will adopt is blocking bad faith nitwits on reflex

Jay

I’m honestly happy you’re enjoying this story and this ship! I’ve been reading this comic for over a decade at this point, so it’s fun to hear how others found their way here. And it’s so interesting because I feel like I’ve gone on an opposite journey? I’m a queer woman, so I saw the writing on the wall for Dorothy x Joyce ages ago, but I struggle with cheating storylines (especially ones where all parties involved are friends first and foremost). I don’t think anyone deserves cosmic punishment, I just have too much personal anxiety to enjoy them until I see all the little narrative threads resolved from a birds eye view. So as this storyline has dragged on and the vitriol on both sides of the aisle has festered in the comments, my feelings about Dorothy x Joyce have gotten all jumbled up and soiled in a similar way Joe has for you. I really hope I get to a point where I like Dorothy x Joyce the way I grew to like Joe x Joyce over time (because not being enthusiastic about an f/f pairing feels like a personal betrayal and I want to be where the people are!!), but emotionally I’m just not there yet. Back to lurking until this entire story arc is over so I can compile my thoughts!

Girlycore

They were forcibly outed. They can own that however they like. That isn't a thing happening to other people, it's a thing that happened to them.

David M Willis

That's the current hovertext for the main site, but I'll likely change it to match this one. Can't really not acknowledge The Thing.

zee

Actually this one hit me as very funny. Like yeah, sure, might as well. Probably gets the message across better than a sock

Shadow12000

I mean, when they took all the other copies, Malaya did snatch them up from them for that reason alone lol

Shadow12000

Can't wait to see her response to Joe saying he's given his blessing

Empress of Robots

Wait. So does Jocelyne get a tag for this if we can only see a LITTLE BIT of her head?

Riley Aurelia

Joe WAS still cheated on regardless of his offer to be in a polycule, and it's pretty clear that in some level he's making that offer because he doesn't feel like he DESERVES to be Joyce's primary focus. Like yeah he's probably happy for them, but it would make sense for him to be somewhat hurt or scared too.

Empress of Robots

OBVIOUSLY. We're talking about the euphemism! But also considering Joyce tends to take Dorothy's advice too far, I'm worried that Joyce would ignore any changes in the smell of discharge because Dorothy told her to only use water in there. Oh god. Dorothy! Teach Joyce about douching (dos and don'ts) FAST PLEASE for both your sakes!

Andrea Andrew

Hey, AE. They’re clam jamming. Perhaps a long connective toy can also be used.

Empress of Robots

God I hope they don't go right for scissoring. Scissoring is always so underwhelming and there are far better things they should do FIRST

Rubia

You can also compare and contrast with the original JoJos OVA series! Though IMO the ones produced in the 90s are superior to those made in the 00s.

Rat

All this discourse as if Joe doesnt famously think getting ones sexual matters into a newspaper isnt the sickest shit ever. one of the first things we learend about him really. Hes gonna dap her up for this move.

Beck Chonigman

Yes, Ruth. A sock would have been FINE. But it would not be nearly as spectacularly petty and gay as this.

Railway Series Book Club

the joe dickriding has forced me into the "i hope jakey dies" camp out of spite. i’m on Team Throuple re: Polycule but the way the commentariat treats joe vs. The Two Most Important Characters In The Comic is fucking exhausting

Sajuuk-Khar

It’s not even the kind of dickriding Joe would want!!!

Sajuuk-Khar

Joe was not unambiguously dumped. Argh. Can we *please* stop pretending this is true??? It makes me insane. Joyce was reluctant to dump him, she is still considering the poly proposal, she has *explicitly weaseled out of* referring to or thinking of him as her ex. IMPORTANTLY: I do not think this makes her bad or wrong or even very deceitful! She may decide poly is not for her and then he will be dumped! AND, btw, Joe did give her the green light to eat at the Keener Country Buffet! It doesn’t matter if he’s sobbing inside, he said “get you that hot chicken, girl”! The only person who is being kinda half-truthed is Dotty! Does she care? I don’t know, and neither do you! Currently she’s getting fucked right and that’s awesome! I’m just. Like. We do not need to absolve Joyce. She is doing a bad, and that’s okay!

Sajuuk-Khar

We stan a porcupine-souled depressed binch in overalls 😤

Sajuuk-Khar

Ruth is always on target. Cause she’s RUTHLESS *sick guitar riff*

Sajuuk-Khar

Joyce may be kind of a dummy, but I think she knows better than Alice “COOCH TO COOCH” Chen in the sex department

Harold

@QueenOfSodor: I have been tempted more than once to reply to "is Joe going to show up soon?" posts with a semi-joking hope that he shows up wearing a "Team Joyrothy" T-shirt and holding a cake reading "CONGRATS ON THE SEX"

Sajuuk-Khar

If Joe shows up with a CONGRATS ON THE SEX cake or a bi flag cake and a raised eyebrow in his next interaction with the DOA THEOCRACY *bell tolls*, I will know that Willis is writing a love letter to me. And then I will demand more Roadblock content.

Jayne Lindgren

@Maybeeus - I think I wrote something like this about my very similar feelings about Joe and his role in this comic a while ago, because I went from hating him, to liking his *friendship* with Joyce, to being very annoyed that it turned into yet another romantic relationship (because when a man and woman are close and vulnerable they MUST become romantic, right??), being extra annoyed when they actually got together, and then super duper annoyed that as Joyce and Dorothy's story reached a climax we basically had to deal with both characters in the strip and people in the comments constantly talking about how the absolute most important thing about two women being in love is how it effected *the man*. (insert "This ain't about him" meme) In the effort of, as you said, not becoming so obsessive and emotionally entangled in things, I'll skip writing or dwelling on it more, but I will say your feelings really resonate with me and I understand them completely and I appreciate you putting them out there. <3

Tim Starliper

@DramaQueen - this was my first thought as well - someone put it there out of a desire to further 'out' our couple. The more I think about it, though, it also makes sense that they did it themselves in lieu of a sock on the knob.

Sajuuk-Khar

In more ways than one EYYYYOOOOO

Mariah

there is plenty of "good" bi rep in this comic in fact danny even said that cheating has nothing to do with being bi we have ruth danny billie and even dina who are attracted to more than one gender. Not every queer character needs to be a perfect angel all the time.

Maybeeus

@Anna K Absolutely fair and valid. One of the other casualties of all of this is people with actual valid opinions on the storyline get drowned out.

Girlycore

Woof, the comments on the main site today are Certainly Something.

Rob McBobson

I am very happy to take your word for it.

Rob McBobson

Looks like we're at the same point! :) I'll have to get through my backlog of manga volumes to keep pace, so I can keep reading your comments about the series.
